Just returned from San Pedro, Ambergris Caye. What a wonderful experience. I took my Bride of 15 yrs to celebrate our anniversary, and we had a most memorable time. Our hosts at the time were the owners, who were very kind, considerate, thoughtful and generous. The photos accurately described the rental very well. Our accommodations, were very clean & tidy, plenty of room, a nice kitchen were we prepared food from the local fruit / veggie stands in San Pedro about a mile away. We rented bikes for transportation, however would consider a golf cart, as the roads were sometimes a bit bumpy on the bottom. The beach was very close and convenient, with beautiful vistas, great diving and snorkeling especially if you rent a kayak for a small fee to venture out to the reef. Diving with Ecologic Divers, was a pleasure safe, smart & very fun. The locals for the most part were kind and helpful, the food at the resorts was good to great. Try Estelle's for Breakfast Elvie's for lunch and dinner. The Palapa was a fun place to have dinner and drinks, (owned by a retired firefighter, now living in Belize) The White Sands Resort is also a great place for an affordable dinner or lunch, + tasty food! Overall, I highly recommend Mr. Craig's place, because he takes great pride in making sure you are cared for and understands the needs of the renter...knows a lot about the local scene and more...a real pleasure to talk to. If you want a very affordable, comfortable, clean and convenient place...Look no further!!

I just returned from an eight-day stay at Mr. Craig's Place in San Pedro. Upon arrival, we were greeted by a very friendly hostess who lead us into our apartment. The space was impeccable. A bowl of fresh cut flowers garnished the dinning table. We were "at home." The owner even stocked our fridge with bottled water. The place offered many modern amenities, including international cable TV and WiFi internet access. The owner was available to offer suggestions such as "must see" places and local restaurants. In addition to the owner's availability, the housekeeper was fantastic and went beyond her call of duty to ensure that we were comfortable. Being a local, she even helped us arrange tours and golf cart rentals. I cannot say enough about my experience at Mr. Craig's Place. I would recommend this place without reservation! We especially enjoyed watching the sunset over the lagoon and the short walks to the the beach for sun and swimming. Overall, our experience there was great!!! We will definitely return.

We stayed with Craig for four days and had a wonderful time. He was very courteous, kind, willing to help, and great to chat with in his palapa. The apartment is much nicer than most places on the island. Everything was put together with care and craftsmanship. It was very clean and close to plenty to do on the oceanside, which was about a two minute walk from his place. Kathleen, my partner, had a great time at Akbol, the yoga place, which was a very short walk away. I highly recommend his place. Thanks Craig. Joshua

Can hear the owner in in the middle of the night through the walls into the bedroom.. Allows his female friends to do their laundry, break the machine and use up all the well water so there`s none left when you need to do yours. Kept half my damage deposit becasue I complained and wanted to move...had stayed for two months too long.

Owner response: The truth! This person manipulated a long term lease at a low rate. Shortly after this person moved in, the “owner” went back to the US. Then, the supposedly “Solo” renter moved in male friends, son and daughter with her friend. After six weeks of the seven month lease, “Solo” decided to break the lease and came up with petty fabricated complaints and excuses to move, in order to receive a refund of deposit. A portion of the deposit was retained for; 1. To clean up filth left in apt. 2. Repairs to washer (pried open to defeat a safety feature), 3. Planted a garden and used up well water to water garden, 4. Gave away or sold my baby banana trees… there’s more but that is enough! I do agree with one thing “two months too long”.

I had the pleasure of staying here for a week last winter. I loved it. The beautiful property and house make it a great place to stay. I loved watching the sun set from the back yard, then in the morning walking to the beach and watching the next sun rise. There are a few places to eat really close by, so if you plan to stay by the house then you have some great options. I liked taking day trip excursions, and the boats dropped me off at the yoga retreat next door, (a great place to grab a bite too, btw) so I was never far from home. I've recommended staying here to anyone who would listen. I hope to be back again soon.

I am a 21 year old, stressed out college student and stayed in this apartment for 4 days (3 nights) for spring break with a friend. We loved the secluded property and it's close proximity to the Yoga resort. The seclusion made for a very relaxing, stress-reducing vacation. There are nice bars and restaurants right down the road, and town wasn't too far either (for when relaxing got boring, and we wanted to be real college students and party). The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the kitchen was very convenient. The apartment was just enough space for my friend and I to comfortably cohabitate, especially the bathroom (two high-maintenance girls in one bathroom...) It was way better than being cramped in a small, smelly, moldy hotel room. The area was quiet and we both felt very safe. The neighbors were nice and welcoming to visitors. My friend and I rode bikes into town almost everyday. When we didn't feel like doing that, we went to the beach, or one of closer bars and restaurants. The palapa was such a nice place to sit and have our morning coffee while we planned out our day, and with the beautiful lagoon, it was the perfect place to come back to to our day watching the breathtakingly amazing sunset. The owners are very nice, accommodating, and helpful too. Overall, my stay was wonderful and very relaxing. I will definitely go back.

I rented the apartment for 6 days and was very pleased. I was especially impressed with the spacious kitchen area. The beach is a short walk away. If you go into town often, I would suggest renting a cart. If you want the feel of a home away from home, this place is for you.

I rented this apartment for 6 months and absolutely loved it! The reason I chose this place was because it is near a yoga eco resort with whom I am friends with the owners. It is steps away from the beach and the location is perfect. The area is very safe AND the neighbors surrounding this apartment all look out for eachother. Everyone is so welcoming! I lived alone and did not feel uneasy or unsafe. There are a couple of places to eat within walking/biking distance so I did not feel isolated whatsoever. I met so many great people, locals and expats, alike. I would definitely stay/live in this apartment again with no hesitation.

                  Owner info

                  Year Purchased: 2009

About the owner: I live in Massachusetts US (sometimes) and work on my property and boat in Belize (most of the time). I am a retired engineer who will never stop working, especially on my boat in Belize. While staying at the property, first I put the watch away and get out the tee shirts, shorts and sandals, that's all I need. In the morning I enjoy coffee and the scenery over the lagoon while listening to the birds and meditating. Then I get to work for a little while after I decide, 'What do I WANT to do today... not 'What do I HAVE to do today'.

Why the Owner Chose San Pedro:
I've vacationed in practically all the Caribbean Islands. In 2008 vacationed Ambergris Caye Belize... 2009 purchased the property because Isla Bonita is the Best!
