Thanks Kalona for allowing us to rent your wonderful home. You were great to work with and your house was lovely to stay in. This home is in the perfect location. It is nearby a park for the kids to run around. The neighborhood is great, with the best little health food store just down the block. Plus it's a 20 minute walk to downtown. The bedding and towels are superb. The beds were exceptionally comfortable. All details have been thought of for house guests. I would recommend this home to my family and friends!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with young children, tourists without a car, girls getaway.
Owner response: Kate, Thank you for the wonderful review! I am so glad that our house served you well:) Your visit is much appreciated and we hope to have you again sometime! Kalona

I returned to my college to take my family to a football game and to see the campus. I have two boys 11 and 8 and they loved hangning at the house as a home base. It is close to campus and easy to get around town. We would stay there again and the owner is really friendly.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children.

This charming cottage is in an excellent location just a short walk from Eugene's best bakery - great place to visit to start the day. You could also walk to downtown (where a visit to the gift shop called Passion Flower is a must!) The owner has obviously gone to trouble to ensure guests who stay here are comfortable and have everything they need. I would highly recommend this home.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

We stayed in Eugene for a week at the end of July. This cottage was perfect for the two of us. But it will be comfortable for four. It is ideally located, about a 20-minute walk to downtown Eugene. There are also a lot of good places to eat within a much closer distance. Laughing Planet, Izakaya Meiji, Ninkasi. One thing to note for visitors not from the Pacific Northwest. There is no air conditioning in the house, and we noticed that to be the case for the majority of the houses. We really didn't need it because the evening temperature goes down to the 50s, and it was perfectly comfortable sleeping with the windows open. The owner provided several fans. The owner is also very friendly, and super responsive to emails as well. We locked ourselves out one day, and she came to our rescue immediately. The house is very comfortable and well stocked. Highly recommended.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, tourists without a car, girls getaway, sightseeing.

This is a charming little cottage, just perfect for the three of us. We liked how clean, simple & tasteful the furnishings were. The beds were excellent. The kitchen was very well stocked. The flowers in the yard were beautiful. The neighborhood included excellent little cafes, a grocery store, yoga studio, a darling thrift store and the best bakery ever. The description and photos were accurate, and Kalona could not have been more helpful. We wish we could have stayed longer, and would recommend this home to anyone.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

We had a wonderful stay at the Eugene cottage. Everything was very clean, comfortable and well organized. The owner was extremely helpful during our stay. She provided us with several useful maps and information at the house to navigate around the city. We were visiting family in Eugene with our two young daughters. The house was well equipped and enabled us to comfortably visit with them. There are several good eateries in the area within walking distance. We enjoyed the Sweet Life patisserie for breakfast and desserts, the Laughing Planet cafe for healthy fast food, the Vintage for a date or girls night and the Pizza Research Institute for yummy pizza. We drove just out of town to hike/trail run Spencer's Butte, Mount Pisgah and the McKenzie River trails. There was a well equipped health food grocery store a block away and a park a block away. We would definitely recommend this cottage to friends or relatives.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

My partner and I enjoyed 2 nights in this little home, and it was perfectly comfortable. We were within walking distance to some nice restaurants and a yummy coffee shop and sweetery and an hour away from some fabulous hiking and waterfalls. The neighborhood was quiet and peaceful. The home provided everything we needed. The only concern was the upstairs bedroom was a little hot, but we were there in the midst of a heat wave, so we totally understood. Would I stay there again? Absolutely. Also one of the major benefits of this location is that the owner does all the paperwork on line, which is easy and efficient and eliminated the typical volley of emails that can get tedious. I clearly recommend this location!Recommended for: Age 55+, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

From the moment we entered the cottage, we knew we had finally found a "home" in Eugene. We have tried several VRBO homes, since we make trips to Eugene once or twice a year,. This one was simply the best. The owner makes every effort to make her guests feel comfortable, from top-notch linens on the beds, sparkling clean interior and well-stocked kitchen, to her "suggestion sheet" for any items that may be helpful to future guests. It is obvious that a pleasant stay is the primary goal of these owners. If you have questions, Kalona is quick with a response. The home is centrally located in a quiet, leafy neighborhood close to running/bike paths, bakeries, cozy restaurants and charming shops. We will return with smiles on our faces!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Pat, I appreciate all of your wonderful words! You couldn't possibly have ben any easier of a guest to have:) Thank you so much! Kalona

I had the pleasure of spending Thanksgiving in this beautiful cozy cottage. It was the perfect spot to feed some "Ducks" who couldn't make it home for the holiday. IT has everything you could need and is a short drive to campus. I'm already looking forward to my next stay!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: Leanne, Thank you for the wonderfulreview! So happy that you were able to celebrate the holiday with your UofO student! I look forward to having you back:)

About: I am an RN and Photographer here in the beautiful state of Oregon…Love to travel & crave the ocean and tropical weather. Spend as much time as possible in Jamaica and with family on Maui.
Why Eugene:
Growing up on the Oregon coast, Eugene was always the 'big city' for us:) I have always loved the mellow University town feel the Eugene has. Initially we had thought of purchasing a house further away from town….but having chosen this location, I couldn't be happier! It has the quiet neighborhood and wonderful neighbors, but with the ease of access to anywhere!
The Unique Benefits at this House:
Our location here is ideal! Having grown up in the country, it is a wonderful thing to be able to walk just down the street to Sweet Life for a cup of coffee, to the market or out for lunch. We frequently see concerts at MacDonald Theater and The Cuthbert, catch shows at the Hult Center and games at Autzen Stadium..It is wonderful to be within a few minutes of everything.
