Location: Murphy, Smoky Mountains, North Carolina, USA
Accommodations: Chalet, 2 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 2 Baths (Sleeps 4-8)
Keywords: Chalet
Our home was completed in October 2003. The first time we drove up the driveway the view actually took our breath away. The chalet is tucked away on the mountain where you feel like you are hours from town, with the luxury of town being only ten minutes away. You can relax on the deck in rocking chairs or in the hot tub and enjoy the views for hours.
The nearby forests are spectacular. Within 30 minutes, you can be whitewater rafting down the nationally known Nantahala River. There is also plenty of boating and fishing available at several nearby lakes and trout streams. If hiking, biking, or horseback riding sounds like more fun, we have miles of state and national forest trails and land in Murphy.
Within a one-to-two-hour drive, you could be in Dollywood, Atlanta, Pigeon Forge, Chattanooga, the Cherokee Reservation Casinos, or Museum, Highlands, or Asheville.
Our home would make a wonderful romantic getaway for honeymooners or anniversaries. It also is wonderful for families as big as eight. We regularly stay there with two families of four without feeling crowded. The upstairs master bedroom is called the "bear room." It has a king-sized bed, private bath, and a private deck. The downstairs bedroom has a queen-sized bed and French doors leading to the wraparound deck. There are two futon sleeper sofas, with innerspring mattresses as comfortable as your bed at home. One is located in the upstairs loft area and the second in the family room.

We just stayed at this lovely cabin for our honeymoon. This cabin is so beautiful and peaceful. The owners are so easy to work with they even gave us a late checkout cause they had nobody coming in so that was nice. Everything you need is there. We are going to come back. Rib county is a must to eat at which is about 10 min. from the cabin. The Great Smokey Mountain Rail in Bryson City is well worth the money only about a hour drive from the cabin. The hot tub is so great and the view is awsome and peaceful.

We had a great time. Loved the cabin. Watch out for the hornets under the steps by the lock box. My friend got stung by her eye. The little dog that came to visit was so cute, wanted to take him home with us. Everything in the cabin was great. Very clean and the veiw was awesome. We went white water rafting during one of the days we were there. Wonderful fun. I will come back again soon. Thank you so much for sharing your place. It was very easy to get to.

My sisters and I had a really great time at your chalet. It is a beautiful house and very comfortable and relaxing. The hot tub was great as were the assortment of games provided. Much of our time was spent on the porch rocking, watching the scenery and listening to the birds. The whipporwills were awesome at night! Thanks for sharing your home, Adrienne.
