11 years ago three men met and become fast friends at Naval flight school. Three weddings, 10 deployments, many moves and 6 kids later we remain best of friends. This week was one of refreshment, reacquaintence and rejuvination. Thank-you for for sharing your beautiful home as we spent the week praising God for the many blessings He has bestowed upon us .

WE loved this place and don't want to leave. Such a quiet beautiful retreat from the stress of "real life". We hope we can return and spend more time exploring on our bikes. Thanks Kathy for accomodating our schedule.

This spot is paradise and house is so spacious and beautiful. We enjoyed our days of swimming and sailing. We feel fortified and ready to go back to work. The beauty fo this visit will stay imprinted in my mind's eye.

Thank-you for our 4th summer family gathering at North by Northwest! We treasure our time together in the Paradise retreat! We walked the beach, shopped, went boating in Lake Leelanau and golfed. What great memories!

This was our 2nd year at the lake house and what a great time we've had. We took both our parents this year...good food..good wine. The sunsets have been great, and our boys enjoyed playing in the waves. Barb's Bakery was also a plus. We have hiked, shopped, wine tasted and watched the lake. Thank-you for a great house and thanks to Kathy for taking care of it. See you again!!

WOW!! What a wonderful week that we had up here. Thank-you for providing such a nice cottage and the good Lord blessed us with nice weather. Our family and friends enjoyed the beach and looking for petoskey stones, watching birds and bicycling. We highly recommend this place!

We enjoyed the time in your house so very much. Thanks for allowing us to stay here, we appreciated that everything was so cozy and well organized. While we were in your house we enjoyed the view , especially the sunsets. The beautiful surrounding invites to nice events: Northport, Leland and the Sleeping Bear dunes are worth a visit, the vineries too....(Germans love vine...) A great house a great time!

We have loved staying here.. the well stocked kitchen, the wall of windows, the 2nd TV in bedroom,the very comfy deck chairs . We had a blast exploring the area: wine tasting tour, watching the sunsets, bike riding,dinner at North Country in Suttons Bay, driving to the lighthouse, walking around Northport, watching the Uof M MSU game (even though Uof M lost ) , playing yahzee. The only thing missing was a good tool to turn the logs in the fireplace, othe than that we loved every minute of our stay!! Thank you

Thank-you for another awesome week ( we were here in 2008) Last weekend there were 14 of us and we were all so comfortable! Because of the warm summer the lake was almost bath water temp and we walked for hours finding beautiful stones and petoskeys. Again thank-you for sharing your slice of Gods country with us ...we loved every minute.

This was our familys first UNITED TOUR "Up North Tours of Distinction" We were thrilled with the accommondations and the access to Lake Michigan. You have thought of everything in supplying the cottage (the poison ivy lotion came in handy) We will definitely recommend you to friends and hope to return in the future. It has been a fabulous week here at north-by-northwest . The clean fresh air, the marvelous beach (Lake MI is the best) the stars at night and looking for treasures are some of our favorite things. Combined with all the comforts of modern living in a beautiful home nestled into a secluded peacful L-MI dune / forest have made this a very memorable and happy week for us all!! Thanks for sharing

Our 3rd vacaton together in your cozy comfortable inviting cottage. Each year just gets better. We six sisters and three husbands treasure our times here. We revert to our "little girl" selves and share so many stories and so much laughter!! This year we saw an "angel" in the clouds , two deer on the dune, and spectacular sunsets. Thank-you ! We had so much fun this week! We went to the beach and walked down to cathead point a few times. We found petoskey stones. We had game night and saw whitecaps on the water. Thanks for the great time.

What a wonderful week here. We enjoyed cherry picking and petoskey stone hunting (our children have become expert hunters).We enjoyed our meals overlooking the spectacular view and many a good night sleep in your comfortable beds.As we leave tomorrow we will take with us a treasure chest of memories that will last a lifetime.

Our second summer to spend a week together is your fabulous cottage, and we plan to return next summer! Such a beautiful magical spot for the six sisters and their husbands to relax...a little bit of heaven. We especially love walking the beach, walking in the woods, reading and doing puzzels on the deck. There is so much to see and do, the highlight for us was watching the amazing sunsets. Thank-you

Thank-you for the rest, relaxation, beautiful atmosphere and well supplied house. We enjoyed everthing from making sand castles, finding beach glass and petoskey stones to roasting marshmellows. Dear Gartner Family, We are rock buffs and at present 2 of us have collected 200 Petoskey stones. What a blast! I am an antique collector but love to display them the most. You have the perfect touch! I just opened a museum in my home town and next year will open 2 museums in my 100 year old barn. Our family has never had so much fun on Lake Michigan or been hosted to such a retreat. I want to thank my son Steven Seydell of Chicago for arranging this. We enjoyed the view on the beach so much that we took at least 55 pictures of the family which was 53 pictures & 25 minutes more than the children were promised! Relatives from California, Texas, & all over the Great State of Michigan gathered for bonfires, cookouts, swimming, petoskey-stone-hunting, frisbee & movie-watching. Dear Laurie, What can I say that has not already been said? But here I go: Great week. Beautiful cottage. Gorgeous beach. Delightful weather. We spent many hours in the water and on the beach. No need to invent outings for paradise is here complete with white sand and sunsets. The firepit was an evenings worth of singing, eating, laughing and talking. Such a great place to get in shape with all the jogging, swimming, biking and hiking. We are rejuvenated and renewed and ready to take anything on! Your house on the bluff is a gentle reminder of the charm of the past.
