Our wonderful beach cottage located in the quiet old upscale neighborhood of "The Pines" at 148 Henlopen Avenue. This non-smoking house is comfortably decorated with a mix of antique and traditional comfortable furniture. Our family has enjoyed countless summers in Rehoboth and we hope you will too.
Our house has two floors. UPSTAIRS, there is a new cathedral ceilinged great room with an open kitchen, living room and dining room all together, great for large families or parties! There are four Bedrooms and three bathrooms and a breezy long porch running down the whole side of the house. The Dining part of the great room has a large sturdy pine dining table suitible for political discussions, gossip, and solving other people's problems, all with or without wine. There is cable TV in every room and DVDs in some. The house is centrally air conditioned with ceiling fans thoughout. Kind of like wearing a belt and suspenders at the same time.
THE FOUR UPSTAIRS BEDROOMS
1. Large Master Bedroom with cathedral ceiling, a king sized bed and a private bath with tub and shower. It opens onto the porch.
2. The second and third bedrooms have two twin beds each and share a hall bathroom with a full tub and shower.
3. The fourth bedroom is small but has a double bed and a private bath with shower.
4. The Living Room has a fireplace (just in case you want a fire in July or August),Sofas and Chairs, Entertainment Center with a 42" flat screen HD TV, DVD, VCR, Stereo some CDs etc...Bring your own CD's if you don't like what I like- Sinatra, Bennett, Ella, Puccini, Mozart. The Dining Area has the above mentioned dining table that easily seats eight, or more if you're very friendly.
The DOWNSTAIRS
1. Newly renovated and has ONE BEDROOM with an antique (c.1803) Queen Bed. (The bedframe is 1803, not the mattress!)
2. In addition, there is a small room which we use as a nursery, with a crib and a toddler bed all set up.
3. The large downstairs family room has a wood burning Fireplace, Entertainment Center with cable TV, DVD, VCR, Stereo, a Miniature Pool Table and a big closet full of toddler toys.
4. Having the second living room is great for getting rid of the kids during cocktail time. There are two Sofas and many comfortable Chairs.
5. Also there is a modern laundry room with a full size Washing Machine and Dryer as well as a large laundry sink.
IN ADDTITON: We have a wideband wireless computer connection. Telephone service is also unlimited as part of our Comcast TV triple play. There is a long comfortable, breezy Screened-in Porch with Tables and Chairs for cocktails in the evenings and meals in the outdoors. Also there is an outdoor shower to keep the beach sand out of the house and out of the plumbing. Also included with the rental are six adult bicycles for riding to the beach (five blocks), to Rehoboth Avenue or on the Boardwalk. There are also a couple of three wheelers and a jazzy youth bike (very cool!)We have a new gas BBQ grill, large supply of beach chairs, an umbrella, a couple of small umbrellas and tons of beach toys for the little ones. We even have a boom box the teenagers can take to the beach in case they are bored by the boring sounds of the gulls and the waves breaking on the beach.
We do not provide sheets and towels. However, pillows, blankets and down comforters are provided (for the appropriate seasons).

- There is a new bike trail from Rehoboth to Lewes. It's about 12-14 miles round trip. Bike to Lewes, have lunch on the waterfront and bike home for a nap! A smaller bike ride is to Burton's Pond State Park, a fabulous nature preserve (6mi r/t), Take a 1/2 day fishing trip in Delaware Bay from Angler's Wharf in Lewes, Tennis Courts(hard)5 blocks at the foot of Henlopen Ave, a great water slide park, Surf Fishing, MAJOR Outlet Shopping (NO SALES TAX), great local Restaurants (Fin(!), Jakes, Blue Moon, Dogfish Head, Nicola's Pizzas, Big Fish, Fusion, & on & on) movies at "Midway" out on Route 1, a couple of video rental places, all the regular beach stuff of course, rentals of Sail boats, Windsurf boards and Jet Skis in South Dewey Beach on Rehoboth Bay, many churches, concerts at the new Bandstand on Rehoboth Ave, A good public library on Rehoboth Ave is a 10 min walk, The NY Times, Baltimore Sun and Wash Post and Wash Times on sale just a 5 min, walk from the house, Rehoboth is a really

We hope you enjoyed your stay at "Paton's Place. If you have comments - good or bad - we want to hear them. your suggestions will be taken seriously. We also hope you will keep us in mind for next year. We will begin taking reservations begining about the 1st of October. We do not take weekend rentals during the fall and winter. Too much hassle putting all our personal stuff away and getting the house ready and then putting it all back together again. We also have two daughters and families living in Richmond and one in Wilmington; plus we come up from Florida several times in the winter. E-mail us for reservations after the 1st of October.
