Our log cabin sits in Emerald Valley on the shore of one of Alabama's treasures, 21,200 acre Lewis Smith Lake. We are also just minutes away from breathtaking Sipsey Wilderness Area which is in Bankhead National Forest. This area has so much to offer: from exploring exquisite waterfalls, catching an award winning bass, spending the day hiking the trails of Bankhead, to enjoying a relaxing day on the lake.
The house was constructed in 2008 with approximately 1,925 square feet of centrally heated and cooled living area and a 1600 square feet unfinished basement. It features three bedrooms and a loft, two baths, a fully equipped kitchen, dining room, laundry room and a large living area. All bedrooms are located on the main floor.
Two bedrooms feature king size beds. The other bedroom has a queen bed. The loft area has a full size bed. Master bath features a full bath that includes a shower, as well as a whirlpool tub. The other bathroom has a full combination bathtub/shower and double vanity.
The den/living area features glass windows across the back for a breathtaking view of Smith Lake and a fireplace. There is ample seating as well as a 42' wide screen LCD television.
The fully furnished kitchen has granite counter-tops with butcher block island and stainless steel appliances.
Great place to swim and fish from the boat dock. There is ample boat docking if you decide to bring a boat. A boat launch is available close to the lake house. We also have a pontoon boat for rent if interested.
There are numerous restaurants and grocery stores within a short driving distance.
***No smoking nor pets are allowed inside our home.

My husband and I rented this cabin for a weekend-get-a-way. We had a wonderful and relaxing time. Everything about the cabin was great - it was very comfortable, beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean. The owners, Randy and Denita, were wonderful to rent from. They provided everything necessary for a great time. We certainly hope to come again in the near future.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

Your home was inviting and relaxing. We completely enjoyed being away from it all. The beds were extremely comfortable. We loved having Christmas decorations to enjoy. Spent a lot of time on the deck enjoying the water view. It was very quiet and peacful. My friends and I had a great time at this cabin. The basement area was great because it was cool enought for ppl to sleep on an area matress down there, if needed . I loved the easy walk to the boat house. Overall great experience at this house.. My favorite thing about the cabin was the fact that we were up a cove away from all the boat traffic, and it was on brushy creek. I didn't have to worry about my boat getting beat up.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

My family loved the location of the cabin and thought it was gorgeous. The only complain we had was the air condition was not so good during the daytime. Very clean and well kept cabin.Recommended for: Families with young children.

Some friends and I spent a weekend at this house over the 4th of July weekend and we could not have asked for a better house and people to work with than the Lee's. The house was beautiful and had everything and more than we could have needed. We will definitely bookmark this place and have already mentioned trying to go at least once a year.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

My wife and I rented this beautiful property for two weeks in the summer of 2010. We had a wonderful experience! The pictures on this site do no justice to the beauty of the home and natural surroundings. An added bonus was just how clean the home was... it was as if a cleaning service had left the house spotless. We absolutely loved sitting on the porch overlooking the lake as we drank our morning coffee... we also enjoyed sitting out while the sun set. About the owner: My name is Denita Lee and my husband's name is Randy. We are both educators. I retired in 2007 after teaching 32 years and Randy has taught for 33 years and he is currently the principal at Addison Elementary School. Randy also is chairman of our deacons at First Baptist Church Addison and I teach 5th & 6th grad Sunday School. We love to travel, but most of all we enjoy spending time with our family & our church family.
Why the Owner Chose Houston:
Randy and I have always enjoyed and lived in this area. In 2008, we built our log home in Emerald Valley Estates, which is on Smith Lake. This is a very peaceful, beautiful area which has much to offer. Our home is about a 10 minute drive to our cabin.

We have year-around water with great fishing, boating, and swimming, or you might simply want to relax while enjoying the breath taking view.
