Shipshewana Lodging at our Lake cabin. Our home is absolutly gorgeous custom built home just minutes from downtown Shipshewana . We boast some of the area’s best golfing, fishing, canoeing, kayaking, boating, cross country skiing, and total relaxation! Lake Effect is our saying and that is our Goal for you as you spend some time here on one of Indiana's cleanest lakes. There is much fun and recreation here at our little paradise and we want to share it with you. Whether relaxing sipping coffee on the 40 ft lakeside front porch or Bird watching from the quiet, serene, rear patio you are sure to experience the peace and tranquility Nestle Inn has to offer. Check out the picture of the rear patio. This is the place that gives nestled inn her name. It is so relaxing and peaceful on the patio its just to hard to describe, it must be experienced. At the dock we have pontoon boat that you are welcome to sit on, fish from or enter the lake from . The front seats of the pontoon lay down to make a comfortable lounge seat it’s the perfect place to get the perfect tan. Lounging on the pontoon boat at dockside is one of our favorite hangout places. We have a fire pit so you can have a evening campfire, there is something special about sitting around a campfire with family and friends. When you are here this is your home. Included is 2 Kayaks you can use to explore the beauty of South Twin Lake or a row boat to try your luck at fishing. . Located nearby is the Heritage Trail Amish County where you can take a trip back in time & enjoy a 80 mile audio tour through main streets of Quaint Towns & Amish country back roads. If Notre Dame Lodging is what you are looking for this is a great place to stay. The campus is just a short 50 min drive down 80/90 we offer low rates compared to what you would spend in or nearer to South Bend.

We just returned from a four day stay at the Nestled Inn and it was wonderful. Mike and Linda are so friendly and wanted to do whatever they could to make sure our vacation was all it could be. The home was more than we expected. We felt so at home and we were not lacking anything. The lake is so relaxing. Thank you so much for sharing your home with my husband, myself and friends. The house was very clean and included everything we needed for a weeks vacation get-away. We explored the area by taking the "Heritage Driving Tour" recommended at the Shipshewana Traveler Center and found so much to do in the area. Every afternoon we returned to the house to enjoy a swim in the lake and take out the kayaks. The neighbors were very friendly and even gave us directions for our daily bike rides. The owner, Mike was very prompt in returning my phone call regarding operating the satelite TV.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

We love driving around the countryside and viewing beautiful Amish farms with their beautiful gardens and flowers. We especially love to watch the Amish children being pulled on the wagon by a miniature pony. The Kayaks are a awesome way relax and view the lake. We love to watch the turtles and beavers at the west end of the lake you can get quite close. In closing I would like to say we have the best neighbors one could ask for. We really enjoyed our stay here--description and photos accurately describe and show the home/lake. The lake is clean, and excellent for swimming. The home was equipped with just about everything you need for a comfortable stay. Loved having a washer/dryer and A/C especially! Just a short drive to Shipshewana, where we enjoyed the flea market, Essenhaus Restaurant, and other shops and restaurants. The owners were excellent to rent from. We plan on returning next summer!Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

We just returned from a week at the Nestled Inn and it was everything we had hoped for and so much more. The photos and description of house/location were spot on! If you are looking for relaxation, this is most definitely the place. As one neighbor said to us, "It's very easy to be here." Within a few hours, I could feel the stress melting away. It was such a joy to wake up to the beautiful scenery of the lake each morning. Our girls, both 12, had a blast...within a few hours of our arrival, they were in the lake looking for turtles and swimming. They kayaked for the 1st time, and spent many hours fishing either from the boat or the dock itself. We couldn't get over how clean and wam the lake was! It is great that Mike and Linda allow guests to use their pontoon boat...we did take it out for 2 days fishing, but the rest of the time, we thoroughly enjoyed just sitting on it reading in the sun and relaxing. We went into Shipshewana to the flea market one day, and another day for lunch, but the rest of the time, we spent relaxing...just what we needed. Mike and Linda were very easy to work with, even allowing us to check in a bit early. I would highly recommend the Nestled Inn...we will most definitely be back in the future!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

