I had a similar experience with Vrotels. An apartment that really was not fit for human habitation. When we arrived we found that most of the bulbs in the apartment were blown and had not been replaced. The wifi functioned only some of the time. The television also only worked some of the time .. for whatever reason. Waste backed up in the sink and pipes were leaking. The apartment also had an infestation of mice, that scurried across the floor through the night, which Vrotels did nothing about. At no time did they offer compensation etc - in one email they simply said that "This unfortunately, is a problem in New York City that many residents encounter" and left it at that. So let that be a warning for any customers. If this is customer care in Vrotels this is scary! I would describe our Vrotels experience as expensive tenement living.Did you find this review helpful? This property is not rented by an individual owner it is rented by a company called vrotels. I recently rented this apartment from vrotels in NYC and I will NEVER do it again. The rental process is less than ideal. You pay a deposit upfront on your credit card but then you have to pay the rest in cash when you go to get the keys. The apartment was clean but the sheets were thin and scratchy. But it is the customer service and the ethics of the company that I warn you against using vrotels. The apartment I stayed in did not have heat for one the nights myself and 4 friends were there. We did not discover this until after the office had closed so when I called to report the heat had broken I left a voicemail. Mind you the high that day in NY was 16 degrees at night it was about 9 degrees, it was very cold in the apartment. We were checking out the next morning but still no one called me in the morning to follow up from my voicemail the night before. I had to call them in the morning to see if they were sending someone. No one had come by the time we left. I have called the vrotel office almost everyday for two weeks trying to find someone that will speak with me about compensation for the lack of heat when it was 10 degrees out. I have been given the run around every time I call. I am told that the person that has the authority to give me my money back is on medical leave. People promise they will call me back, yet I have never had anyone call me back. I have to keep calling every day. So my advise is to NEVER use this shady company, if something goes wrong they will never lift a finger to help you out.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 30/30
