This cute little cottage is ideal for the touring couple (and a couple of kids) although we have slept nine - (they brought their own tent). It has one bedroom plus a sofabed.
The property has been renovated to a high standard with modern conveniences, polished wood floors and oak beams, its a great home base where you can put your feet up after a day's exploring, whether it be a stroll down a country lane or a day trip to an ancient town, castle or monastery or a great excuse to demolish some French cheeses and become a wine expert.
Located near the medieval towns of Dinan and Mont St Michael, 25 minute drive to Rennes and only 15 minutes to St. Malo with its ferry terminal servicing England and Jersey, sandy beaches are nearby.
This 300 year old cottage is situated at the rear of a quiet farming hamlet, set in its own grounds the garden runs down to the Tertre Guy stream which meanders through acres of beech and oak forest. There's plenty of space to park your car. The walking tracks are well marked, and the cottage is close to a world class golf course and prehistoric megalithic construction at Tresse (a short walk). The local town is St. Pierre de Plesguen, sporting a supermarket, butcher, baker, (candle stick maker?), bars, restaurant, bank, post office, pharmacy etc. and makes for a nice walk to visit its 12th century church.
Bread and grocery vans stop at the end of the driveway. Fresh milk and the best eggs can be purchased from the main farm opposite the letter boxes. Consumption of utilities has been allowed for in the rental rate based on historical averages; excessive use of gas, water and electricity will be charged at cost and deducted from the security bond.
If your looking for a real northern French country experience, this is it! |
