Charming Ocean View, 400 Yards from Beach! Wi Fi & Phone.

Charming Ocean view home only 400 yards from the beach! (beach pictured in the photos, to see more photos go to facebook and search for Casa Las Olas Todos Santos Rental). Only 2 Miles North of Todos Santos in Las Tunas, one of the most desirable parts of Todos Santos. A quiet, private, relaxing setting for the ones who want to get away without being completely isolated.
The house is situated on a hill overlooking the ocean and mountains. It is surrounded by a lush garden that provides cool shade during the summer months. I have sat on the porch and watched over 20 varieties of birds including many different types of hummingbirds (see facebook page). The Ejido, which is a fresh water channel of spring water coming from the mountains, runs right through the property providing water for this little oasis. The garden and patio area is a private, warm and cozy setting. This makes it a perfect area to barbecue and relax in. There is also a charming outdoor shower with views of the ocean and mountains. A staircase leads to the top of the house with a full deck and sweeping 360 degree views. Recently we added a shaded area to hang in hammocks and lawn chairs for tanning in the private setting.
The kitchen is fully equipped, I live here part time and enjoy the amenities because I like to cook. In the bedrooms all the linens are provided. There are two main bedrooms with a king bed, and a queen, we also have the option of separating the king into two twins for families with kids or guest who don't like to get too cozy :) The master bedroom has private bathroom and the second bedroom uses an other bathroom. In the living room, the couch turns into a queen bed for extra guests.
The house is in a very safe neighborhood, which was an important factor for me as a professional photographer who has an extended amount of valuable gear. I feel assured and safe enough to leave my truck open with surfboards and gear in it while it is outside of the house. For the ones with boats or RVs there is a large fenced in area to keep everything contained in the property.
This is a great place to relax. The setting is beautiful and only 2 miles away from Todos Santos with all the amenities and the activities the town has to offer. A well stocked grocery store is a mile away and the beach is short walk down the hill. For surfers, La Pastora surf break is 2 miles north of the house and it can be seen from the roof top. This is my early morning ritual with a cup of coffee at hand. Always want to check the surf before starting the day.

Our stay at Casa las Olas was blissful. When not surfing, enjoying ceviche at Compa Chava (recommended in the Casa las Olas vrbo map), or buying fresh guava, eggs and bananas at Pickle's roadside stand, we lounged on the rooftop and enjoyed the view of the ocean from the hammocks. The beach was a short walk away, and la casa was just far enough from town to be quiet (away from the sounds of barking dogs, crowing roosters and traffic that kept our friends awake), without feeling remote. The garden was lovely, the interior was spacious and charming, and everything we needed to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable was within reach (kitchen utensils, washer/dryer, hot outdoor shower, and I even found a how-to surfing manual for women... which worked!)Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

Todos Santos is called a Pueblo Magico ( Magic Town), but it could just as easily be called a Pueblo Encantador because it exudes a charm all its own. We spent an enchanting week at Casa las Olas and experienced Todos Santos from the ideal perspective – close to the pristine beach, two easy miles from the town center, while surrounded by Paolo’s tranquil gardens. The mid-April weather was sunny and delightful, as were the local residents. Baja is both geographically and culturally removed from the Mexican mainland, and although our travels through Mexico off and on for the last thirty-five years have been with zero problems, if you’re at all worried about traveling south of the border, the Baja Peninsula is the ideal Mexican destination. Todos Santos itself is a literal and figurative oasis. Literally because water flows from nearby mountains and transforms the desert into a jungle of palms, mangoes, bananas, citrus, and every flower you can imagine. Figuratively because Todos Santos is a retreat from congestion, crowds, time, tension, and bustle. We recommend going to Los Cabos if you’re looking for party boats and two gallon Margaritas. However check out Todos Santos if you enjoy colonial-era architecture, a sense of history, crashing waves, and fabulous restaurants. We marveled at the town’s cleanliness and didn’t see a single piece of litter for almost four days. The markets brimmed with fresh vegetables. The restaurants kept coming up with better and better Margaritas. The cuisine satisfied our every culinary craving. Todos Santos is truly filled with hidden treasures and often the plainest buildings shocked us with their interior elegance. Small wonder that Paolo chose this wonderful town as his winter getaway. His casa is lovely, very comfortable and airy, super clean, and the kitchen is equipped with all the utensils you’d need to make any meal. The ocean view from the rooftop palapa is inspiring and the days and nights are as quiet as a breeze. There’s also a DVD player, internet, and even a cell phone provided to the guests. Paolo runs a very efficient and organized rental and we’d recommend Casa Las Olas to anybody.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway.
Owner response: What a wonderful description of Todos Santos and review! Thanks so much, hope to see you back soon! Paolo

