Wow! My husband and I just returned from a relaxing weekend at Spear St House and were pleasantly surpised at how gorgeous the house was on the inside. And...being a bit of a germaphobe, I appreciated the fact that it was immaculately clean. The neighborhood is beautiful and serene, along with the nature preserve in the back of the yard. The squirrels were having a blast eating and storing the acorns from the massive Oak trees on the property...don't be surprised to hear them skampering across the roof at times..:-) Tim was very pleasant and accommodating. Thanks for sharing your cozy cottage with us!

Wow! We just spent the weekend at Spear St. House and could not be more surprised at how gorgeous the inside of this house was. The pictures do not do it justice....on top of that, it was immaculately clean. Tim was most gracious and accommodating. It was a very peaceful, pleasant weekend, well worth it! Also, the squirrels were having a blast in the backyard eating and storing all the acorns fallen from the massive Oak trees, don't be surprised to hear them running across the rooftop. :-)

We just got back tonight from a 4 night stay at this home. The pictures dont tell the story - this home is beautiful and beautifully decorated. From the front the home looks smaller than it really is, its long so you really dont see the size of it if your looking straight on at the front.The kitchen is large fully stocked and all updated along with the bathrooms. Hardwood flooring, large seperate dining room and 3 nice bedrooms. We slept like babies the beds were so comfortable. A plus was the large detached 2 car garage! A nice walk to town its fun looking at everyones homes in the neighborhood, everyone is very nice. Its a very comfortable neighborhood - cozy. The home is siutauted on a very large lot, a beautifully wooded and well landscaped backyard with a lovely stone patio. The front of the home has a nice porch to sit out on and watch whats going on in the neighborhood as you sit and have cocktails. Its a short drive to Lake Michigan's beach which we went to 3 times! We went on the winery tour which is a 15 minute drive from the house and a boat cruise which we walked to catch. Everything is just a few minutes walk from the home but you have the peace of being away from all of the busy downtown area at the home. There is also a nice little town in Douglas and some terrific restaurants there. We loved Zings in Douglas. With out a doubt this home made our trip special we will definately be back. And the owners could not have been nicer!

My girlfriends and I have stayed here many times and have always enjoyed ourselves. It's a great location - close to town, but still quiet and relaxing. Within walking distance to spas, restaurants, bars, etc. We had a fantastic time wine tasting at FennValley Winery. There is so much to do in the area that one weekend is not enough. We will definitely return to this rental property in the future!

My husband and I have been coming to Saugatuck for about 25 years, sometimes with our children, sometimes not. We always stayed in bed and breakfasts but we now have a son-in-law and new grandson so we needed a house for this trip.. I looked on -line and came across the Spear Street House. I talked with Tim on the phone a couple times. He is VERY pleasant to talk to and very accomodating. We arrived later in the day and when we walked in we were blown away. The house is much larger than it shows in pictures and very beautiful. Every view from every window is gorgeous. It was fall and it was very colorful. It had everything we needed plus more. The kitchen was more than adequately stocked with everything to feel like you were at home and the whole house was very clean. We will definitely be back and would highly recommend for anyone, especially for families. Also, we had great weather and walked to town several times, it was under a 10 minute walk and we were able to see all the beauty of Saugatuck along the way. Thanks again Tim and Deb for an absolutely wonderful fall getaway!!

We had a great family vacation at this house and can't wait to come back. It is clean and has everything you need. Our kids loved playing in the large/private backyard. It was great to have an easy walk downtown and still have peace and quiet at home. We have rented many homes and this will always be at the top of our list. The owners were great to work with and took care of everything.
