Future son-in-law made arrangements for this gathering place for 4 couples arriving from various locales for a wedding in Fairhope. Could not be happier with this selection. Clean, homey, stocked with everything but personal clothes. Actually felt a little sentimental about leaving after only 4 days. We all wished we could stay longer. Owners are in another bldg. on site and are very accommodating. Even mailed us a jacket that was inadvertently left behind. strongly recommended

Delightful seclusion just off a main access road
Delightful seclusion just off a main access road
Delightful, immaculate accommodations in Creole cottage style home. Large bedrooms, 3 full baths and lots of windows. Grounds and landscaping are delightful. Great outdoor patio for morning coffee or afternoon leisure reading. Fully equipped kitchen , even tho we didn't utilize it. Three local restaurants within walking distance, and very quick and easy access drive into downtown Fairhope (3-5 minutes). Cottage is prettier and quainter than photos portray. Owner's kind hospitality allows you to access owner's pier on the water - an easy walk from the Cottage. Two fabulous restaurant recommendations from Mike - Pinzone's and Camelia's Cafe - are outstanding dining options. We highly recommend you catch sunset at Marriott's Grand or Fairhope Pier. The Kiln features local pottery, a regional artisan specialty. Multiple golf course options within 30 minutes. Fairhope is a great vacation destination. Kate's Cottage is a top accommodation.

We used Kate's place as a central location to play golf for 3 days. We played both courses at Lakewood in Point Clear. We played all 27 holes @ The Peninsula in Gulf Shores and played 36 the last day in Mobile at Magnolia Grove. Kate's place was convenient for all. We all had comfortable beds in 4 separate bedrooms and 3 bathrooms so we never felt cramped. We used the grill one night for cooking steaks. We ate at Wintzell's Oyster House one night ( maybe 3 minutes away & delicious ). We will definitely be back next year.

The house was wonderful, just as described. Mike and Kathleen were very gracious and helpful. It was very quiet and relaxing. Just a short walk to the water and use of owners pier. Definately will return!

All the Comforts of Home
All the Comforts of Home
My husband and I stayed for five weeks this summer at Kate's place. We had our family and friends as guests during about half of our stay. Kate's cottage is charming and fully equipped, even down to the hair dryers. We could not have been more comfortable. As an added bonus, Kate and Mike are gracious hosts. They accommodated five us at their pier on July 4th to view the outstanding fireworks. They shared beach chairs, the pier, bicycles and their time with us. This cottage and this town are perfect for a fun and refreshing vacation. We highly recommend Kate's Place.

This place was adorable. Four of us stayed there during the end of May and beginning of June. The weather was perfect for us. The house was very well stocked to our needs and very cozy. We are four seniors that travel all over and very often in the summer. Kate and Mike were very accomadating to us and made us feel at home instantly. We couldn't have ask for a better place to stay. Also loved the fact that restaurants were so close. People in the area were so friendly. We would love to come to the area again sometime. One of our best vacations!!!

About the owner: Kathleen (aka Kate) and I are migrants from the St Louis area. We moved here permanently in '09 for the climate and the lifestyle of a smaller community. Fairhope has all of the advantages of a small town and many of the advantages of a metropolitan area. We love the ambiance, working in the garden, boating on the Bay, meeting new people and keeping up with friends.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
The location is THE thing. If you get lazy and don't want to cook, there is a restaurant and a sandwich shop/bakery within EASY walking distance but you still have the privacy of a suburban neighborhood.
