Villa Santa Barbara is a hidden gem. We spent most of our stay in the hot tub, admiring the view or drinking coffee on deck overlooking the ocean. A short walk on the beach took us into town where we bought fresh prawns from the marina which we then cooked in the very well equipped kitchen. We could hear the sound of the waves from the king sized bed as we drifted off to sleep. Our stay was perfection...Recommended for: Romantic getaway.

From the moment we arrived at this wonderful suite we felt the stress slip away-such a romantic getaway, it was simply better than expected. The suite was super clean and bright, you can lay in bed (the most comfortable bed, like sleeping on a cloud) and look out and see the wonderful West Coast mountains and the Pacific Ocean, or enjoy the view from your private deck with hot tub, the views are simply breathtaking. There is beach access right from the property and the walks on the beach were unforgettable. The garden was beautiful with all the spring time flowers out in bloom. The kitchen is stocked to perfection, everything you need is right there. The town of Gibsons is so charming & has wonderful restaurants & shopping as well. The owners Barb & Barry are so accommodating, were very helpful when needed, but also respected our privacy & were not intrusive at all. The ferry ride from Vancouver is only 40mins & covers you for both directions, how great is that! We cannot recommend this property enough. Words & pictures cannot describe the beauty and sanctity of this wonderful spot, you will not be disappointed, we just got home & we cannot wait to go back.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

We stayed for 5 nights and had a perfect stay! The view is the best on the Sunshine Coast. The cottage had everything we needed to prepare a full meal. The hot tub is amazing and Barb was very helpful with recommendations. We hiked Soame's hill and one of our favorite meals was when we bought fresh fish from the dock and grilled it back at the cottage. Everything was perfect and relaxing, thank you!!Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

Date of stay - June 20/21, 2012. Review submitted - June 22nd. Just returned from two great nights at Santa Barbara (Gibsons). A hidden paradise only 50 minutes from downtown Vancouver. What an amazing place/experience, the setting could not be more perfect! From watching the distant ferry lights go in/out at night as you soak in the private hot tub, to watching the sunrise over the beautiful mountain backdrop from the plush king size bed in the morning. The siesta home by the water a most unexpected surprise! Villa Santa Barbara (Gibsons) has amazing hosts/owners, such warm/wonderful hospitality. They provided us the lay of the land and many suggestions on things to see and do. We stayed in the beach bungalow suite and only saw them on arrival and departure-total privacy! We have travelled to many parts of the world - from Columbia to Langkawi, Malaysia, Bora Bora to Cape Town, South Africa, Villa Santa Barbara (Gibsons) is an undiscovered gem of British Columbia/Sunshine Coast. Words and pictures cannot do it justice, you have to see first hand to truly understand how amazing it is. We look forward to returning and also experiencing Villa Santa Barbara Barra de Navidad!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

We had a last minute decision to leave the city and enjoy the quaint sunshine coast. This place was a great find. Excellent location, fabulous view, wonderfully comfortable bed and the hot tub was perfect. Even though it was the beginning of October, we were able to sleep with the patio door cracked open for the wonderful fresh air. The owner's are friendly and very hospitable.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway.
Owner response: Really enjoyed sitting around the campfire and chatting. Interesting to hear about your profession and all your travels. Barry and Barb
