This townhome is truly gorgeous. It was perfectly clean and well-maintained, and management were responsive to our questions, even sending a person to get the TV set correctly for us when we couldn't figure it out. The property provided just the right configuration for our family of four. Our teens enjoyed relaxing after long days of touring in their own "suite" upstairs, with the large bed and pull-out sofa bed, beautiful writing desk at the bay window and a lovely bathroom all to themselves. We spent relaxing evenings sitting in the living room overlooking the residential bustle of the street, enjoying a nice bottle of wine from the excellent wine shop, Schneider's, just a few blocks away. The kitchen had everything we needed. We had no car - metro from DCA drops you just six blocks away at Union Station, and we walked and used the metro for our sightseeing, occasionally getting cab rides back to the townhome. Also within six block walk are small corner shops for basic foods, and the seventh street market where you can find fresh produce, artisan breads, and good food. We bought some excellent home made soups and pasta dishes for dinner meals.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, tourists without a car, sightseeing.

We really loved our stay here, and would absolutely recommend it. Everything in the home was "as described" and most everything worked perfectly and easily (dishwasher, clothes washer/drier, TV, etc). We really felt "at home" in Washington DC which was super fun. If I lived in DC, this is where I would want to live. A superb neighborhood experience for the three of us: 2 adults and one child. Very clean, beautifully decorated, lovely. Comfy beds, pillows, sheets & towels. Remember to bring your own toiletries including small soaps for the 2 1/2 baths. Hair dryers are there. There are two small stores for grocery provisions (7-11 and Capitol Market on Mass Ave), and we ate at 2 restaurants that we recommend within 3-4 blocks walk: Cafe Berlin (322 Mass Ave NE - German food) and Bistro Cacao (322 Mass Ave NE - French food).- across from Capitol Market. Cabs were easy - either right out our door or by calling (to be certain for airport pick up). Brasserie Beck was worth the cab (about $10 each way) for dinner. We stayed five nights, which seemed perfect - meaning enough for this trip, and still more to look forward to if/when the opportunity arises to go to DC again. Some quick & easy potential enhancements: - perhaps leave 2 umbrellas in the stand by the door (weather during our stay called for 0% chance of precip but alas.....) - the Wi-Fi code on the printed sheet for visitors could be updated; the code is accurately printed on the Wi-Fi device in the house so we figured it out - after a little sleuthing -upgrade the TP please - though it did make me laugh that it reminded me of TP in France ;-) - add a box or two of Kleenex (we left one ;-) - water pressure in the bath tub..... not sure what the issue is, did not have the patience to figure it out. Absolutely beautiful tub, but we all used the super awesome shower in the other bathroom instead. -maybe leave a little note for guests on how to lock the back door (that was our "big" question while staying there, resolved in 10 seconds on the phone for the "trick") Thank you for a sincerely memorable and Fabulous Five Star visit to DC - expectations exceeded - well done.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Upon arrival to this property we found the key in the lock box exactly as promised. The owners provided a code to open the box. We entered the unit about 2 hours earlier than planned....which was not a problem. From the outside it looked just like the pictures. It was inviting! As we stepped in the first impression was terrific. We all shouted with glee as we looked past the front living room, through the hall to the back patio....which was ready and able to host a night on the grill! We found 2 keys on the kitchen counter then returned the original key to the lock box as directed. The place was reasonably clean but smelled just a bit like moth balls. The kitchen is modern and has everything one needs. The owner might want to invest in a new coffee maker, but we made due with the older version. There is a half bath on the main floor and 2 baths upstairs. One has a shower....no tub, and it is in the front bedroom which houses a Queen bed. If you dont like traffic/people noise, choose the back bedroom. It has a tub but the shower is attached to the taps and is hopelessly useless. So, we used the shower in the other room. Other than finding dirty underwear under the bed (we dropped our keys and they were found beside them), the place was clean...but the owner might want to do a really good cleaning and change out the bedding at some point. Again, we are not fussy people so not a big issue. The place is in a safe area within walking distance from Union station and the Capitol. With a little homework you will find restaurants and shopping nearby but hey, there are lots of same all over DC. After 4 days we departed, with educated minds, a full belly and a good rest thanks to this townhouse!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

My husband and I booked this location for two weeks in August. The location was perfect - a short walk to the market, shops, local attractions and restaurants. If you are someone who is paying top dollar and not getting clean accommodations, you should stay away. The shower was moldy as was the shower curtain. The silver vase in the powder room was tarnished and the flowers were dead. The kitchen was really dirty. Coffee stains in the stainless steel sink, the expresso machine was coated with milk on the frother. Nothing was spotless and I have pictures to back up these claims. I had to go shopping to get soap, toilet paper, paper towels and then spent a day scrubbing up. This was not the way I had envisioned spending my vacation - especially since I paid $150 for cleaning service. The outside garden was not attended to with many plants dead. My husband had to clean the outdoor BBQ before we could use it. It was full of spider webs and leaves. There were not enough chairs around the patio table. However, it was not comfortable outside because of all the mosquitoes. The property owners need to clean up their act before they advertise this as a five star. Until they clean it up I wouldn't recommend this property to a friend or relative.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children, pet owners.
Owner response: It is unfortunate this individual did not give us a call when she checked in. We strive our very best to deliver an excellent product and to please our guest. I think this is apparent from all the excellent reviews this property has received. We hope if you stay with us you will reach out to us and let us know what we can do to make your stay more pleasurable. Sadly we were not given an opportunity to address any concerns she might have had.

