  My family (husband and 2 year old daughter) enjoyed our stay the cottage. The size was perfect for our little one to run around. Caren and Dennis were great host and were available when we had any questions. A couple of the perks is that you get wifi and parking! Definitely recommend to anyone looking for a place outside of the Waikiki area - the beaches here are beautiful.

  We came to Hawaii to visit our 94 year old aunt who lives in Honolulu, but we didn't want to stay in a high rise. We really wanted a place we could be near the beach and relax without all the hassel of downtown city life. (We get enough of that living right outside Washington, DC). This little studio was the perfect retreat for us. It was central to everywhere we wanted to be. Close enough to Honolulu that we could see our aunt easily. A beautiful drive to North Shore. Plenty of shopping for groceries or those things we always seem to forget. There was awesome coffee at Kalapawai Market every morning before we met up with some friends of Bill's on the beach. Because the property is a room connected to the main house, I had some initial reservations about privacy--a significant requirement for me when I travel. Our hosts were very respectful and responsive to anything we needed to make our stay comfortable. I use VRBO in my travels around the world. I've stayed in dozens of properties, most of which I'd return. This property very definitely makes the "would return" list.

  This guest suite was perfect for my son and I! We wanted access to the windy beach for kite boarding as well as quick access to Kaneohe so we loved the location! The property was spotless, and the Allen family could not have been more accomadating and super nice!! We cooked out on the grill a lot and enjoyed the private space they created in the side yard! All in all we loved the stay at this relaxing place!!

  This rental is great for couples trying to relax in peace and quiet for a few days. We rented the apartment for a week, and though it is attached to Dennis & Caren's home, we had all the privacy of a separate unit. They had great suggestions for beaches, restaurants, and must-do's in the area. (Thanks for suggesting the Pillbox hike, the view was amazing!!) Kailua is a great town, and we definitely recommend staying here if you're wanting to get away from the crowds. The rental had everything we needed from beach towels, to dishes & utensils, and a BBQ. Plus it's in a great location, close to everything!

  Great location, just a couple meets from the beach, Kailua town and all the major highways. This space has all the amenities of a luxury hotel with the perk of a private yard. The pictures accurately represent the rental but do not do it justice. It’s the extra touches that make it an exceptional experience. The fruit basket upon arrival, the BBQ, washer & dryer and the bathroom full of toiletries. The razors, a blow dryer, and flat iron for the ladies. The many extras are noticeable and much appreciated. The neighborhood is safe, quiet and homey. Caren and Dennis are friendly, helpful and very respectful of your privacy. This is a great place for the solo traveler or the couple looking for a romantic getaway. I highly recommend this tropical getaway. Mahalo â nui Caren and Dennis!

  We were in town to visit our son in the Navy who lives here. The cottage was very comfortable. It is basically a large and luxurious hotel room in a nice neighborhood just a short walk to the beach. I really appreciated the super clean bathroom and fresh smelling towels. I wouldn't plan to do a lot of meal prep- there is no kitchen sink. But we were on vacation and mostly ate out anyway. Would come back again!

  Clean and well maintained. A little difficult to prepare and clean up from meals. Excellent location and great owner family. Would rent again. Recommend Times Coffee Shop for breakfast and lunch. Great value.

  Wonderful private suite in a residential home with a separate entrance and patio area. The listing and photos are accurate - a newly built suite that is clean and quiet. The bonus is all the amenities in the suite from beach chairs, cooler and towels to a fruit selection on arrival. There is a fridge, microwave and enough kitchen items (plates, cutlery, bowls, etc) that I was able to comfortably host 2 friends for a BBQ. Caren is a wonderful host who is friendly and helpful in arranging the booking along with local recommendations. The beach in Kailua is stunning and I hope to return soon! Thanks again, Karen
