We thoroughly enjoyed staying in this beautiful little house for three months this fall. Everything about it was perfect, from the well-built furniture and well-appointed kitchen to the convenient location so close to Whole Foods and the Broadway St. corridor. We particularly enjoyed the gorgeous, hand-made furniture in the various rooms. The yard was nicely landscaped, both front and back, and there was a driveway to park the car. The house was on a quiet street in a quiet neighborhood with two restaurants a couple blocks away and shopping 1/2 mile away in two directions. (*Special note! One block from the #17 bus line to downtown!) The house is a gem and truly a pleasure to come home to after a day of enjoying the city.Recommended for: Age 55+, sightseeing, romantic getaway, adventure seekers, girls getaway, people with disabilities.

We had the privilege of staying in this wonderful little house for several weeks this fall. It was immaculate and very well supplied. The location was perfect for us because it was 2 blocks from our grandchildren's school, six blocks from our son's home and close to Whole Foods, all the shops along Broadway and Lloyd Center Mall. I also liked being near the developing Alberta Street distrct. We walked to dinner one night 2 blocks to Lucca and had a great meal. Because the weather was so perfect (no rain) my husband often read sitting out in the back yard late in the afternoon. I was attracted to this listing because of the lovely unique furniture the picture showed and certainly was not disappointed. We would love to stay again and would highly recommend it to anyone wanting a place in NE Portland .Recommended for: Age 55+, sightseeing, girls getaway.

My sisters and I stayed here for a sister's getaway week. We enjoyed the home so much that we didn't want to leave! It's in a quiet neighborhood, but is close to everything. The home itself is cozy and inviting. It was extremely clean and comfortable and we immediately felt at home. We had a wonderful time and this was due in large part to this magical little gem of a home! I highly recommend this property for your next visit to Portland!Recommended for: Sightseeing, romantic getaway, tourists without a car, adventure seekers, girls getaway.

During and following my husband's stem cell transplant at OHSU, I lived in this charming little home, with my husband joining me a few weeks later. He was discharged from the hospital and we were required to remain in town until released by his Oncologist to return to our Eugene home. Irvington Garden House was 'just what the doctor ordered'...a snap to keep clean, airy, and light. This home provided me and my family with the perfect setting; cleanliness, quite, centrally located, and marvelous neighborhoods to walk in. New Season's Market is nearby which allowed us to shop for organic food. Additionally, there is a fabulous little BBQ restaurant in the New Season's parking lot which provides live music on Sunday evenings throughout the summer. A delightful sushi restaurant, Bamboo Sushi, is an easy drive. We would highly recommend this little home to anyone visiting Portland. Daily trips to OHSU were convenient via the freeways. Pam, the owner, was attentive to our special needs. We have put the word out to the folks at OHSU that this little gem should be mentioned to anyone seeking housing on a temporary basis. Most sincerely, J'nene, Richard, and familyRecommended for: Age 55+, sightseeing, romantic getaway, tourists without a car, girls getaway.

Staying here the month of August was most enjoyable. The owner, Pam, is most attentive and satisfied our every request in a most timely manner. The house was perfect for my husband and me because it afforded us the privacy and quiet we love yet was close to the urban activity that makes Portland such a special place. The house is furnished with perfection including beautiful musical instruments and hand-crafted furniture; even the linens and towels were very high quality. The cozy finished basement was an ideal place to escape and watch a movie on demand or read a book while doing a laundry in the conveniently located washer and dryer. And the backyard was so private and lush, a perfect place to sit and enjoy a beautiful day. We are looking forward to our return to this great place.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, age 55+, sightseeing, tourists without a car, girls getaway.

The Irvington Garden House is an impeccably kept and comfortable home in a lovely district of Portland. Teresa, the manager was gracious and the check in and check out was relaxed and easy. Teresa steered us to some great places for coffee and food, and there is a Whole Foods nearby for shopping. A very pleasant stay. We definitely would stay again when in PortlandOwner response: Susan, we are so pleased that you enjoyed our little home and that you were able to partake of some of the many conveniences and fun places right in our neighborhood and beyond. We do hope you decide to come back for more during future visits to Portland. And thank you so much for choosing Irvington Garden House from so many possibilities.

Vickie brought her kids here to find an apartment to live here in PDX and she didn't want to leave. She has promised to return in the summer for a family visit. They spent a very festive Christmas in front of the fire celebrating with friends who live here. Her daughter is a chef and prepared a beautiful holiday meal.Did you find this review helpful? About: We're a big biking family. Our favorite way to travel is bike touring. It's slower, lots of fun, great exercise and you get to know the people, smells, neighborhoods and flavors of the area more intimately. When we are away for any length of time in one area, we like staying in a home as it gives us the opportunity to have a solid base for special kind of privacy and freedom you don't get with other kinds of accommodations. I also find a full kitchen to be a great asset, too!
Why Irvington:
We bought this darling little house as our city abode and are excited to share it with you! This is our favorite neighborhood in Portland; close to everything that Portland has to offer. The historic homes and trees are beautiful, providing great evening walks, or bike rides with footpaths and few to no cars! Everyone walks and rides here, so you have lots of company. The nearby restaurants are fabulous and make great destinations for those walks and bike rides!
The Unique Benefits at this House:
We covet those special times while sipping a cup of luscious Northwest coffee on the front porch swing in the morning sunrise, reading the paper or the local Willamette Week, planning our day's events. Whether it's enjoying being out in the lovely neighborhood, the lush private backyard, or just 'cozying' indoors safe and warm by the fire, or in the wonderful entertainment area watching a movie, we always enjoy just being here with no need to be anywhere else.
