  Everything was smooth - booking, arriving, staying, and departing. The property owner with whom I dealt was very friendly and accommodating, and offered some awesome tips about Mentone. This is my fourth time staying in the area, and the first with this property. I won't stay anywhere else after my latest visit - this place has it all. It's tucked away near downtown Mentone - within walking distance of most local restaurants, etc. It's a mountain cabin with a few interior cliches like furniture made from branches... but not overly so. Just enough to make it fit. But the retro goodies all over the place will bring back memories to danged near everyone. We especially enjoyed the motion lamp and Big Ben Moonbeam clock. This place is perfect if you need some peace and quiet. I don't think we saw or heard any passing cars on the street. Due to the rain, we spent a lot of time at the cabin. Two bathrooms and a kitchen made that a breeze. The screened-in back porch is great any time, especially since it keeps away the bugs. Sunsets from the back deck are awe-inspiring.

  In our opinion, the best view on the brow! The nice inside/outside deck is nestled perfectly between the trees, but still gives a panoramic view of the land below, and how far away it seems! We love the Cool Breeze Properties, after finding them just by chance a few years back, we wouldn't want to stay anywhere else. The owners have YOU in mind with the properties. So unique, and the decor....well, it's smothered with personality; a perfect match to the uniqueness and mystique of happy little Mentone. Prepare to Relax, Unwind, and Enjoy this clean, comfortable, well accommodated cottage. The name says it all, and truly falls into the category of a cottage. The sunsets are just awesome here. We'll be back again!!! Thanks David and Louise!

  If you are looking for a cozy cottage and a GREAT view then this is it! To look off the deck at night and see the town lights twinkle it is breathtaking. Great location to town, we walked to all the resturants and stores in the area. It felt like home the minute we walked through the door. You will want to explore all the neat little treasures this cottage has. If you wanted to make smores all the items are waiting up in the cabinet, if you needed a walking stick for a hike their are four.If you need wood for the fire pit outside their is a stack by the fence.If you need jelly for breakfast it was waiting on the table when we arrived as a sweet little gift. All these personal things just make it special.Yes it was very clean, and the owner was great to talk to, very helpful and friendly. This was our first trip to Mentone, and we are planning our next, we will stay in this same cabin,why look any where else! Thanks for a great birthday weekend! Good places to eat: Moonlight Bistro, Wildflower Cafe-( must try the humming bird cake!!!) Attractions: we spent one day touring Desoto Falls and Little Canyon River a must see! White Horse Antiques, Gordie, Dixie Salvage, and all the other little shops in Mentone.

  We were instantly impressed with Cool Breeze Cottage upon arrival. It is so much more than the website illustrates. Beautifully and tastefully decorated, easy walking distance to restaurants, all the amenities (technology!) to make guests comfortable, and such comfortable furnishings. This may be my new "go to" getaway spot. I hope to be back very soon.

  This cottage is fantastic! My husband I and have been to Mentone before and stayed in other cabins but none compare to all the features of this property. The living room was inviting with a warm fireplace and comfy furniture. We enjoyed the outside firepit by roasting marshmallows. The owners have put a lot of time into decorating and it shows every where you turn. The view from the patio was amazing and we enjoyed sunsets and wine every night. We wanted to explore the Annual Colorfest in Mentone. Little did we know that we were in the best location possible with vendors with in walking distance on the brow and in town down the street. This is The Perfect Fall getaway! We will return!!

  I wasn't surprised because I had already stayed at the other property, Cool Breeze Hideaway, while my parents stayed at this one. The view actually looks as if it were made to fit the house instead of the other way around, trees framing the sky perfectly and blocking out houses, roads, etc. As for all of the little extras they provide, you could probably show up without a suitcase or food and live for a week on what's there. Maybe I'll try it next time, just for fun!

  What a wonderful trip we had on our Labor Day weekend to this beautiful cottage. There are no words to tell you how peaceful and quiet this little peace of heaven is. We loved everything about the cottage and want to make this a place that we will go back to again and again. The owners had everything you need in the cottage and it was decorated so beautiful. We felt at home the minute we walked in the door. We loved sitting on the deck and watching the sunset and sitting around the fire in the fire pit. We will recommend this cottage to all of our family and friends.

  This was an absolutely delightful Cottage with charm abundant! The private, outdoor view was absolutely beautiful! The beds were more comfortable than my own and that comfort is priceless while travelling! As a former Travel Agent, I can give this vacation rental my complete thumbs-up approval and would have no reservations whatsoever in booking it for travel clients!

