The High Country Lodge proved to be an ideal setting for our small family wedding, we couldn't have asked for more. We had 4 generations of family (25 people in all) for 4 nights and could not be happier with the experience, plenty of space to gather together and to get away for some quite time. Patrick and Petra, the owners/operators of the property, were great. They went above and beyond through out our stay. The lodge was spotless, the property and views beautiful, the location excellent (only a few minutes drive to downtown) and their catered meal was delicious. The on-line pictures don't do the lodge justice, the living and dining areas proved to be much larger then I expected. The outdoor deck space and hot tub were just what we were looking for. I wouldn't hesitate for a second to highly recommend this property to anyone interested in spending time in Breckenridge. Thanks again Patrick & Petra for everything!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with young children, age 55+, girls getaway, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, people with disabilities, sightseeing.

Nick and I choose to have our wedding weekend at A High Country Lodge mainly because of the host, Patrick who is incredible at making your stay the most relaxed and enjoyable stay ever. He is a very personable guy who is more than happy to make your wedding day or weekend stay define who are and what you are looking for. He helped us create a day that we will never forget; with the hand made benches, beautiful aspen arch, delicious eggs benedict and vegan french toast with juicy fruit and an incredible dinner: elk burgers served with homemade yam fries and kale chips. This man knows how to do it all! Pat and his wife have designed and decorated the lodge to create a warm and homey atmosphere in which any one who comes whether for a ski vacation or wedding would love to stay longer. Nick and I would only change one thing about our wedding weekend and that would be instead of staying only three nights with family and friends we wish we would have stayed longer!! It was absolutely incredible! The listing description was right on! The photos perfeclty reflected the appearance and amenities. Very well cleaned and maintained! Pat was extremely helpful at answering any questions! Oh I will be sure to tell everyone to go there for any reunions, weddings, family events, etc. Pat suggested Sevens Restaurant to us for our "rehearsal dinner" and it was amazing. Pat knows all the places in Breck and beyond and does a great job helping you find thins to do too! SKIING A-Basin, Keystone, and Breck are always great options!!!!!!!!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with young children, tourists without a car, age 55+, girls getaway, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, sightseeing.

We just got back from our stay at A High Country Lodge in Breckenridge. I was throwing a surprise 40th birthday party for my wife and we needed a large place for all of our friends and family to come. I found HCL on VRBO and decided that this woudl be a good place for all of us. Throughout the rental process, Patrick was cordial and very helpful. But when we got to the house we were amazed. The place is huge and private. The interior is a perfect rustic mountain style lodge. It was big enough for us to have a party in the party room, yet so big that when we retreated to the bedrooms, we had privacy and could hardly hear what else was going on in the house. Having the ski medallions was really cool too. Patrick and his wife Petra went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable. The house had everything, towels, dishes, plenty of appliances, board games, books, lots of tv's, enough firewood to last a full winter. We didn't need anything! Thank you Patrick! I can't wait to rent it again!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with young children, age 55+, girls getaway, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, sightseeing.

We were seeking the ultimate wedding adventure for us and our closest family and friends in Breckenridge, CO. After exhausting what seemed to be all the local resources, we luckily found A High County Lodge... and Patrick! The house, amazing! The owner's, extremely easy to work with and to top it off, Patrick was our personal chef. To our surprise, we had the best meals we have ever had in our lives. Everyone who attending the wedding can't stop talking about the views, service, size of the house, professionalism, fun and the amazing chef, Patrick. We couldn't have asked for a better wedding destination that created an adventure for everyone and memories for a lifetime. Each and every one of us can't stop talking about future family reunions, holiday gatherings or another wedding to plan here at A High Country Lodge. I can't thank Patrick and Petra enough for the time, efforts and planning they helped us with planning our big day. Our words can't explain the amazing experience we had and the memories we left with. Our wishes came true, thanks to Patrick and Petra!Recommended for: Families with young children, girls getaway, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, sightseeing.

The pictures didn't do it justice. Fantastic property tucked on the side of the mounting overlooking the Breckenridge valley. The house itself is huge. The kitchen and awesome outdoor grille easily served the 30+ people we had every day (i think we did about 15 meals out of that kitchen without any issue). Only a few minutes from downtown Breckenridge.... just the right distance. The owners are very involved, and were available to help as needed. I couldn't find a meat thermometer and Patrick came and made sure I had one. In the many times I've rented houses from VRBO i can't say I've ever had that type of service. I could keep going on and on, but I'll leave it simply: I will definitely stay here again.Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, girls getaway, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, sightseeing.

The lodge was outstanding, well exceeded expectations. Beautiful scenery. Deck was amazing. Very clean and well-maintained. The property owner was professional and most helpful. The directions to the property were excellent. I would highly recommend this property for any large family gathering. The kitchen and cooking utensils were awesome. Outdoor door grill was perfect! We prepared and ate most of our meals at the lodge. I played golf at Breckenridge Golf Club...excellent condition and challenging. Enjoyed hiking around the property and had a fun ninety minute horseback ride. Great shopping and many excellent restaurants in Breckenridge.Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, families with teenagers, sightseeing.

We loved our stay at A High Country Lodge. With over 30 people ranging from senior citizen to infant and everywhere in between, we were delighted to have a place that accomodated us so well. The views were magnificent and rooms/beds were very comfortable. The lodge was perfect for our one person in a wheel chair, had ample space for everyone to gather, or separate as needed and/or wanted. The hot tub was enjoyed immensely as well. Patrick was a great host, taking care of everything and making sure we were aware of all the house rules and needs, which were all very reasonable. We plan on coming back for our next reunion to this perfect spot in Breckenridge. We LOVED it.Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, people with disabilities.

My work collegues and I recently stayed in the High Country Lodge for an offsite work retreat. The lodge easily accommodated 15 adults and was extremely clean upon arrival. The listing description and photos were very accurate of the property. The lodge was very well maintained and Patrick checked-in on us every morning to remove the trash and see if we needed anything for our stay. Our favorite part about the lodge was the large deck with a huge grill and spectacular mountain views!! We never left the Lodge for meals...we chose to grill outside and enjoy the fresh mountain air! Thank you Patrick and Petra for a wonderful stay!Recommended for: Families with young children, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, sightseeing.
