What a beautiful lake to spend a weekend on! The fall colors were stunning, and we had such a lovely view of them from the patio. The cabin was clean and well maintained and stocked with anything we could have needed. Chris was very responsive with all our questions. We greatly appreciated having access to the row boat on the property - we took it on a tour around the lake near sunset. My husband caught several pike as well as a few bass and bluegills. Didn't catch anything off the pier, but it wasn't for a lack of trying! It rained a good portion of the day on Saturday, so we spent the day touring antique stores in the area. We went to Twelve Pines for dinner and would definitely recommend their pizza. Tip for future renters: the listing above says that towels and linens are included, but we were told ahead of time that we would be charged extra for it. We brought our own and were able to avoid the extra charge. Overall, we had a wonderful trip on a beautiful piece of property and we would definitely consider renting this property again.

Owner response: Thank you for the positive response - you are absolutely correct - Bass Lake is a beautiful lake to spend time on and the log sided cabin is clean, well maintained and well stocked. We do not charge extra for linens/towels during a full week/full price stay. We do, however; charge extra for linens/towels with the discounted, off season, daily rate. We try to keep the renter's fee as low as possible so we give them the option for using sheets and towels during a discounted stay. Have a Great Day in the NorthWoods.
The cabin and property were beautiful and exceeded our expectations. The patio is perfect for sitting and enjoying the view. The cabin is well equipped and nicely maintained. The neighbors are very friendly and helpful. We would love to come back next year. The only thing that we would find helpful is if the owners allowed well-behaved small pets.

Comfy Cabin Great Views
Loved the cabin and the great view of the lake. The cabin was very clean and well cared for, we were very comfortable. Cabin and lake exceeded our expectations. We were blessed with great weather and a full moon. My husband took the rowboat out on the lake and caught a Nothern Pike. Owner was helpful and left great instructions. Plan on returning next year.

Can't say enough great things. So relaxing. The boat launch worked out so nicely with our boat.We caught a lot of bass and northern even off the pier! We had 5 adults and 1 5yr old and the cabin was a perfect size.loved the stairs as they were not very steep. By far one of the best lots on Bass Lake.My 5yr old son fished and swam at the very clear shoreline nonstop! We will definitely be back:-) Thank you Craig's for opening up your cabin for renters. Wonderful vacation.

Owner response: Thank you very much for the positive feedback!! We are so fortunate to be able to share our cabin with your families - it's all about making wonderful memories that will last a lifetime. Thank you for keeping our cabin in excellent condition during your stay. Hope you will come back next year!!
Our family of 5 had a wonderful time at the cabin. The shallow, sandy shore was perfect for our kids (ages 11, 7 & 5). We caught a variety of fish right from the dock (largemouth bass, rock bass, northern, crappies and perch)...and lots of bluegills (which the kids loved). The water was very clear...you could see the fish as they swam by. The cabin was the perfect size and had everything we needed. My youngest wanted to live there forever. We would definitely consider staying again.

Owner response: We never want to leave either! We love the fishing on this lake, it is so much fun. Our kids get a bite every time they put a night crawler in the water, they get so excited! Thank you for sharing your experience with us and we hope you will return in the future. Until next year, The Craigs

Great location and great place! Caught 24 inch Northern's right off the pier. We were very comfortable in this cottage! 2 wine glasses would have been nice, but I always had the ONE :). Bunk Beds were perfect! Very comfy! No complaints! Would definately return! The sunrise on the swing was amazing EVERY DAY!

Simply Beautiful Cabin in the Woods
Simply Beautiful Cabin in the Woods
I was a lone dad with five kids ages 12 to 18 looking to create some special memories in a cabin on a lake in the north woods. This cabin fit the bill. In the day we played in the water, swam off the pier and fished. The canoe and row boat enabled some great experiences we shared. In the evening we played numerous games of cards and Monopoly at the large kitchen table. Sometimes we watched a movie on a huge flat screen TV with 5.1 surround sound. That doesn't seem like roughing it does it? The week we were there it was quite hot and humid so the cabin's air conditioning came in quite handy. Hmmm...definately not roughing it! The summer heat made the pristine waters of Bass Lake all the more enjoyable and refreshing. The Craig's are very easy to work with and most helpful. The cabin, albeit small, was clean and perfectly served our purposes (to share wonderful experiences on a lake) very well indeed. The kitchen had everything one needs for great meals. Just outside the door is a picnic table on a slate patio next to a fire pit for evening samores. There was another fire pit down by the lake frontage as well. Fishing was abundant right off the pier. For a simple low frills getaway in a perfectly located and simply beautiful cabin on an pristine lake, this one is a keeper!

Hard to Leave
Hard to Leave
This is our second year staying at this cabin and we plan on coming back next year. The cabin is nice, clean, comfortable and has a very well equipped kitchen. We felt right at home as soon as we walked in the door We are constantly fishing and boating (we brought our own trolling motor and used the provided fishing boat). My kids have learned to fish up here and love it. Apparently, there is only so much quiet and relaxation kids can handle, so I am happy town is a short drive away. There is plenty to do in town and good places to eat. We also brought our bikes and plan on exploring near by state parks. As I write is review, I am sitting on the deck/patio area drinking my coffee, looking at the sun rising over the lake, watching my husband and 7 year old fish in the boat, and enjoying watching a male and female bald eagle sitting in a near by tree. I think they call this lake home because we have seen them several times. When we are on vacation, we are ready to go home on the last day. That is not true with this place. We never want to leave.

Beautiful and relaxing stay
Beautiful and relaxing stay
The property was absolutely perfect! The view of the lake was beyond beautiful, and the peace and quiet were exactly what we were looking for. The property had everything we could possibly need. It was clean and very relaxing and cozy. It was also nice that the trip to town was only a 5 minute drive, so we could easily go do something, and then travel quickly back to "our retreat away from the world". It will be a treasured memory forever and we look forward to going again next year. The owner answered any questions promptly and wanted to make sure we had the best stay possible. I would highly recommend a stay at this very beautiful place.
