Spacious, private, clean, family friendly home located on the waters of Northport Bay, nestled on a quiet street, and less than a mile to the village of Northport. The home has 130 feet of waterfront, a sandy area for kids to play(with a playground and fire-pit), a dock for easy access to the water, and a second level deck.
This home has 3 levels of living. The main floor has a great room offering spectacular views of the water and sunrises. It also houses the master suite with a queen bed and full bath. There is an office next to the master suite that has a twin bed. The top floor is cozy and quiet with two bedrooms--one with a queen(and crib) and the second with a queen and twin. The finished walkout has two more bedrooms--one with two twins and the second with a bunk-bed that has a full bed on the bottom. The walkout leads to a patio with an outdoor shower, porch swing, and the sandy backyard.
This home is open year round and surrounded by outdoor activities galore. If you don't have a boat there are several marinas that do rent motorboats, kayaks, jet skis, etc. The water is crystal clear, refreshing, and because of the bay, warmer than Lake Michigan. There are several parks, natural areas, and of course the National Lakeshore, that are great to explore in the summer or winter. Nearby there are plenty of quaint little towns for shopping and Traverse City is a short and beautiful 40 minute drive away with anything you would ever need.
If you need even more room for extended family check out our neighbor #113691.

My wife and I, along with four of our friends, just spent the weekend on Northport Bay for a color/winery tour. This is a tradition of ours, but the first time we have stayed at this location. We really enjoyed our time and were very pleased with this rental. The only thing we would mention is that parts of the house were not sufficiently prepared. I believe there were five light bulbs that were burnt out. I found light bulbs and replaced four of them, but could not find any more to replace all of them. Also, in the upstairs bathroom there were some hairs on the floor by the bathtub. Outside of those minor issues, we really enjoyed our time. The kitchen worked beautifully, the grill cooked well (the scrapper has seen better days), the fireplace was nice and there was plenty of wood that was cut, dried and stacked in the garage. We would definitely consider renting this place again.Recommended for: Girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, families with teenagers.
Owner response: Thank you for your review. I apologize for the light bulbs. We will be sure to have extras on hand in the future. I do have a local care taker that is available to take care of things like that during a renters stay. I am also addressing the cleaning issue.

Five couples were scheduled to rent this gorgeous home in Northport but four ended up going. The house is clean, big and very spacious. All the amenities you could want are there. The views are AWESOME. The one minor complaint would be the plastic matress protectors making so much noise and the master bedroom sheets simply wouldn't stay on the bed. Other than that things were INCREDIBLE!!!!Recommended for: Girls getaway, age 55+, romantic getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, families with teenagers.
Owner response: Thank you for your review. I agree that the mattress covers are not the best, but we find them a necessity for sanitary reasons. I apologize for the sheet situation. I think the sheets must have gotten mixed up because we have to use a specific set of sheets for that bed since it is a pillow top. We will be sure to double check in the future.

This place is just outstanding! We stayed here for a week for a family wedding this summer. Gorgeous views, great kitchen, and living area. Deer in the later afternoon, amazing sunrises! Quiet Area. We found this to be the most economical rental. The house is spacious, and well taken care of. We are considering a Christmas Getaway!! Thank you to the owners!Recommended for: Girls getaway, age 55+, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with young children, families with teenagers, people with disabilities.

We had a wonderful experience! The home was perfect for our large group of family and friends - ranging in ages from infants to adults. The owners thought of everything that would make our stay enjoyable. Not only did they provide a crib, but also 2 high chairs, a booster seat, toys, books, games and numerous beach toys. Having all of those amenities available for use made it so much more enjoyable for the adults! Everyone loved playing on the beach and sitting around the fire pit in the evenings. There was plenty of space inside the house for large group meals and for everyone to still have a little privacy. It was a lovely trip that we hope to make year after year.Recommended for: Girls getaway, tourists without a car, age 55+, adventure seekers, sightseeing, families with young children, families with teenagers.

Everything you would possibly need for your vacation is there for you! All you need do is pack your clothes, bath towels and food (store less then a half a mile from the house). Beautiful area for walking, jogging, biking, kayaking and just enjoying the outdoors. The house is absolutely gorgeous and very well furnished, there are ample beds, baths, and spaces for everyone (we were 10 guys). The property is beautiful and the view is amazing. We enjoyed relaxing by the fire every night and watching the sunset. The vineyards are so close and the towns of Leland, Fish Town and Suttons Bay are only a short drive. A really wonderful retreat for larger family or just a retreat.Recommended for: Girls getaway, age 55+, adventure seekers, sightseeing, families with young children, families with teenagers.

About the owner: We grew up vacationing in northern Michigan. It was a tradition that started when our mother was a child. Here's what we remember about those summers--sand in everything, even food--dune picnics--cherries--walking to ice cream on a nightly basis--some cool days to spend shopping or reading a book inside--community bands performing outdoor concerts--whitefish--a house packed with relatives--and memories that last a lifetime.