They are very well maintained and are very convenient to everything..   We recently had a "Girl's Trip" and stayed at Cool Breeze Cottage. Words can not express how wonderful this cottage is! From the time you walk in, you feel immediately at home. The views from the back deck were AWESOME. They constantly changed from the sunrise to the sunset views. Most appealing for sitting and relaxing your cares away with wonderful friends. The artistic touches and the eclectic decor were a delight! It was an adventure admiring all the pieces. We loved the stained glass and remote control fireplace too! You can tell the owners love this place. You feel it when you walk in. The bedrooms were so appealing and comfortable and the cottage was extremely clean. I have been to Mentone several times but it was my girlfriends’ first visit. They immediately fell in love with this quaint mountain town and most definitely with this wonderful cottage. We enjoyed dining at the Wildflower Cafe and shopping at The White Elephant, Log Cabin Village, and The Crow's Nest and had the most fun at the unique Gordie Shop. We all left with our trunks full of TREASURES! The owners were just wonderful and such a pleasure to deal with. They even called to check to make sure we were okay and provided us with complimentary jellies. We did get rain but it did not dampen our spirits. There is an old saying that you either "Get Mentone" or you don't. Well, I can say that not only do I "Get Mentone" but now my friends do. They can't wait to come back next year! I would HIGHLY recommend this place. One of my girlfriends wants to come back and bring her husband for a Romantic Weekend Get-a-way! This place is PERFECT and we will definitely be back!

  A wonderful cottage in one of the best possible locations on the Alabama mountain, this has a view that's hard to match in the entire region! Whether you like the charm of Grayton Beach or the Historic Marriott Grand, mixed in with the appeal of a small town, this eclectic mountain cottage is a must do! If you like amenities, they're here ~ from the soft soap and plenty of wash cloths, to the candles, and little treats that are waiting for you to enjoy. The cottage was very clean, and it is very obvious that hard work has gone into making this spot enjoyable, from the inside to the outside where you'll find a nice sitting area by the fire pit, and not to forget the screened in patio/ deck with the newer outside deck hanging over the brow and mother nature's paintbrush providing the show ~ including great sunsets. What more can I say? Well, you'll be just a very short walk to the treasures that Mentone has to offer. As frequent travelers to many US destinations, my wife and I seek out the best places where the owners care about their guests, and this is one of them...My wife and I will definitely be back!!! J&R

  This property could not have been more perfect for the two of us. The location, layout, decor, view, privacy and amenities made us feel at home. The remote control fireplace was the coolest (warmest?) thing. We will be back.

  We wanted a nice weekend getaway for our November anniversary without long-distance travel. We arrived at Cool Breeze Cottage on a Friday to discover an absolutely enchanting home with an incredible view. It is so obvious that the owners love this place and that they have considered every possible detail for both comfort and function. The eclectic decor was delightfully whimsical, but not at all overdone. It was nice having a couple of restaurants close enough to walk to and we enjoyed lunch at both the Wildflower Cafe and the Moonlight Bistro. We look forward to returning to Cool Breeze Cottage again and again and have already submitted a request to return in late spring.

  We arrived at the Cottage on a Friday evening, right before sunset. Walking in, I felt like my heart just smiled. My husband and I, along with our friends who joined us, have been to Mentone before but never have stayed within walking distance to town. What a treat! David and Louise were a dream to work with and all the extra little touches made me feel very at home and a bit spoiled. ;) I loved the bedding and actually was able to get a good night's sleep - which is rare for me - on the comfortable bed in the master bedroom. We were able to enjoy the beautiful sunsets and a nice cozy fire in the outdoor fire pit. My only regret is that my two days there were way TOO short and I can't wait to come back again! Thank you, David and Louise, for a wonderful, relaxing weekend.

  We spent four day at Cool Breeze in October and enjoyed our stay very much. The cottage was clean and comfortable. Anything we ever thought would be nice to have was there. The kitchen has any pot or pan or dish necessary to prepare a meal, and there was even coffee already there. The master bath has a great tub too. The living room, screened porch, and deck are perfect for relaxing or entertaining. There is lots of seating inside and outside. The cottage is so close to the restaurants that it would be easy to walk to them. It was also nice to have information about places to visit around Mentone and farther away. Altogether we had a great time and would recommend Cool Breeze to people.

  As soon as we stepped into the cottage, I felt at home. The decor is warm, eclectic and cozy. The beds are incredibly comfortable. It was great to be within walking distance to town. And it was nice to walk the dog to nearby Brow Park with its breathtaking view, then return to the cottage and continue to enjoy the view and gorgeous sunsets from the deck. This is a lovely mountain retreat!

  My daughter-in-law's mother & I have become traveling conpanions and when we found Cool Breeze Cottage on-line, we did not have any idea what a wonderful get-away could be found in the quaint town of Mentone, Alabama. We came for a week for the annual, 3 day, Hwy 127 Longest Yard Sale and explored the area in and aound Mentone. We immediately felt at home in the warm, eclectic atmosphere of the cabin. Besides the beautiful mountain view from the porch, we enjoyed watching the hummingbirds come to the feeder that is hung outside the screened porch. I am sure we will be back as soon as we can and recommend this outstanding cottage to all.

