  House nice but dirty and filthy in most places. Had not been cleaned since last tenants a week earlier. floors not vacuumed, a lot of mold in ice maker machine. Told caretaker about it and he cursed us and said we could pack our bags and leave. When he was shown the filthy conditions he apologized and made an attempt to clean vacuum some. Company sent cleaners back but harm was done. Pay that much money, cursed at repeatedly and told to leave because we complained. We have pictures. Accused of being nit-pickers by this person.

  Recommended for: Families with teenagers, age 55+, sightseeing, families with young children.

  The Von Bryan cabin was an outstanding facility, breathtaking view and all the amenities - but several things left us disappointed for the amount of money that this weekend cost us. First of - an upstairs window was broken and there was glass on the roof that we were worried about falling down on the back patio, One of the worst problems was a bad 'mold smell' in the basement that kept us from being able to use the 'big screen TV viewing room'. The ice maker wasn't working and barely managed to make any ice at all. The dishwasher kept coming loose in the cabinet and finally my Father in Law had to fix it in order for it to be usable. The 'gardener' didn't make very good choices with regard to what plants they put around the pool so bees were a constant issue and two of our party got stung. But lastly - the rental agency (Cabins For You) charged us for 'damages' to a front room curtain that were NOT caused by our party. They also tried to blame us for missing pool balls and darts (we didn't even play darts) and the pool balls were all there when we left. There is no way any of us will ever deal with 'Cabins for You' again due to their unscrupulous business practices. They even charged us $100 for these 'damages' so we're looking into that as Merchant Fraud. I can guarantee that the cabin was in better shape and more usuble than when we arrived. The great weekend we enjoyed was spoiled at the end by the rental agency that tried to bilk us out of even more money and apparently - the cabin owner that lives right next to it even corroborated the 'story' that the curtains were damaged. I will write a negative review on any reviewing website possible to help others avoid getting fleeced by this group. It's a shame that such a fun weekend had to be spoiled by a bad business and owner.

We would like to take a moment to respond to your review. The window was busted by the guest before your arrival. I apologize that it was broken, and it has since been repaired. The glass had to be order which hindered it being installed sooner. I wish you had given the office a call in regards, the bees, ice maker, and dishwasher. We would have been than happy to send some out to take care of those issues. Bees are especially heavy during the summer months however, we would have been happy to spray. At this time the ice maker is working and I am glad your father in law was able to secure the dishwasher, however we would have been happy to send out some to take care of that. It is never the intention of Cabins For You to charge guest for anything they did not do. However, we do hold guest responsible to leave the property in the way they found it. We also encourage renters to call us if they find any issues with the house upon arrival in order to prohibit any potential confusion. The owner does live next door as she and her late husband ran the home as a B and B for almost 30 years. She is available if people have any questions or needs in addition to Cabins For You via the 1-800 number. Again we are sorry to hear about the issues you incurred and hope that you will contact our office with any other issues that we may need to address.
