AN AUTHENTIC LOG CABIN IN THE BERKSHIRE MOUNTAINS OF LITCHFIELD COUNTY CONNECTICUT. DOES IT GET ANY BETTER THAN THIS? Our log cabin is located on seven wooded acres with a lovely private pond and sandy beach, in historic Colebrook, Connecticut. A soaring beamed ceiling, skylights, and two stone fireplaces enhance the rustic charm of this cabin, which is furnished with everything you need for your stay. Two bedrooms accommodate two people each, the library/guest room has a pull-out sofa and sleeps two more people and the loft bedroom features three twin beds.
A dining room, eat-in kitchen, 3-season porch and basement recreation room with pool table and air hockey table provide plenty of action, space, and privacy for visitors of all ages to do their own thing. Read a book on the front porch, picnic in the meadow, or hike through the woods. There is a combination DVD/VCR player and monitor but television reception is poor.
The historic town of Colebrook is a brisk walk away. There you will find the public beach, a delightfully refreshing pond with picnic tables and changing rooms, basketball court, and baseball diamond. Nearby are four state forests. There are lots of indoor and outdoor activities all year round. Scenic drives in this area can be found on Route 7, Route 41, Route 44, and Route 272. WONDERFUL for autumn leaf-peeping or winter getaways. This is a very snowy area of Connecticut and ski slopes are just 15 minutes away.
Antique and curio shops are abundant along with galleries, restaurants, and wineries. Family fun activities include go-carts, batting cages, a multiplex movie theater for everyone and dinner movie theater for the 16 and older crowd. |
