My family and I traveled to San Diego first week in Sept 2011. After spending weeks looking for the perfect place in Del Mar, we find this lovely cottage. We were traveling to San Diego to visit family and this was the perfect location. My daughter (1.5 yrs old) loved having a backyard and playing in the grass. The beach was a perfect location, quick walk across the road, wagons and toys help for entertainment. Everything we needed was available, we cooked and hosted lunch for my family. If you are looking for a place, please consider the 2 available cottages. You won't be disappointed. Just one "con" - the beds need a little fixing up, they made a lot of noise when you moved. this was a problem keeping my daughter asleep.

Owner response:Thank you for the kind review. First I had heard of a noisy bed. I investigated and found that the bed frames and headboards on the twin beds needed tightening. Everything is tightened up for our next guests. Thanks, Bill

Perfect spot for a family summer vacation

We have been to Del Mar before, but this was the first time we rented a home. We have 2 children (5 and 7) and we wanted a place close to the beach. This cottage was perfect for the 4 of us. We were able to walk to the beach, the racetrack, the park, and the shops and restaurants. Everything was very clean and well maintained. Although it was a duplex, we had no issues with the other families renting the other unit. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a place in the San Diego area. Hopefully, we will be back soon!

Perfect In Every Way...

I am so happy I chose this rental for a much needed vacation for my daughter (4) and myself. It was perfect for our escape out of Arizona's heat, and was ideally situated close to the beach (short walk - maybe 4 minutes), Downtown Del Mar, and the freeway. The sand toys thrilled my daughter, and the decor was like something out of a magazine! We especially loved being able to BBQ in the evenings, and LOVED having a bit of grass to play on. Megan was a star when I was having problems with the DVD, and was over in a heartbeat to help. Thank you to the Morgan's for their graciousness and good taste!

Great Beach Cottage

Anytime we stay in Del Mar we stay at the 26th Street Beach Cottage. Its a perfect location for our family. The house is maintain, clean and has all we need for our vacation at the beach.

My family and I recently returned from this property and we had the best family vacation ever! The location is perfect for frequent trips to the beach with young children and the house was very well maintained. It was so nice to have a kitchen, garage, and washer/dryer and our girls loved playing in the yard. The owners even came to take the trash out for us and were very professional to work with. We hope to return very soon and would recommend this property to anyone.

We stayed in the cottage over Christmas and had a delightful time. The kitchen was a wonderful place to bake Christmas cookies, and the living room provided ample room for a Lego building party for my son and his cousins. The cottage is impeccably maintained and close to a wide range of restaurants and attractions. We will definitely be back!

Our family stayed in the cottage over Thanksgiving week. We had a wonderful time! The cottage was absolutely perfect for our family. It is just a short walk (3 minutes) to Del Mar Beach. It is also walking distance to great restaurants and shopping. It was very clean and had adorable decor. We will definitely come back and stay here again. We would reccomend this place to anyone travelling to Del Mar.

Our family had a fantastic stay at your home this past week. We were looking for a fun and easy beach vacation with our two young children (2 and 4). Our stay at your home fit the bill perfectly. The proximity to the beach & local attractions/restaurants, privacy (including the lovely small yard), cleanliness and conveniences of home were just what we were looking for. We come to San Diego every summer and have always stayed in hotels. This was our first experience with a rental home and it definitely met our high expectations - the property was exactly how it was represented on the website. We hope to return next summer.

We are just coming back from a week at this cottage in Del Mar. It was by far the cutest of all the places I checked in my price range. It is decorated with great taste with a beach theme. Everything was very clean and the kitchen had everything. I was afraid it would be a drag to take my small children to the beach everyday but it was an easy walk (maybe 3 mn?). The owners provide a wagon for each unit and it was easy and enjoyable to take the beach chairs, umbrellas, boogie board and beach toys. The entrance to the beach on 25th street is the most convenient. It also has good bathrooms and showers. We had such a relaxing time that we are talking about coming back to this cottage every year...

My 3 children and I had a WONERFUL time in your cottage! The location was perfect, we love Del Mar as it is, and finding this great place to stay made all that better! We enjoyed the quick walk to the beach, the convienent wagon that was made available to us, and the decor was adorable and cozy! It was a very clean unit, and easy to keep up. The only request I would have is to update the cookware, as the pots and pans were rusty, there wasn't a large selection of sizes for cooking, and utensils were sparse. We liked the convienence of being able to cook there, but it was a bit challenging without the proper supplies. We will definately rent with you again, it was truly the perfect location for our end of summer vacation!

Charming Beach Cottage

This is our second summer at this same house. We came back for more! The home is so clean and professionally decorated. It is charming and private, quiet and relaxing. A short, easy walk to the beach makes it a perfect retreat.

Thank you very much for a great vacation. We loved the cottage, and found it very comfortable, clean and with all the necessary amenities. It is really close to the beach and that made it easier for me and the kids to just walk over there. Thank you for providing also kids' beach toys and a wagon to carry them easily. We would definitely consider coming again and would recommend it to friends as well. We love Del Mar and its quaint atmosphere. Great dining - Il Fornaio, Cafe' Americana for a great breakfast/brunch - and lovely beaches. We have some fabulous memories. Thanks again.

This cottage was perfect for our family of four - very clean and updated with nicely landscaped yard in a quiet neighborhood. Enjoyed morning reading time on the porch. Great location with an easy 2 minute walk to the beach and 15-20 minutes to the village. We appreciated use of the boogie boards and beach chairs. The owner stopped and provided lots of good tips on things to do in the area and good dining spots. We feel fortunate to have found this little gem on short notice and plan on returning before too long!

We had our family down in Del Mar for 8 days and had a great time. It's a very short walk to a great beach and in an awesome area of San Diego. The place was clean and well-appointed. We BBQ'd almost every night and having a washer and dryer on location was an added benefit. I would recommend this place to any of my friends who were looking to stay in the area.

We really enjoyed our stay at this property, we only paid the winter rate and it was a steal! Too good to be true really. The decor was adorable and the property was very well maintained. It was only a hop and skip from the beach which made it perfect for our little family :) We enjoyed walking down to the park and to Del Mar village, we hope to return again next year!