  We stayed in the cottage at the end of July and loved every minute! It has all the amenities of home-well stocked kitchen, updated bathrooms, nice linens-but is nestled in quaint Mentone. We had our toddler and shih tzu with us, so it was great having lots of outdoor spaces for them to run around and the town of Mentone literally two minutes walking distance. Also, it's even cuter in person than in the pictures! We can't wait to go back in the fall, when temperatures are nicer, and enjoy the screened in porch and gorgeous vew! Thanks again!!!

  From the minute we walked into the cottage, we had a smile on our faces. The decorating and furnishings were so creative and comfortable. Then our eyes went to the back wall of glass exposing a magnificent view of the valley below. We spent a lot of time, day and night, admiring that view from the screened porch and deck. The cottage is in a good easy to get to location. Just be aware if you need groceries, the closest real grocery store was in Fort Payne about 20min. away (there was a Dollar General at the foot of the mt. in Valley Head only 5 min. away) There is a lovely park, quiet and with views, down the street from the cottage. It is perfect for dog walking. There were many touches throughout the cottage David and Louise have made to make you feel welcomed- from homemade jelly to a personal toothbrush kit. I could go on and on, I'll just close by saying, we can't wait to go back!

When you walk in the door you can feel the love that was poured into preparing for your stay. The decor is beautiful, the views are stunning and the owners are delightful. Cool Breeze has a peaceful energy that nurtures your soul. Whether you want a quiet place to relax or to hang out with friends Cool Breeze is the place for you.   This beautiful place had more to offer than I ever thought I would need. "Cozy and welcoming" is an understatement. The views off the rear deck are incredible and made cooking a steak on the porch that much nicer. I'll definitely return as I have time and time again. The owners are wonderful people to know.

  My family of three had a wonderful visit at Cool Breeze. It is an easy and beautiful drive from Metro Atlanta. The cottage is in a perfect location, you can walk to town and dine out or enjoy beautiful views while grilling on the patio. The cottage is very well equipped with linens, kitchen items, games and electronics. The mood is whimsical, casual and relaxing. My daughter enjoyed it so much she didn't want to leave. It is a great place to rest and restore. We plan to return in the fall.

  My girlfriend's and I were pleasantly surprised when we walked into Cool Breeze Cottage. The decor was wonderful and the view breathtaking. It also had all the amenities of home. The listing photo's were very pretty, but in our opinion, it didn't do it justice. We had one stormy day where we sat at the table playing cards while enjoying the cozy fireplace. We couldn't have asked for a more perfect place for our Girlfriend's Retreat. We will definitely come back to this beautiful cottage.

  Happy 29th anniversary and what a perfect place for a great weekend. I love Mentone and have been coming for years and will always return. I'm sitting at the fabulous dining room table which looks out over a spectacular view and I can't believe that I have to leave this perfectly appointed and totally comfortable beautiful place filled with cool breezes and very cool views. Enjoy the many TVs, the pleasant swing, the fun fire pit, the blooming treats in the yard, breakfast on the picnic table on the deck, a stroll along the brow, my perch in the rocking chair,etc.. I could soooo go on and on but I should stop. If I keep gushing then you will all have it rented and I will miss out ! Thanks to the Easts for a cozy, pleasing and very delightful weekend get-away ! Yall take such good care of your guest. Thanks !

  Cool Breeze Cottage can't be matched! This cottage has so much charm to it and the view will absolutely take your breathe away. What's so great is that all of the shops and restaurants are just steps away, no need to drive as you can walk through downtown Mentone directly from the cottage. Not to mention that Desoto Falls is right down the street. Would highly recommend this cottage to anyone looking for a great retreat.

  I rented Cool Breeze Cottage for the weekend and it was well worth it! I'm so glad I rented it because none of the local hotels offer views of the mountains plus there was plenty of room and privacy.   Recently had delightful stay in Cool Breeze. First time I'd actually had getaway in midst of "Mentone action" which was great on my gas tank! Yet, the quietness of surroundings and the quality of cottage with its spectacular view gave feel of being very quiet! ALL the furniture was as comfortable as home, as well as the deck chairs & porch swing which were fabulous! The cottage was stocked with all the comforts of my home which was something very extra. The artistic touches of stained glass & lovely open glass doors facing the brow view only added to my enjoyment. What a blessing to have a Cool Breeze move into my experience. Gracious host and hostess who were so kind & considerate!!! Thanks again!!!

  We loved everything about this cottage! My husband and I enjoyed a weekend getaway at this lovely home and we are looking forward to our next visit. This was our first trip to Mentone and we are hooked! We will DEFINITELY be back. Thanks!
