Surpassed our expectations. Great place for a family gathering. West Seattle was a great place to stay. Easy access to main arteries, to Alki Beach, groceries, and to water taxi. Bonus weather so we were able to enjoy the deck for our entire stay.Recommended for: Age 55+, girls getaway, sightseeing.

We were travelling with another family and two exchange students who were visiting Seattle for the first time. The house was very spacious and while the adults stayed on the top two floors, all the kids were in the daylight basement. The beds were very comfortable and the shower in the downstairs area was awesome. The kitchen had lots of neat features and the fridge could store enough food for an army of people for a week! The dining room table seemed small for the size of the house and the number it can accomodate however. If you enjoy wine, there is a wine cellar with an opportunity to purchase from their stock. The house was about 1/2 mile (uphill) from the bus stop and a mile from a Safeway store. Alkai Beach was a mere 3 1/2 mile away. Overall, these were great accomodations for a large party.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: Thank you Sarah for the review! Your group was wonderful! Glad you enjoyed our home!

High end house with all the amenities you would ever need. If you have young kids (<3 yrs). you will have to keep an eye on them at all times due to the open stairwells/layout. Everything was very clean and orderly. Great communication with the owner throughout the rental process. You should have no hesitation renting this unit.Did you find this review helpful? This home was beyond amazing. It is all that it is stated on the site plus oh, so much more. We had a party of eight adults and we never felt crowded or cramped at all. It has so many personal touches that one would include only in a home that you lived in all of the time. The owners were very special people and the neighborhood was great. Easy access to the local markets, restaurants, and yes, the water taxi to Seattle. There is ample parking off the street. You could easily park three cars in the driveway. The views, the kitchen, the bathrooms, all king sized beds (which you never find) and I could go on. I have rented over a dozen homes from VRBO and this one tops all of them. I highly suggest that you rent this wonderful property!Recommended for: People with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, sightseeing.

We stayed in Lisa and Alex's VRBO for five days in August celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary. Our family flew in from Boise, Denver and Pittsburgh. Saturday our first day everyone found a bedroom to suit them. The grandchildren and our daughter and partner stayed in the two bedrooms on the lower level and we showed pictures and video's of our 50 years together on the lower level also.. I connected my MacBook Air to HDTV to show the images. On Sunday we had a gathering of family and friends on the main level. My son an executive chef at Act 3 Catering provided the food for everyone. On Monday we all took the foot ferry over to Pikes Street market. On Tuesday we all climbed aboard an electric boat for a 2 hour cruse of Lake Union. The top level deck overlooking the city was a favorite place to hang out in the early morning and the evening lights of Seattle were spectacular. The top deck was also a great place to take group pictures with the flowered lattice as a backdrop. We met Lisa the first day of our rental and she was very welcoming and helpful in "showing" the house. The house with its three levels was great for everyone to find some space for themselves. All in all having our 50 there turned out to exceed our expectations.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We absolutely loved staying in this house while visiting Seattle for our nieces wedding. There were 7 adults and we had more than enough room for all.... the view from the deck is just awesome, spent many a night sharing a glass of wine with my sisters and my brother in law loved cooking in the gourmet kitchen. Seattle a 10 min drive downtown was easily accessible and stores, groceries only a short drive from the house. Definitely recommend this home, it is extremely well kept and the ammenties are top of the line. Hope to be back soon! Thank you Lisa and Alex!Owner response: Thank you so much for your stay; I often feel like we get to share in folks vacations, it's a great experience!

We stayed at this lovely home for a family reunion and could not have chosen a more perfect place! The layout of the home (three levels with large deck and lovely Zen backyard) was ideal for our group as everyone had his/her space. Liked the fact that there are two large TVs with adequate seating in two different areas of the house - for multi-generational viewing. Very well appointed with whimsical decor added to the ambience. The kitchen truly is a dream! Top of the line appliances with extra touches such as an electric food warming drawer, double oven, six-burner range with pot filling faucet, and extra-large fridge/freezer. Temperature-controlled wine room was convenient too! Deluxe LG washer and dryer were convenient. The 180 degree view from the top deck of the city and Cascades is to die for - we spent many evenings watching the sun set over the trees from there. West Seattle is very convenient - the house was only a few minutes drive down to the foot ferry(a 10 minute ride for only $4 per person each way) that drops you right at the Seattle market. The drive over the West Seattle bridge was quick - we made it to the Seattle train station and back to the house on a Monday morning in only 25 minutes. A Safeway and a gourmet whole foods type market are also only a few minutes drive over the hill. A Trader Joes is also within a few minutes' drive. There are several great bars/restaurants in West Seattle if you don't want to venture over to the city. Over all, this was a wonderful home in a great location with a fabulous view - A+ in our book! Thank you!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thank you for the wonderful review and we are glad that you had a great time at our home while in Seattle.

Two families with 4 kids under the age of 5 had plenty of space here. We weren't too mobile so we stayed in most nights and prepared food in the huge kitchen & great room. The appliances are top notch. Kids had plenty of space to play here and in the bottom level. It wasn't too hard to get to downtown, and you're near California Ave. if you don't want to leave W. Seattle. I recommend this place.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, romantic getaway.

