At the edge of the seventh arrondissement, on the Left Bank, this bright, spacious apartment with approximately 1500 square feet offers a special "post card" view of the Eiffel Tower from the living room. You will know you are in Paris from the minute you arrive.
The apartment is situated in a 19th-century, Haussman-style building in one of the most elegant and exclusive quarters of Paris and in addition to the "post card" view there are splendid views of tree-lined Avenue de Suffren onto the Champs de Mars on one side and a landscaped park on the other. It is within walking distance of the Eiffel Tower, Champs de Mars, the Seine, and the Ecole Militaire with plenty of shops, restaurants, bistros, cafes, and supermarkets located in the immediate vicinity.
This recently renovated and professionally decorated, two-bedroom/study apartment offers an elegant, 19th-century, Parisian residence with parquet floors, 12-foot ceilings, and architectural features typical of the period.
The apartment is entered through the grand foyer which leads to the spacious, living room furnished with a sofa, two wing-back chairs, two Louis XV chairs, cable television, accent tables, lamps and an oriental rug, and the dining room which is furnished with a Chinese Chippendale table, and chairs seating eight.
There are beautiful, period, accent pieces, mirrors, and Oriental rugs in the dining room and grand foyer, and there is a powder room with toilet and lavatory off the grand foyer. The study is furnished with a desk, sofa, end tables, lamps, and accent pieces.
The master bedroom includes a king-size bed, bedside tables with reading lamps, an inlaid bombé chest, cable television, and a sitting area with two chairs, table, and lamp. The second bedroom provides two twin-size beds, a center bedside table, a reading lamp, a chest, and an en suite bathroom with shower and lavatory. And yes, each bedroom has a closet with an extra closet next to the study. The full bathroom is spacious and contains a bathtub, bidet, toilet, and double lavatory
The kitchen contains a refrigerator, stove, dishwasher, washer, dryer, microwave, and coffeemaker. It is fully equipped for cooking including china, glasses, cutlery, and a small table and chairs for a quick, or leisurely, breakfast to help start your day properly.
We think you will also appreciate the Peacock Alley bed linens and covers, the abundance of pillows, and the plush bathroom towels.
For the antique and art lover, the Village Suisse is only a few minutes walk. There is an open-air market on Wednesday and Sunday mornings a few minutes walk from the apartment on Boulevard de Grenelle at Avenue de la Motte-Picquet and another on Thursday and Saturday mornings directly behind the Ecole Militaire on Avenue de Saxe at Avenue de Segur. They are a real slice of Parisian life and you will find a wide assortment of local items and products at these markets including cheeses, produce, olives, olive oil, meats, sausage, bread, fish, spices, cookware, and clothing.
An entrance to the Metro station Motte-Picquet Grenelle is just around the corner and less than a three-minute walk. This station is served by three different lines with Line Ten whisking you directly to the heart of the Saint Germain des Pres district on the Left Bank, while Line Eight takes you directly to the Right Bank and the Champs Elysées and Place de la Concorde, and Line Six takes you directly to the Trocadéro or Montparnasse. And, if you must have an American fix while you are in Paris, the Hilton Hotel is just up the street, also on Avenue de Suffren. |
