Relax in large great room with 50' TV area in front of the gas fireplace with the overstuffed L-shaped couch. A large game room downstairs with pool table and if you do not play pool, try your hand at air hockey. For the ones that need a little more pampering, there is the steaming outdoor hot tub on the lower deck. We are constantly upgrading everything so we have a quality home to visit when you are not there.
Why this cabin and owners info: We chose this cabin and the area because it is close to entertainment, minutes from the National Park, but in the quiet of the woods. We also decided the views over the mountains was not worth not having an area to walk around. If you have the giant views, you drive up to a property, walk into the house. The house is hanging off the side of a mountain and you can only be in the house or on the porch. That was just not what we wanted.
We have taken early retirement to enjoy life and travel. Bear Creek Lodge is a source of pride for us and we work very hard to be good hosts to all our guests. Peyton loves rebuilding old cars. He has a 1939 Master Deluxe Chevrolet streetrod and Martha has an original red 1987 560SL convertible with hardtop. Martha loves entertaining, walking, water aerobics, and time with our 2 sons, daughter-in-law and granddaughter.
We also have an 800 sq ft guest house in Charleston SC we rent. 1 King BR with TV, full kitchen, LR/DR, swimming pool, washer/dryer.

This cabin was great! We are a group of friends who stay each year in a cabin for our annual get together. The amenities and great price of Bear Creek Lodge were perfect for us. Each couple had their own bedroom and bath, plus plenty of common space to spread out or get together for TV, chatting, eating, or games. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes, glasses, cups, pots, pans, etc., all that was needed. The location was perfect as well, easy to the Park, Cades Cove, Gatlinburg, and Pigeon Forge. Martha and Peyton were most helpful, promptly answering e-mails and assisting in anyway possible. We had a wonderful time, and would highly recommend this cabin! Tip: Use the directions given by Martha and Peyton - they were right on! Thanks, Martha and Peyton, for a great trip!!!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

This cabin is awesome! Very nice and clean. The pictures portray cabin well. We had 8 adults.Plenty of room for us to all be together. The beds are extremely comfortable. The cabin is very sound proof. The location is only about 15 minutes from Pigeon Forge, but far enough out so you are away from all the traffic. Centrally located for Townsend and Cades Cove also. Martha and Peyton are great to work with. They will answer any questions and help you with any locations of activities that you might be interested in. It rained a lot and was very cool while we were there so we didn't get to enjoy the decks very much but it is beautiful there. Would definitely stay here again.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, adventure seekers.

Our family had a great time while staying in Bear Creek Lodge. There is enough room/space for everyone to have their privacy, to enjoy the rocking chairs on the porches and grilling/picnic tables, and to also gather together in the gameroom and kitchen/sitting areas. It is in a beautiful location also. The owners were very easy to contact and extremely efficient in correspondence. The cabin is beautifully furnished and very clean and comfortable. We drove into Cades Cove and actually saw several bear in addition to the horses, deer, and turkey. I would definitely recommend this cabin to anyone who likes to be off the beaten path and enjoys the mountains. We highly recommend this cabin to everyone. Three generations stayed here for four nights and everyone was happy the entire time. The listing and pictures are accurate and the cabin was clean, cozy, and comfortable. We only wish we hadn't had so much other stuff to do so we could have enjoyed "just being" in the cabin a little more. Loved the rockers on the porch, the kids loved watching the tadpoles in the pond (and seeing the bear paw prints around it!), we all loved the private bedrooms each with their own bath. Martha and Payton were wonderful to work with...All in all, a great place, and we will spread the word to others. Thanks for sharing your home with us!Recommended for: Girls getaway, families with young children, tourists without a car, families with teenagers, sightseeing, age 55+, adventure seekers.

at a wonderful location for a family outing! Three generations enjoyed the amenities afforded by this cabin. It provided privacy for anyone who desired it, yet offered space for family meals and gatherings. The owner has provided entertainment for a rainy day (i.e., pool table, air hockey, Texas holdum, multitple TVs, wifi, telephone with unlimited national calling, hot tub, library), and the area provided multiple activities for everyone's tastes(i.e. Splash Country, Dollywood, Smokies, shopping, restaurants, animal sightings in the park). The listing description and the photos were very, very accurate. The property was very clean and well kept with a touch of "warmth and comfort." I would definitely recommend this cabin to anyone and everyone. Our only regret was that we did not book it for a longer period of time.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

We have nothing but good things to say about our stay in Bear Creek Lodge. It is located far enough out of Pigeon Forge that it truely feels like a get-a-way but close enough to enjoy all the attractions of Pigeon Forge and Gattlinburg. The cabin itself is beautiful and stocked with anything you may need. The bedrooms are very large and the beds themselves are extremely comforable with soft comfy sheets. Martha and Peyton were a pleasure to work with and are very considerate and have done a wonderful job to make sure everyone's stay is a pleasure.Did you find this review helpful? This is our second time staying in this absolutely wonderful cabin. If you are looking for a relaxing and beautiful place in a very comfortable, clean and well furnished cabin....THIS IS THE PLACE. All the rooms are large and have top quality furniture. Each bedroom has its own bathroom. Kitchen is very well equipped. Game room with pool table and air hockey was fun. Go outside and relax by rocking on the spacious porch or getting in hot tub. Enjoyed Dollywood, Cades Cove and Metcalf Bottoms....or just relaxing at the cabin. Great time in a great place...will return.Recommended for: Girls getaway, romantic getaway, families with young children, families with teenagers, sightseeing, age 55+, adventure seekers.

My family and I just returned from a 7 night visit at this wonderful cabin. Packing up and leaving this beautiful and comfortable cabin was truly painful. Very difficult to leave paradise and return back to our hectic lives. We spent many hours sitting in the rockers waiting for our four legged visitors which typically showed up at dusk. We especially enjoyed the grill and the convenient picnic tables on the top level. We have stayed in numerous cabins in the Wears Valley area and definitly consider this one to be at the top of our list. Martha and Peyton were more than helpful with any request and I now consider them to be our friends.Recommended for: Girls getaway, romantic getaway, families with young children, families with teenagers, sightseeing, age 55+, adventure seekers.
Owner response: We are delighted that you had a great stay at the cabin. As you know, we work hard to be good hosts and to keep our home in tip top shape. We also love sitting, rocking and listening to the peace and quiet and laughter of our friends and family. Thanks again, Martha and Peyton

About the owner: .We have taken early retirement to enjoy life and travel. Bear Creek Lodge is a source of pride for us and we work very hard to be good hosts to all our guests. Rental # 3495679 on Homeaway.com 1 King BR with TV, full kitchen, LR/DR/TV/WiFi, swimming pool, washer/dryer
Why the Owner Chose Wears Valley:
We chose Wears Valley because it is close to Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg with all the activity, but in the mountains making it quite and relaxing with the wildlife. We particularly love the National Park and Cades Cove that is free to all. We chose Bear Creek Lodge because each BR has a private bath and we both love listening to the stream. We specifically liked the fact that we had property to walk around upon rather than a driveway to a cabin that hangs off the mountain and nowhere to walk around and explore.
The Unique Benefits at this Cabin:
Since owning the cabin, we have constantly upgraded everything to enjoy as our home away from home. You will not be disappointed. We have a great staff that takes care of our home. Minutes from hiking in the Smoky Mountain National Park and Cades Cove - free entertainment for the family. http://www.nps.gov/grsm/planyourvisit/cadescove.htm
