Take in the unbelievable view of the mountains reflected in the deep water of Lake Chatuge from inside the house. Or go on out to the private covered dock and swim, fish, boat, kayak or just sit in the swing and enjoy reading a good book or magazine. This house has lots of full length windows to enjoy the spectacular sights.
Every bedroom has a deck or balcony to relax and enjoy the views. The bedroom loft has a private balcony, full bed that sleeps 2 people and a lounge chair that converts into a single bed that would be appropriate for a child. There is a half bath on this level with a closet and plenty of room to move about.
The main level where everyone gathers, is a large open floor plan with stacked stone fireplace offering a large wood stove to snuggle up to on chilly nights. Cable TV, DVD player, CD player, and stereo equipment are all provided.
In the dining area, a large table seats six to eight people so everyone can dine together and two additional places at the kitchen bar provides many areas to enjoy. The kitchen is fully equipped with all the utensils you need if you enjoy cooking.
Two bedrooms are located in the lower level. The master bedroom with a queen size bed is a large cheery room with outside deck for sitting at the bistro table and enjoying the view. Two large closets provide lots of room for storing suitcases and hanging clothes. The large connecting bathroom offers jetted tub and separate shower.
Another bedroom on the lower level provides two single twin beds with a mini refrigerator to stock drinks, etc. Walk out on the deck under the covered area with fan to keep cool in the warmer weather.
The quiet town of Hiawassee is a lovely place to explore. So many little shops, antique stores and upscale shops. Many restaurants to choose from in all price ranges. Boat marinas, golfing, hiking the Appalachian Trail, exploring the famous Bavarian village of Helen, GA., Funworld (for kids and teens) and so much more.
Come and see why so many come back year after year.

We had a wonderful stay. The weather cooperated, the kids had a blast playing on the dock. The house is absolutely gorgeous. There is plenty of open cabinet space for you to put not only your groceries., but also your personal items. The photos posted definitely do acurately show the home, which is immaculate and well maintained. It was a pleasure to deal with the owners. I definitely recommend this lovely vacation spot. So relaxing. Fishing was great and the water was a great place to swim or float about. Town is only a few minutes away and has a great Ingles grocery store as well as a DQ and lots of other stores and antique shops.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, families with young children.

We stayed for three nights over Memorial weekend. Absolutely loved the house! The floor plan was large and open, and everything was exceptionally clean. My kids loved fishing out on the dock and caught dozens of fish. We rented a jet ski for a day and had a blast. The decks off each bedroom was a very nice touch. The view of the lake and mountains is beautiful and peaceful. We couldn't have asked for a better family getaway. Thank you!Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, families with young children.

Loved your house. It was even better than we expected - very clean, comfortable and lovely. Sun rise from our balcony was breathtaking. We visited Lake Chatuge 10 years ago and were much more impressed with the lake this time.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, families with young children.
Owner response: Our home has decks which face the mountains and Lake Chatuge. It will be a great year to visit our home and take in the gorgeous views and have fun on the lake.

Why the Owner Chose Hiawassee:
Our family began vacationing in Hiawassee, GA when the children were in middle school. We always rented a condo and would look at the gorgeous scenery and say if we ever had a chance we would love to own property on the lake. We had a chance to acquire our home a few years later and have been coming to the mountains since.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
We enjoy swimming and boating on the lake, then taking a break to grill out for lunch. Everyone takes turns in a friendly ping pong competition or shopping in the quaint town of Hiawassee. Of course the Georgia Mountain Fair in July draws people to the fairgrounds for exciting musical performances, crafts and funnelcakes.