Was just at his home for a short get-a-way with a friend. Wow! Loved this place! Couldn't asked for a better place to stay! The lake is BEAUTIFUL! The home was WONDERFUL! Heading back to the same home today for the weekend with other friends : ) So excited to go back! This place is so relaxing, yet there is lots to do and see back in Shipshewana. This has to be the best kept secret of the Shipseewanna area. VRBO has never let me down on finding rentals in my travels but this has to be my all time favorite. Thank you for opening up your home to us. I am glad your grandkids did not want you to sell. We can not wait to come again and hope we can stay longer. Your yard is beautiful and the inside perfect for a relaxing get away. Thank you for making your home affordable for the average family. We just spent four days at Nestle Inn and loved it! The house is lovely and as soon as we walked in the door we felt at home. It was a cozy haven to return to each day after seeing the sights and exploring the back roads of Amish country. The lake was beautiful morning and evening, and we enjoyed unseasonably warm weather during our stay. This is not like the lake cottages I remember from my childhood - furnished with saggy furniture and mismatched dishes! This is a beautiful home, well furnished and decorated with love. Best of all the mattresses were so comfy!!!!!! My husband and I, and my sister and brother-in-law had a wonderful stay. We'll be checking our calendars to see when we can return to Nestle Inn again!Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

We had a wonderful time at your vacation home! It is such a beautiful home with a relaxing atmosphere and beautiful view of the lake. So many things to do in the area for all ages. Our little great niece took her first steps in your home! She explored every inch of the place and got to take here first boat ride, thanks to the gracious neighbors! They were awesome! What more can we say about your beautiful home. We had a wonderful time and felt like we were truly at our own home. The home, the decorating, the front and back yards, the birds, the animals, the area, everything about your home is just perfect. We consider ourselves so lucky to have found it. As you know, we are coming back at the end of September to enjoy the fall colors and take in more of the area. Who knows, we may be back again in the winter. I'll bet the lake and trees are beautiful in the winter with the snow. About the owner: This is a picture of Mike and Linda with our 4 beautiful Grandaughter's. We bought this place as a cottage and renovated it into a beautiful 2 br custom built ranch home. After we retired we lived here full time for a while. However we missed living near our children, grandchildren and family. Because of this we have moved back to our hometown and having the time of our lives. We have decided not to sell our little piece of heaven so we will keep it and share it. Why the Owner Chose Shipshewana:
We came to the area from S.E. Mich . For years it was our favorite vacation destination. We love the shipshewana area with all the things to do and see. We cant get over some of the bargains you come across while shopping. Still today we never grow tired of visiting and cant wait for the next trip to Shipshe. At one time I told the Grandchildren we were going to sell the Lake Home they started crying. Now we are going to keep it and share it.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
The Lake is just steps right out the front door. The view is incredable and un-obstrucued. South Twin is not only a beautiful blue lake, it is one of Indiana's cleanest. You can fish and swim from the dock or off the land. Our lake lot is deeded access and is not open to the general public. We have 2 Kayaks and a rowboat included with your stay so you can explore the beauties that South Twin Lake has to offer or try you luck at fishing. Watch for a Soaring Eagle swooping down to catch a fish. Or a Otter that loves to swim along Kayak as though he wants to play. From the quiet serene back yard patio you can view a abundance of birds that visit our feeders. Pileated Wood Peckers, Baltamore Orioles, blue birds, and a host of unique birds. The Finches are so tame they let you sit right there while they feed. Humming birds are frequent visitors with 4 or 5 at a time fighting over the feeders. Fish Spieces generally caught are Bluegill, Perch, Crappie and Bass. The Indiana State Record Smallmouth Bass was caught...........You guessed it. South Twin Lake is a private lake, it also is one of Indiana's cleanest. South Twin Lake has no public access and is a 10 mph lake where no jet skis or speed boats are allowed, this makes the lake less congested and much safer. . It is extremely clean and spring fed . Its 115 acres around and 55 ft deep in the middle. During the summer months the lake very warm around 85 degrees.