All the pictures are accurate and we had a great time at "Paris on Capitol Hill." My two teenage girls, wife and I had more than enough room to spread out. Clean, well kept, quiet (no street noise if you visit enough of DC sleep is sound), air conditioning works like a charm, great kitchen and a great location. OK maybe the TV could be a little bigger but it works. You really get the neighborhood feeling and we enjoyed it. The couch in the second bedroom pulls out and there is still plenty of space. We had a car and used it when we went to Arlington, Georgetown, the Zoo and going out to a nice dinner. Otherwise used taxis and used the metro (walking distance) once. Costs less to take a taxi to places across town like the memorials and the museums. You will need to pick up a parking pass at the local Police department to park on the street. Pretty easy and part of the adventure. You need to visit Eastern Market (walking distance) on Saturdays and on Tuesday (4-7pm) for farmers market. Fresh fruit, veggies, breads and local meats and there is Market Lunch that has southern breakfast and visit on weekdays the line on Saturday was 20 people deep. There are other places near Eastern Market to eat. The Capital is walking distance and they have a decent lunch menu at the Capital. I would also recommend listening to Jazz at the garden of the National Gallery of Art on Friday evenings (through August). Nice vibe you can bring picnic items although you have cannot take alcohol they sell it there. The pitcher of Sangria hit the spot. Bottomline - If we visit DC again we will stay here again.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with teenagers, tourists without a car, sightseeing.

Beautiful, spacious and well appointed apartment and very accesible with the transport system, making it excellent for sightseeing and a refuge from the city. Always a delight to come home in the afternoon, spent many evenings cooking and chatting in the kitchen. I would have no reservations in recommending this apartment, you will not be disappointed. The booking and reservations process was easy, no problems in getting access on arrival and apartment is as the advertised pictures. Thanks for a great stay.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, sightseeing.

House was exactly as described located in a quiet street a short walk from Union Station. All rooms where clean and well cared for and the small garden at the rear of the property was ideal for enjoying the evening sun Plenty of bars and restuarants in the area and well located to enjoy all that Washington has to offer. A lovely property that I would recommend to all.Recommended for: Age 55+, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Wonderful stay with a excellent property. Nice remodeling with all that you could possible need. Great location for all sightseeing. The only issue was the street parking. Make sure you read the sighs for street cleaning on Wednesdays and Thursday. They rotate which side you can or can not park on. We really had a GREAT time here. Location was great - walking distance to Metro and Capitol Hill. Accomodations were good- just like the pictures and description - very nice quite neighborhood. Our families enjoyed our visit to DC. Suggestion - have a map showing neighborhood, metro locaions, neighborhood stores and points of interest. Metro bus stop is on the street in front of the condo, subway is 8-12 blocks (Union Station and Easern Market). Would have liked to have a few blankets with the changes in weather.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children, tourists without a car, sightseeing.

This townhome is conveniently located on and very near Capitol Hill. It is nestled into a wonderful neighborhood with a grocery store, park and restaurants nearby. We came for a week in March during the cherry blossom season for a spring break vacation. We were traveling with two teenagers so walking to and from the museums and monuments was not a problem and it was nice to not to have to drive in the city. The only time that we drove was when we went to Mount Vernon. C street is easily accessible therefore in the morning it becomes the main street to the government buildings and there was traffic, however this is the only time that you will hear traffic. Union station is also within walking distance and could connect you to other parts of the city easily. The townhome is furnished well with 2.5 bathrooms and 2 bedrooms upstairs. The teenagers took the front room and one slept in the double bed and the other on the pull out sofa bed. The kitchen and living space were wonderful to return to and relax after a day sightseeing. We were able to access the internet without problems and if we had time for T.V. there were two available. The kitchen was well equipped and if we were staying longer cooking a meal or two would have been a great option. This is a wonderful place to stay with a family and get the feel of the city.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

My husband and I rented this lovely townhome for an extended stay of over a month and enjoyed it immensely. The location is wonderful. We walked to the Mall almost every day and visited the Smithsonian and the National Gallery of Art, as well as the many other area Monuments. Within a short distance there are excellent restaurants at Barracks Row and the Eastern Market. Our accomodations were lovely, and the owners were responsive and accomodating. Hope to return in the not too distant future! We loved our stay...Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, tourists without a car.