A fun updated home that has lots of character. It is filled with lots of great artistic touches. The special lighting and plumbing througout the home is awsome. The owners are near by to help out with any of your needs. The city view from the roof top is a spectacular spot to enjoy the afternoon, or evening. The master bedroom is very bright, so I would recommed bringing a sleep mask if you want to sleep in. I highly recommend this home.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

A GREAT place for a family to collect for a wedding! The hospitality was MUCH MORE than we could have ever imagined. Our favorite "conversation area" was the huge deck on the top floor overlooking the city. Our last evening we could see Mt. Ranier reflecting the sunset. Magic!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

My sisters, parents and I rented this beautiful home in October of '11. We've stayed in a lot of VRBO houses, but this one far surpasses them all. The attention to detail in this gorgeous lady of a home is far above anything we could have hoped for. The owners were delightful, and our stay could not have been better. This is the first time that I've thought "I have to go back and stay there again." Thanks so much for sharing your incredible home with us!!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We were in Seattle for our son's wedding at the end of June and the house was perfect for us. There was plenty of room with the great daylight basement area. The homeowners have done a great job with the renovations (they live close by and were welcoming and helpful). The kitchen is wonderful; the views are beautiful. It's eclectic and a little funky. West Seattle has a fun downtown area with some good restaurants, bakeries, and shops. Alki Beach is close by and also offers good restaurant choices with lovely views of the bay. We were pleased with our choice, we would definitely recommend it and would stay here again!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

My brother, father and I chose this house for our Christmas destination and my dad's birthday. The pictures don't do this house justice, it is so well designed and unique. We could have not asked for a better meeting place for our week together and the experience was enhanced by the initial meeting with the owners. Both Alex and Lisa were beyond helpful and hospitable, really showing how much they care about the home and the guest experience. West Seattle also had a great downtown area and market, but downtown Seattle was just minutes a way as well. I would highly recommend this home to those looking to stay in the Seattle area!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

This house was perfect in every way. It had unique features for our family members who stayed there they were from out of town and did not expect to have such wonderful and peaceful accommodations. We had 4 family members celebrating their birthday and it was just perfect for this event. From the view of the Downtown skyline to the spa downstairs every feature of the house made for a memorable experience. The homeowners were very gracious and helpful with every question that came up thoughout our stay. We would not hesitate to recommend this home to friends and family. If we had it to do over again this would always be our number one choice.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thank you and really enjoyed meeting you and having nice conversations. We are happy to support your wonderful family memory.

We had our wedding guests stay in the house in August 2010. The house is perfect and has amazing interiors. The owners have done a great job with the details and furnishings of the house. It has to be one of the most unique homes I have ever seen or stayed at. The house has a huge deck with beautiful Seattle skyline and water views (and Mt Raineer) The bedrooms are nice and spacious, a lot of basement open space and multiple living room seated areas. The backyard has a very unique Asian touch. All in all, this place was perfect. The owners are extremely helpful, lived close by and were readily available if we needed anything (and yet they let us have privacy). This house (and the owners)will always stay warm and close to my heart as they played a big part in our entire wedding.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

My family rented this home in the summer of 2010 and had a wonderful experience. Literally ever room is beautifully decorated. We especially enjoyed the super well appointed gourmet kitchen and adjoining family room. A cook's delight. It's the little things that count, and the owners have made sure that their guests have all the comforts of home and then some. One of the the pluses of renting this home was meeting the owners who were attentive, professional and a joy to deal with. Loved the W. Seattle locale and the view from the rear deck is truly spectacular. We would re-rent this home in a heart beat. It's just about perfect!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

A group of 5 friends stayed in this lovely home for a week's vacation. Our hosts ensured we had all the info we needed about both the home and the great little 'hoods in West Seattle. We all love to cook and the kitchen had absolutely everything we needed for both cooking and serving. The dining room was a great spot to gather and enjoy our meals. The lighting in the dining area and throughout the home was unique and beautiful. It really provided great ambiance for our meals and our most pleasant stay. Though it was a bit cool for those of us coming from hot and sunny Florida and Arizona, we did enjoy some time in the outdoor spaces. The rooftop deck provides great views of the water, and on a couple of sunny days we could see Mt. Ranier as well. I would recommend this home for a serene home in a great neighborhood that's very near downtown Seattle. We had a ball!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We recently stayed at this home for a family reunion. This is a beautiful home which became a conversation piece for our family as we each discovered unique touches and accent pieces throughout the house, from the stained glass door separating the hallway and one of the bedrooms, to the bamboo railing leading up to the master suite. The main floor is huge and spacious with windows everywhere. The home is also very efficient, the radiant heat provided comfortable warmth, and the showers all had great water pressure and plenty of hot water for the needs of nine people. The owners were very helpful and hands on w/ any questions during our stay. (We couldn’t figure out how to lock one of the doors leading to the deck and how the heat from the three floors connected.) The owner Alex came over within minutes and showed us (again) how everything worked. The gourmet kitchen was fully stocked w/ everything you can imagine. We had a spaghetti dinner one night and found numerous pots big enough to cook 5lbs of pasta! The location of the house is wonderful. It is a quiet residential neighborhood, yet a short drive to all the main attractions downtown. We have vacationed in Seattle several times before but never stayed in West Seattle. We really enjoyed exploring the local neighborhood and found the best Artisan bakery on California Ave. just a few minutes’ drive from the house. This house is so versatile; I would recommend renting it for any occasion or group.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