I've had the pleasure of staying at Casa Olas on several occasions this winter season. After my first stay turned out being perfect I decided to come back, not once but three more times. With each returning visit I was pleasantly surprised by the improvements made to a already great rental, notably the addition of a large "Palapa" sun shade area constructed on the rooftop with great views of the pacific, mountains, several hammocks and lounge chairs to relax in and enjoy a cocktail at sunset. The rental is managed very well, everything works as it should and is in it's place in addition it's very well appointed. I'm able to show up with some groceries and find everything I would need and use just as I do at home. Washer/dryer, hot outdoor shower, wifi, lots of outdoor space, gas BBQ and artwork hanging on the walls. The location is great too, it's quiet (most places aren't) if you surf the best break for many miles is only a kilometer away and a super market is another kilometer or two in the other direction. Feels like home, highly recommended !Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

I know Paolo from my previous life in Montana and was eager to come down from San Diego for a short visit and surf trip. Upon arrival at the casita, nothing surprised me. When it comes to his personal accommodations, Paolo has always kept a very clean, stylish, and welcoming home - Casa las Olas is no exception to the rule. The grounds are beautiful, the home is immaculate, and the lighting and colors are truly warm and welcoming. The kitchen is beautiful, open to the main lounging area, and fully stocked for cooking just about anything - we made homemade pizzas my first night there. I have been to many different regions in Mexico, and I have never felt safer or more at home than in Todos Santos. Casa las Olas is located in a very quiet, upscale (for Mexico) neighborhood, and you can hear the waves pounding La Pastora beach a couple of miles away. In fact, you can actually check the surf from the roof of the casita, where Paolo has recently had a shady palapa built for relaxing and enjoying the amazing view. This place is a gem for all travelers looking to relax and enjoy the region, and especially suited to those who enjoy quiet nights and early morning dawn patrols at La Pastora or one of the neighboring breaks!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

We were looking for a quite place close to the beach that was pretty much self contained, and we found it at Casa de Olas. It's a great 2 bedroom house. There were 4 of us who stayed there and it was quite comfortable. A well stocked market is nearby for provisions. I love to cook and this place has a well stocked kitchen and nice bar-b-que on the deck. The most amazing feature besides the Pacific Ocean a short walk away, is the rooftop deck. My wife and I would retreat there and watch the stars above and listen to the sea. It was simply a very great experience. At this time of the year it's still a bit warm, but the beach was deserted. We went on long treks on the beach and did not see s soul. This is real Baja Sur. Not Cabo. This is the Frontera, a bit wild and out of the way, but with all the amenities. No AC though, but with ceiling fans and chilling out during the day in the shade or nap on the deck or read takes care of the heat if it bothers you. When the sun starts to go down, get up and play. It was one of the best vacations every. Thanks Paolo!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, people with disabilities, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with young children.

