This like-new, front row home, located in one of the best areas on the island, was built in 1994 and completely re-decorated in 2004. The coastal decor is relaxing and "beachy", in tropical colors with touches of whimsy. Comfortable, attractive furnishings and original artwork throughout.

All three bedrooms are upstairs with two directly fronting the ocean. Both oceanfront bedrooms offer incredible views of the Atlantic and open out onto the large 12' X 30' upper deck through their wide glass patio doors. Watch the sun rise each morning from your bed or sip coffee on the deck where the view is simply unsurpassed. Step onto this deck and see the most incredible panorama imaginable of the Atlantic Ocean. Comfortable, bar-height table and chairs offer full, unobstructed views over the rails for coffee or happy hour; and you can sunbathe in private in the comfortable chaise lounges. The third bedroom is in the rear of the house where glimpses of beautiful sunsets can be seen.
The master bedroom has a king bed and the other oceanfront bedroom has a queen. The third bedroom has two twins. Each bedroom has its own private bath, with the master bath having double vanities and a steam shower. Each bedroom has satellite TV and DVD. Bed linens & bath towels are provided.
Downstairs you'll find a spacious kitchen that overlooks a dining area and Carolina room, and a large great room, all looking out on the panoranic view through their walls of windows and glass patio doors. The long windows of the Carolina room directly front the ocean on one side; and three wide patio doors behind the great room front the ocean on the other. Beyond these patio doors is a screened porch, and beyond the porch is an open deck with seating over the dunes which is directly connected to the boardwalk to the beach. This house was designed to take full advantage of the views & proximity to the ocean.
The sunlit Carolina room has comfortable seating for reading; and and a desk overlooking the ocean with wireless, high-speed DSL connection for those who like to stay connected. A wireless printer is also provided (including install disk). The Wi-FI is the newest and fastest Wireless "N" (also works with both "-b" and "-g" notebook cards).
The kitchen is extremely well equipped and includes quality pots and pans, bakeware, utensils & flatware, several bright & colorful sets of dishes & placemats, several coordinating sets of regular & plastic glasses, an ample assortment of bar glasses including wine & champagne; a blender, hand mixer, toaster oven, coffee maker and bean grinder. Appliances include a dishwasher, electric cooktop & wall oven, microwave, and refrigerator with ice maker. A quality gas grill is on the oceanfront deck.
The great room has comfortable furnishings; and a wide-screen high definition TV with DVD and VCR. Satellite TV with over 130 channels, plus DVDs and VCR tapes for all ages. Also, a quality CD music system and selection of CDs covering music from contemporay pop hits, to steel drums and Jimmy Buffet, to jazz and Broadway musicals. Numerous books and magazines for all interests; puzzles, cards & games for kids and adults; and toybox with toys for the kids.
Also downstairs are a separate laundry room with washer and dryer, and a powder bath.
As you venture outside, you'll be amazed at the beauty of our little island. Walk from your oceanfront deck straight onto the wooden boardwalk that takes you across the dunes to the pristine, uncrowded beach. Watch the shrimp boats and their trails of dolphins or build sand castles and memories on the beautiful, white sand. Take a stroll and look for shells and interesting sea creatures, then let the truly gentle waves and breezes rock you to sleep.
For the more active types, the Beach & Racquet Club is a skip away (about a 2 to 3 minute walk) and offers a beautiful, large pool directly on the marsh with lots of chaises for sunning and an arbor for those who want a little protection. It also offers a baby pool, a volleyball court, a kids' playground, a small gift/sandwich/ice cream shop, tennis courts, and an inside fitness center - all overlooking the saltwater marsh with spectacular sunsets. Even closer (about a 1 minute walk) is another semi-private pool that is oceanside. The house is close to all of the fun, but just far enough away to be private and quiet.
The abundant creeks and marshes on the back side of the island also offer excellent opportunities for boating and fishing activities; and crabbing is always fun (and very productive) from one of the painted, wooden bridges on the island.
Gated for your privacy and security, Harbor Island is truly a quaint little island paradise. The most incredible pristine beaches and marshes serving as backdrop to tin-roofed houses in seaside colors, surrounded by lush low country vegetation. It is a nature-lover's paradise, with several protected Egret sanctuaries and a huge, protected Osprey nest. Loads of activities and opportunities for fun, but quiet and private.
