We had a very nice stay at our getaway cabin near Lake Lure. The cabin was close to the local sites and attractions. We also liked the fact that the cabin was located in a gated community. This eased our mind when leaving valuables behind while visiting the local attractions. My wife and I had more than enough room. The cabin was large enough to accomodate up to 6 more guests. Our experience with the owner was also very pleasant. The only thing negative that I can say about our stay was that the bed on the main level was very uncomfortable. I would rent this cabin again for a future trip to the area.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

We visited this cabin for a family reunion trip and it exceeded our expectations. The cabin was clean, comfortable and nicely furnished. We were close enough to enjoy Lake Lure beach, Chimney Rock Park and the shops local tennis courts and even went to Biltmore in Asheville one day. Would refer anyone to this cabin and area.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

The cabin is lovely - even nicer than in the photos. The setting is peaceful, surrounded by trees in a gated community. We had a little trouble finding the place because we were misdirected by Mapquest. We called Liz and she was very helpful. We had a wonderful time in the cabin. The town of Lake Lure and nearby Chimney Rock are pretty much a tourist traps. We were not very impressed with the businesses there or with the customer service (with a few exceptions). We drove deaper into the mountains and found a lot of fun things to do. We went to Pisgah National Forest and enjoyed Sliding Rock and Looking Glass Falls. The Parkway is just up the road from there and there is much to enjoy along the way. There is a Dollar General and an Ingles grocery store near the cabin. I needed a crock pot. The closest place I could find one was at Walmart in Forest City - 45 minutes away. Keep that in mind. It is nice to be away from the city but a little info about where things are would have been helpful. We could not acess the internet anwhere, even with our phones. It took the better part of a week to find out where Walmart was. Everyone I asked said they didn't know where anything was. Aparently everyone that works there - commutes from somewhere else. I would suggest you map out the surrounding area before you get there. Find out where things are because there is nothing nearby except for little poorly run dives. To the owners of the cabin, useful information about the area (other than advertising fliers) would be very helpful. We also would have liked a better choice of games - not the electronic type. Other than that , your cabin is beautiful and well appointed. We would love to stay there again - now that we know our way around. Still waiting for my deposit to be returned because I don't think we damaged anything.Owner response: I am so glad you enjoyed the cabin. The town of Lake Lure does have some tourist shops but, also restaurants on Lake Lure and on the Broad River and Chimney Rock National Park with hiking and waterfalls and views is not to be missed ! Thanks for the tip, I have never had anyone ask about a Walmart and there is a much closer one in Hendersonville and I wiill put some area maps with grocery, Walmart ect. Wiireless and cell phones can be hit or miss in the mountains and we have found that AT&T has the best service at the cabin and in Lake Lure. Also, thanks for the idea about board games- there are some downstairs in the closet but most guests are interested in all the playstation games. It is a good idea to move them where they can be seen and maybe more people will play them instead! We would love to have you all back one day. Your full deposit was returned and it takes a few days to show up on your banking info. Thanks, Liz

Me, my wife and our 3 children (ages 11,9 &7) spent a week in this beautiful cabin which is located only 2 miles from the shores of Lake Lure. Within a 15 mile radius of the cabin are a plethra of fun activities such as horseback ridding, Zip Lining, River tubing and kayaking on the Green River, hiking Chimeny Rock, etc...Not to even mention the wonderful activities that Lake Lure itself provides such as boating, wake boarding, pontoon rentals, swimming and waterslides!. Also, you are an easy 35 to 40 minute drive from the cabin to the gates of the beautiful Biltmore Estates in Asheville, N.C. Location, location, location...This cabin has it all!!! The cabin was clean and spacious and located in a beautiful gated community with an awesome Ingles Grocery store only 1 mile away for your supply needs. It is a very well maintained home with all the ementities you could ask for. Liz is the perfect hostess in answering any questions you may have and being helpful in so many ways. This is definitely a place which we hope to make a regular family vacationing site. Everything you need to have a wonderful active vacationing experience is offered here. We will ABSOLUTELY be back to this cabin for future exciting vacationing experiences.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

My family and I loved this cabin. We had one of the best vacations ever - no Mickey Mouse, no expensive waterparks, no tourist traps - just some good old family fun playing in the woods, making fires, going on walks, talking, etc. The best part was that my kids' cell phones didn't get reception there and there was no computer access so that made the trip even more enjoyable. Liz is amazing! She was very quick to help or respond when we needed something. The cabin is very comfortable, lots of room to spread everyone out. Thanks Liz for renting us your cabin.....we had a great time!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, pet owners, sightseeing.

This is a great cabin for a weekend get-away! It is very clean, comfortable and pet-friendly with everything we needed to make it home away from home. The area is beautiful with Lake Lure and Chimney Rock State Park a quick drive away. The owner was so easy to work with and always very quick to respond to questions - she made the whole process effortless! We were sad to be leaving but are looking forward to our next visit. Thanks Liz!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children, pet owners, sightseeing.

Bring your family/friends and leave the hustle/bustle of the city behind. Enjoy watching wild turkeys and playful squirrels from a rocking chair. The cabin is secluded yet secure in a gated community. It’s tastefully decorated and provides all the comforts of home. Chimney Rock, NC is within 5 miles; which provides a unique shopping experience of hand-made crafts and skilled workmanship. There's horseback riding, fishing and a host of surrounding attractions.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with teenagers, families with young children, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
