Salvadonica is located on the green and sunny hills of the Tuscan countryside, from where a spectacular view over the Chianti landscape unfolds before your eyes.
You will only be a few km from Florence (18), Siena (45), San Gimignano (46) and so many other nice places to visit and local market and farmhouses to discover.
Francesca & Beatrice will assist you during your staying in the lovely region, the two sister will be glad to give you all the precious information about the nicest places and the attractions of Chianti and all the Tuscany region.
A fresh breakfast buffet in the morning will be the right start for your day in Tuscany!
The houses composing the little hamlet have recently been restored carefully respecting the integrity of the traditional peasant house architecture with its typical terracotta floor and the wooden rafters.
A swimming-pool and a tennis court as well as a lovely practice green for golfers are at the disposal of our Guests among olive groves, vineyards and green lawns.
The high-quality olive oil and the production of the celebrated Chianti wine are a further attraction for all visitors coming to this enchanting place in the Tuscan countryside.
The apartment:
The apartment S2 (2+2) is one of the type of accommodation you can find in Salvadonica: it's located on the ground floor with view over the marvellous countryside; it is composed by a comfortable bedroom with a large double bed, private bathroom with shower and a large living area with a double sofa-bed for 2 people and cooking facilities with two electric rings, sink, refrigerator and all the stuff you need to prepare and eat a regular italian meal. Linen and bath towels are in the apartment, pool towels on request. This apartment is one of two in a small stone house on the way to the pool (40 metres).
Cleaning is made daily (eccept on Sunday - eventually on request).
The garden is common to other apartments, very spacious and furnished with chairs, sun beds, umbrellas and many private areas and gazebo to get relax and enjoy the astonishing panorama.
During the day there is a light lunch service (available until 4pm) with salads, Tuscan dishes, bruschetta, sandwiches, salami and cheese as well as drinks and tasting of our wine production.
We have different kinds of apartment for 2/3/4 people and lovely regular rooms for 2/3 people (with no kitchenette).
The nearest village is Mercatale val di Pesa (only 1km) with all kind of shops and services (bank, pharmacy, post office, restaurants, bus stop). San Casciano is 4 away and it's a bigger village with a lovely market every Monday. There is a cinema and a theatre as well as many good restaurants and trattorias.
You will see that food and wine are very important for the Italians. Francesca & Beatrice will be glad to suggest all the best places to taste the nicest dishes and will also provide for reservations.

- The tiny village of Salvadonica has its origin in the fourteenth Century. The oldest part of the estate is probably the stone building with the small tower. Later, as agricultural activities expanded, the main house and other buildings were added. Numerous farming families who worked for the Corsinis lived in the principal red building as well as the stone one. Nearby are the buildings used for agricultural activities and breeding, the stone hay-loft, the little pigsty (porcile), and the “vinsataia” where vinsanto, the famous sweet Tuscan wine was stored. In 1981 the Baccettis purchased the entire estate of Salvadonica and decided to bring it back to its original splendor. Restoration took nearly 3 years, and was completed preserving the architectural characteristics of the original old farm houses -- the same materials and colors were used and complemented by a few modern touches.

- Pets Considered : Dogs are very welcome, we have one small sweet dog, her name is Scheggia and everybody loves her. Your dogs can stay with you in your room (we can provide a "bed" for them), you can walk with them everywhere eccept in the breakfast room.
- Wheelchair Accessible : We have two rooms available wheelchair accessible, both on groundfloor with open bathroom with shower. Breakfast room easy access, swimmingpool accessible by a stone path (help needed).
- Children Welcome : Kids can find their spaces to play and run in safety. The wood is a magical place to discover, a small playground for kids available as weel as real grass football field, let's play!
- Non Smoking Only : All our rooms and apartments are no smoking. Smoking is only allowed in open areas.

Why the Owner Chose San Casciano in Val di PesaBeatrice and I were born in Florence, though it is not a too chaotic city, it is still a city. We love the countryside, its slow, wide panoramas, the healthy quality of the air and natural way of life. In addition Salvadonica is really close to so many beautiful places, when we want to go shopping or to see people or just “miss a little' traffic”... in a few minutes we are in town. Especially since we have our own children we realized how beautiful and relaxing life can be in the country.
The Unique Benefits at this FarmhouseAll we need to find some peace and relax in this life that always seems to go too fast, and the countryside, especially the Chianti area, looks just made for that. The rolling hills around Salvadonica invite you to relax by the pool, read a good book or simply enjoy a good glass of wine produced right here, perhaps with a fresh tomato bruschetta topped with a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil. Small gestures that make a memorable stay in Salvadonica. Don’t forget to visit Florence, Siena and San Gimignano as well as the cities of Pisa and Lucca just a few steps away. Than good bargain in the local markets or luxury shopping in the outlet nearby (Armani, Gucci, Valentino, Prada, Fendi and so on jus 40/50 minutes from Salvadonica).

Hi, we are Francesca & Beatrice, two Florentine sisters that more than 20 years ago (o mamma mia… we were so young at that time) came in Chianti to open the doors of their country house to all those who were in search of traditions, peace and beauty. When we started this business, with the inexperience, the curiosity and the madness of young girls, we thought it was easy to host. We realized very quickly that those who came in Chianti was not satisfied with just a nice room but Guests needed a different set of experiences and treatments than just a “regular tourist”. We have therefore tried to refine our knowledge of the area and offer our personal touch in the reception and hospitality. We believe we are on the right way, away from 1990 up to now we had many satisfactions and it is still a great desire to continue on this path.
