"Chalet By The River" is a newly constructed, chalet-type cabin tucked away on the banks of the Yellowstone River. The nearest airport in Bozeman is 90 minutes away. We are ten minutes from Gardiner, the north gate (the only year around entrance) to Yellowstone Park and are seated in beautiful Paradise Valley in southern Montana.
The chalet offers a complete kitchen, 4 bedrooms (including the basement)& a loft, washer/ dryer, a great room with windows overlooking the river and magnificent mountain views & a wrap around deck. The chalet's master bedroom on the second floor has a queen size bed and its own private bathroom. The main floor bedroom has a queen size bed and a single bed and its own bathroom. The loft area has a queen sleeper sofa.
The basement of the Chalet has a complete kitchen, 2 bedrooms (one w/ a queen & one w/ 2 double beds) bathroom, bunk area (1 set of bunk beds), living room/dining room, washer dryer, a separate outside entrance from the main floor, a patio overlooking the river facing mountain views. The basement will sleep 10 (using an air mattress).
If your group will fit comfortably in the upper level of the chalet we have a separate rate for the upper area alone.
We also have a smaller "Cabin By The River" which sleeps 4-5, has an efficiency kitchen & a front porch, complete with porch swing, which overlooks the Yellowstone River. The cabin also offers dish TV/VCR & a gas barbeque on the porch. It can be rented alone or along with the chalet for larger groups. Call us for availability, calendar does not reflect smaller cabin availability.
You will be awed by our location and spectacular views! Being only 10 minutes north of Yellowstone Park alows you to come out of the Park at night & enjoy the quiet by the river. The Yellowstone River is known for it's natural flow & spectacular trout fishing. It also has some exciting whitewater rafting areas, many going right past our property. Numerous raft companies are conveniently located in nearby Gardiner. We are 90 minutes from Bridger Bowl, some of the best downhill skiing without the crowds. In Winter Yellowstone Park offers beautiful cross country skiing & snowmobiling (rentals available in the Park)as well as spectacular wildlife viewing. Consider visiting our area in the off season. We often have awesome October weather, cool nights, sunny days, lots of wildlife. Winter is quiet and beautiful. Wildlife around us and in Yellowstone is beyond your expectation and includes bison, elk, deer, mountain sheep, wolves, coyotes, bald eagles, osprey and more. Spring can also be a great time to visit, seeing wildlife and their young can be the experience of a lifetime. Christmas can also be a special family time in Yellowstone. A 50% Deposit is required to confirm; Balance due upon arrival.
Refunds for cancellations made only with more than 60 days advance notice.
Reservations made less than 60 days in advance require full payment.
We regret that we cannot refund for cancellation notice under 60 days.
A $300 Security Deposit is required at booking, refunded 14 days after leaving if
no damage or excessive cleaning required. No sec.deposit for cabin required.

I am a Montana native, 2nd generation, and Warren has lived in Montana most of his life having grown up in Northern California. We have 3 grown children and 7 (almost 8)grandchildren, all living in the area. Warren works for the National Park Service and I manage the rentals. We love living in the mountains but also love to travel. We have been providing lodging for visitors for almost 15 years and have loved meeting wonderful people and sharing our corner of the world. We have 2 horses, 1 mule, 1 dog and 2 cats who also enjoy our guests.
Why the Owner Chose Gardiner
We built our smaller "Cabin By The River" in 1995. For 10 years we operated it as a bed and breakfast. In 2004, we built the chalet as a vacation rental because of the demand we experienced from larger groups for a larger rental. We have many family reunions and guests love the property and our proximity to Yellowstone Park without being "in" the Park. We are located in a small valley of the upper Yellowstone River. We have about 7 acres on the Yellowstone River. Our home, the cabin and chalet are on this acreage.
The Unique Benefits of this Chalet Cabin/Cabin
We love being close the river and hearing it flow by at night. We are in a country setting with neighbors yet private. Guests enjoy fishing right here and having a fire in the fire ring by the river. The mountain views all around are spectacular.