This home was our oasis for 7 days in January 2013. We loved every minute at this house, it was easy to find and had been professionally cleaned right before our arrival. It is a four minute drive to the center of Todos Santos and a short stroll with your morning coffee to the beach. The beach has incredible waves, we listened to the surf crash every night on the shores. There is also a turtle hatchling release place near the house if your timing is right. From the property we had views of the ocean and of the Mountain range. The house has a great layout, and is well stocked in the kitchen far more than other Mexican rentals we rented. The house is completely secure, and all of the neighbours are from different parts of Canada and US. Todos Santos is a beautiful authentic Mexican town with world class dining, or Mexican street food that we enjoyed. We recommend this house, our friend is already planning to stay here this year.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

Just wanted to share how much we enjoyed Casa de la Olas in Todos Santos. We had a great time, although the weather was rather mixed (rain!) and on the cooler side. The beaches with whales and turtles and the quaint village of Todos Santos offered enough diversion… or we simply enjoyed the house, the peaceful surroundings and the beautiful views from the terraces. a wonderful spot! Also a comment about Teresa, the caretaker of the house: We had never seen such efficiency. There was one day when the communal services didn't fill up the water tank of the house. One call to Teresa (on the mexican cell phone that is provided for the guests of the house - very handy!) and within 10 minutes (literally) she was there. Another 2 minutes, she had already someone on the line who was shortly after coming with a water truck and everything was fixed! One more note: The lovely neighbor across the street recommended a massage specialist to us and we all got the most amazing (holistic therapeutic or relax with hot stones) one hour massage (and at a reasonable price and she comes to the house). Just ask Teresa about her. One more thing: Paolo sends out really detailed info of how to get there and other helpful tips before you go. The instructions were all with photos which made it really easy to find the house. It was our first time in Baja and we definitely will be back - hopefully to Casa de las Olas!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children.
Owner response: Thanks so much for the kind words about Casa las Olas. I would like to take some credit for the lovely area but had little hand in that. Hope the weather is perfect for your next trip!

My first time in Todos Santos after living and starting a business in central Mexico. I came to relax, see Baja, and enjoy the Ocean. Paolo's place is kept in top shape. Great garden and views and even though it is very close to downtown Todos Santos it feels secluded and private (thanks to the garden). Easy walk down to the beach were we hardly saw anyone. I have seen many places in Mexico and Paolo has been able to offer the quality and service you would find in the US which is not always easy to accomplish in MX. Highly recommended! Paolo has so much good karma coming his way. Many people are afraid that their money will be taken by fake owners, or not refunded money if tragedy strikes before their trip, NOT PAOLO! The short story is that we had a trip planned for his house. We were bring our 2 month infant and 5 year old. As we checked in United Airlines informed us we would not be going to Mexico because we did not have a passport for our infant ( although 1 month before the trip on the phone a united rep told us all we needed was her live birth letter) Surfboard in town we took a cab back to house in complete shock. This was our first vacation as a family, I was beyond upset and sad. I emailed Paolo right away to let him know our predicament. Within 24 hours he refunded our deposit AND contacted potential renters who had asked him for that week. He copied me on all of the emails, was very honest and went BEYOND what is normal to try to rent his place to someone else so we could recoup our money. He found someone who wanted to take it on short notice and we were given all of our money back. That was the only silver lining in an otherwise horrible situation. I am so grateful to his care of our situation, money and just being a good guy. Thank You. Heidi KDid you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

About: I am Italian (born and raised) and work as a commercial/editorial photographer (if interested google Paolo Marchesi) I have been splitting my life between Montana and Baja. I love the outdoors and both locations allow me to experience nature at its best.
Why Todos Santos:
I fell in love with Baja many years ago when I moved to the states from Italy. I did a 500 miles mountain bike trip off road from the Sea of Cortez to the mountains around Loreto. Many miles of dirt and dust that introduced me to the beauty of Baja. 3 years ago, tired of the long Montana winters I decided it was time to buy a house in Baja and spend more time surfing. My most recent passion. Todos Santos is a great location as it has all the amenities but still gives you access to remote parts of Baja.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
I fell in love with the house as soon as I saw it. It's charming and warm situated in such a nice location. Being able to see La Pastora surf break is a plus. The garden is to die for. Baja can be so dry and harsh and having such a lush garden is a treat. I love watching all the varieties of birds, I can sit on the porch for hours.
I can walk Tobi (my trusty German Short Haired pointer) down to the beach and I can hear the Ocean while I sleep. What else could I ask for?
