Gorgeous Beach House, Walk To Beach, 4BR/2Bth, Sleeps 8-10, I built the house in 1997, it has beautiful heart pine flooring, tile bth floors, spacious, clean, outside shower, fish cl station, bench swing, hammock, screened in porch, rocking chairs, great romantic getaway. On a dead end street which makes traffic limited and very SAFE for children. Lots of yard for playing and poured concrete driveway with basketball goal.
Tidal creek in the back yard with crab, shrimp and fish. Casting a net is lots of fun and crabbing.
Peaceful place to get away and let your mind and body rest with no distractions. Lay in the hammock and let the sea breeze put you to sleep.

My husband and I stayed at "Susie by the Sea" for a long weekend to celebrate my birthday and visit with our son at college. The house is so nice and comfortable. The location is terrific, a short walk to the beach. Lee was very good with communication and answering my questions. The rental process was very smooth and easy. We have already booked a week for the summer and can't wait to get back to Edisto!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, sightseeing.

We had spent a week at this wonderful house and fell in love with it. It was quite and calming. The set-up was perfect. I would recommend this house to anyone that wants peace and quite within walking distance from the beach. We went to the beach everyday and enjoyed just sitting on the hammock and relaxing. If you don't want to have all the noise of the big party beaches this is the area and the house for you. We even plan on taking our honeymoon at this house. We can't wait to come back! Thank you again for letting us rent the house. I can't say it enough that we had a wonderful time!Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

Our family had a great wonderful vacation. We have stayed at several locations on Edisto and truly felt this was one of the best. The location to the beach was excellent. The only downside were that the missing blender parts were not found until the day we were leaving. I can't wait to make a return trip next year.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway.

My family of 5 and my parents stayed here for a week. It was wonderful. The location to the beach was excellent. The house was perfect and had everything that we needed. I can't wait to make a return trip next year.Recommended for: Families with young children.

We shared this lovely home with another family and it was just perfect. Very easy access to the beach, and our girls rode their bikes on the concrete driveway for hours and hours! Everything was crisp and clean and just right. A+Recommended for: Tourists without a car, families with young children, girls getaway.

Additional information about rental rates
Golf cart rental is available at $250/wk or $150/3 nt.
Bike rental is $30/wk/bike or $20/3 nt/bike.
Credit card is excepted but we do chg a 3% fee. We will take cc # to reserve and wait on deposit. The cc will not be ran but only held untill deposit/check is received.
Deposit is half of rent and the remainder is due 4 weeks before arrivale day.
Additional Fees and Taxes:
May - August: $1500/wk plus 11% tax plus $125 cl fee. Sat to Sat is the normal rent schedule unless other exception
Sept - April: $850/wk plus 11% tax plus $125 cl fee. 3 nt min is allowed in Low Season at $150/nt.
Linen/towel service is not included which would be $100 but all beds would be made when you arrive. When leaving you would need to strip and put a foot of the bed.

About the owner: My wife Susan and I built this home in 1997. We live in Augusta Georgia which is only 150 mi away and went to Edisto for the easy access to offshore fishing which we love to do. We now have 2 beautiful children, which our interest have changed some, and now we simply enjoy the family time with friends there.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
Collecting shark teeth on the beach and biking on the island trails and parks. Also the fishing and crabbing.