Tastefully appointed town home with character and a back yard to boot. Minutes to most local attractions. One could easily boast about how grande the rental accommodation is, yet I wish to focus on its locale. Steps to Capitol Hill, and if energetic, easy walking distance to Lincoln Memorial, White House, Washington Union Train Station, Washington Monument, National Mall etc, etc. I boast not about the walking. All these attractions and more were visited within one day, and all on foot, children in tow. Now back to the abode...... It's obvious Paul and Michael have a taste for the finer things in life as easily observed in this well appointed Capitol Hill gem. Recognizing the difficulty in keeping rental properties in tip-top shape, Paul and Michael achieve and even exceed the standards of even the most discerning traveler. I would recommend this little gem to anyone willing to experience Washington in its true glory. Thanks for the memories Andre and FamilyRecommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: We appreciate your kind words. I lived in this property for five years and wanted an elegant tranquil space in the city. After a hard day of work or a busy day of sightseeing it is a special place to come back to. We appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts... Michael

The Master Bath needs a shower. To stand and have to hold the shower head on a cord is difficult and dangerous. Make sure the internet is working prior to checking in. We spent a half day getting it to work. If a light buld burns out they are difficult to change you have to contact owner and get him to change. The house as many of these special bulbs and fixtures. good kitchen and bathrooms. The house needs a good cleaning of items laying around in dresser drawers, kitchen drawers and in closets. the owner needs to clean this up.Recommended for: Girls getaway, tourists without a car, sightseeing.

While sightseeing in Washington D.C., our family (4 adults and 3 kids) stayed at this location. The space was adequate for our group, but I must admit, we were a little disappointed when we walked in the door because it certainly wasn't as "polished" as it appears in the pics, and there are a few key things in the pictures (that we were counting on) that just weren't there! We had three children in our group, and planned on using the blow-up mattress for two of them, and the couch in the second bedroom for the youngest. Despite the picture that shows a yellow couch, we discovered there is NO couch in the second bedroom, and the only other couch in the place is downstairs, in the living room, in front of a big window (and those curtains apparently don't close completely) In addition, the picture of the master bath shows a huge tub with a hand-held shower head. The tub was great (one of the best things about this place), but there is NO hand-held shower head in the master bath. If you've got 6 people who like to get up and shower every morning, you'd better be willing to shower in pairs . . . in the 3/4 bathroom (which does have two shower-heads). Regarding the beds . . . the king bed in the master was decent. The queen bed in the second room looks real cute, but it was terrible! It was so uncomfortable that my husband and I both tossed and turned . . . a lot. Unfortunately, the bed was so loud and squeaky that every time one of us moved, it woke both of us. If you are sightseeing during the day, this is not the bed you want to come home to sleep in! The kids thought the air mattress was fine. In terms of location, it was just as advertised. Convenient to Union Station, grocery markets, and several restaurants. By the way . . . did you know the metro doesn't run all night long? Might want to check schedule before you plan to catch it to the airport on the weekend.Recommended for: Tourists without a car
Owner response: We always welcome reviews and any opportunity to improve our guests' experience. To that end, we have replaced the Murphy bed in the second bedroom with a high quality queen-size bed. We were in the process of replacing the sofa in the same bedroom when this guest stayed and there is now a new sleep sofa in place. We regret that it wasn't delivered in time for this guest. The hand held shower head in the master bathroom malfunctioned and we have so far been unable to locate the necessary replacement parts so for the time being, this bathroom will only offer the jetted bathtub.

We very much enjoyed our stay in DC, we were there June 27 - July 2. The comfort of your home was perfect after a day of sightseeing! Your house was lovely, just as advertised. Loved the kitchen, easy to work in. Nice patio for evenings! Close to everything in the Capital Hill and Mall area. We loved the coffee shops and Eastern Market nearby. Lots of restaurants, bakeries, and grocery shops in walking distance. Just a few minutes to Union Station as well. Parking was a breeze. We appreciated your help with last-minute questions and directions for obtaining parking pass, as well as the list of helpful items you provided in your house. We would definitely choose your home again for another visit to DC, and have recommended your property to a few friends already!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

My family of four just spent a week here and loved it. The neighborhood is very nice and the location is convenient. It's an easy walk to the Capitol, Supreme Court, Library of Congress, and Union Station. We also enjoyed walking down to the Eastern Market. The house is nicely updated and charming. We enjoyed having the lovely patio for relaxing with a glass of wine in the afternoon. The only thing that wasn't ideal for us is there was limited seating in the living room area for a family of four. People with very small children or who have trouble with stairs might have a problem here since the bedrooms are up a flight of stairs. Still, I would stay here again in a heartbeat.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
