My sisters and I stayed here along with 2 babies and 3 of our men, and our first impression was, "Wow! This place looks so much better than the pictures!" Before arriving, the owner had called us to tell us that the previous renters broke the glass table and that same day they replaced the dining table just in time for dinner. Thank you!!! It was very cozy for the 8 of us-- we felt very at home. I'll be recommending this house to my family members and hopefully we'll be able to rent this house again next year. -Kitchen stocked with all cooking utensils you need. -Convenient washer and dryer for some of us who didn't pack enough. -Huge backyard that was filled in snow. My toddler had a blast here. -Christmas tree was provided for the holidays. -Quiet neighborhood -Very close to stores, restaurants, casinos, and ski resorts. -Owners are very helpful and easy to contact. -Clean, tidy, and well maintained.Recommended for: Girls getaway, adventure seekers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, families with young children, age 55+.

If you want to deal with a awesome owner then this should be your place. Everything was just as described and the 5 of us could not have been happier. All amenities are first class, short trip to downtown, located on a nice quiet street. The backyard is very well kept and Huge Hot Tub is a nice extra touch. Of course the topper to this is all 5 of us came back well ahead on the gambling end and the Giants beat the Cards on to get to the WS!!! We will be back next October for another round of SF Giants Playoffs...hopefully! Thanks Again The Snow CrewDid you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/1

We stayed here for a weekend for a girls trip. It was a fantastic location, and there are so many beds it's nice for a group to go. We walked to Lake Tahoe, and it was a $15 cab ride to the casinos. The hottub and huge living room couch were great bonuses. Danielle, the owner, was super helpful and responsive to emails and questions leading up to our stay. I would recommend and stay again! One small comment, there are two showers so beware when they are both going at once! You will both end up taking cold showers!Recommended for: Girls getaway, adventure seekers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, tourists without a car, pet owners, families with young children.

Had a wonderful time at the Bear House. The house was perfect for our short, end-of the summer getaway. The home was clean, well-furnished and had plenty of linens. The owners were very accommodating and replied promptly to all inquiries. We'd definitely consider the Bear House again for our next south shore stay!Recommended for: Girls getaway, adventure seekers, families with young children, age 55+.

Everything about this place was great! The cabin is beautiful and was larger than expected. We stayed here for three nights over New Years weekend, 10 adults, and there was plenty of room for everyone. The yard is huge, the spa is awesome, it's a quick walk to the lake and is centrally located, allowing everyone to visit their favorite Tahoe spots without much driving. The owner, Walden, was great to work with throughout the booking process. He was very accommodating and communicative and refunded the security deposit way faster than I'd expected. The neighbors did complain about the noise level on New Years Eve...I believe it to be the people living behind the house, so beware of that. I fully intend on renting this place for my next visit to South Lake and would recommend it to anyone! it would be perfect for a summer visit! All in all a wonderful experience and comfortable stay!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 4/4

It has a great location, layout, and many amenities such as a washing/drying machine, oven, microwave, stove, and etc. Everything you needed was right at your fingertips. Bear House exceeded our expectations! We had a fantastic time! This is a wonderful house to rent for any vacation. We were celebrating my birthday with a big group of friends and it was just perfect. We loved the jacuzzi and the open upstairs layout with kitchen, family room and dining room. It is a short walk to a small beach, close to the casinos, and has lots of restaurant nearby. We used the water floaties and bikes in the garage, which was a nice surprise. We also rented paddle boards from a local spot, which was a lot of fun (and pretty cheap!) Walden (the owner) was easy to get a hold of, made it easy to book the property, and was great with returning the deposit quickly. I will recommend this place to my family and friends!Recommended for: Girls getaway, adventure seekers, families with teenagers.

We came to the Bear House for our 2nd annual girls trip, and we had a GREAT time! Upon arriving at the house, we were blown away at how fabulous the house was--plenty of room for 8 girls. The bedrooms are nicely furnished, and beds were comfortable. The downstairs bathroom is especially beautiful. We also loved the upstairs living area. Nice big couch, large dining table, and bar stools around the kitchen prep area. All very nice kitchen appliances, including a very nice barbecue on the upstairs balcony. The entertainment system is awesome. We could watch streaming Netflix movies or listen to Pandora through the TV/sound system. We also enjoyed the jacuzzi in the backyard, which was heated when we got there. The house is in a beautiful neighborhood with big trees. A nice neighborhood stroll will take you to a delicious milkshake place. Safeway is less than a 5 minute drive away. We went to the beach, casinos, and restaurants in town, all of which were a short drive away. One last thing to mention...the owner is great to work with--very friendly and helpful. We WILL be back!!!Recommended for: Girls getaway, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, families with young children, age 55+.
