Nestled in the hills just above the Roxy Ann Winery and minutes from Roxy Ann Peak hiking trails, this beautifully furnished and unusually large 2 story luxury unit has amazing views of the nearby vineyard, the valley and surrounding mountains. High above and behind the owner’s home on their gated property, this very private, unique and tranquil space has countless amenities.
Not only is the Roxy Ann Retreat a perfect location for a romantic getaway, but it also offers enough floor space to accommodate families with small children (if you bring your own travel crib or aero bed).
Centrally located, it’s a quick drive to Ashland and the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, Jacksonville, Rogue River, Lake of the Woods and surrounding areas.
Relax on the deck with your loved ones (or from the large window in the bedroom) and watch our breathtaking sunsets, after a day of wine tasting, theatre or rafting.
We look forward to your visit.
About the Owner: Originally from the San Francisco Bay Area, husband and wife, David and Elyse Roxander, have been teaching dance, directing and choreographing for over 20 years. One of the things they enjoy most about the Rogue Valley is the ever changing seasons and the physical beauty of the area. They are also frequent visitors to the nearby Oregon Shakespeare Festival and the quaint and charming town of Ashland.
Not only are we a short trip to the Shakespeare Festival, local wineries, and more, our home is a mere 2 minute drive to the Roxy Ann Peak hiking trails, which boast some of the most amazing and panoramic views of the valley. On a clear day you can see forever!

The pictures of the home are perfect. What you get is even better than what you see in the pictures. The home was clean and well kept. We come to Medford often and this was the first time we stayed in a VRBO property. We were delighted! The owners have gone out of there way to make you feel welcome and at home. It is private and peaceful, located 5-10 minutes from town, over looking part of the city, beautiful sunsets just like they told us. It was the perfect place to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary. The owners added some special touches of love for our celebration. We hightly recommend you giving this sweet place a try, we know you will love it. We will return.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

We were very pleasantly surprised when we arrived at the Roxy Ann Retreat. It is spacious and beautifully decorated as well as very well appointed and clean. We carried in our belongings and just before dinner, we went upstairs to enjoy watching the mountain vista sunset over a glass of wine and nibblies! Its location was perfect for us. We hiked at nearby Roxy Ann Peak, went to two different plays at OSF in Ashland (easy drive down I-5), snow shoed at Crater Lake (under two hour drive), lunched and wandered around Jacksonville, enjoyed the Harry and David tour and more. There was a great library of DVDs to peruse and enjoy also. We would recommend the Roxy Ann Retreat wholeheartedly!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

We really enjoyed our stay here again. We have stayed once before and definitely want to return again. The rooms are spacious, the house immaculate, peaceful atmosphere, wildlife gazing, great sunset views, and very nice and accommodating owners who go out of their way to make sure your stay is enjoyable and that you have everything you need. They make you feel right at home. We stayed here for Thanksgiving and had family come over for dinner. The kitchen had everything we needed and there was ample room for everyone. There is a nice winery nearby, and it is close to great shopping and restaurants. Great central location to everything, short drive to mountains, skiing nearby, theaters/plays in Ashland, and river rafting.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

loved the place! Clean, well decorated, spacious and most of all private! The location is a separate house from the main property. The picture of property is not very accurate is really more wonderful than it is portrayed. The beautiful sound of the waterfall in the property is very calming and the surroundings are so pleasant. The property was extremely clean and well maintained, it was a dream. The owners were helpful out their way and not intrusive at all. Is as if I owned the house myself. They have great coffee machine and also a guest treat basket with lots of yummy things! The kitchen and BBQ is fully functional and easily a guest can prepare a dinner. There is nothing missing in this property. I would recommend this property to my friends and relatives. Best kept secret in Medford OR. The vineyard nearby is wonderful and there was an opportunity for tasting a buying local wine. The colours during my stay were fantastic and the location of the site is great and a good high vantage point. There is beautiful places to walk nearby and it is well connected to Meford OR downtown. Everything is near there. I had a Mexican restaurant tour and of all of them the Si Casa Flores is the best on overall Mexican cuisine. For real tacos Tacos Mi Tierra, although it may look like a hole in the wall is the most authentic tacos I have ever tasted in US or Canada. Coffee places are abundant and no need to be the regular S....b...ks. There are many local coffee shops like Buttercloud, The Good Bean, Bad Ass Coffee with wonderful kona coffee, Dutch Brothers yummy, Downtown Grounds. Ashland is very near and has wonderful stores, coffee shops and hidden gardens. Talent has a wonderful Mexican Restaurant called Inti and it really has that Mexican flavour restaurant from the provinces near Mexico City! The food was fantastic. All these places where less than 20 minutes drive from downtown Medford. Carter Lake is also near by and Northern California hikes are also very near. And loved the idea that OR does not have taxes! So, come and stay in this wonderful location, enjoy serenity with all the amenities as well.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing.

We loved this place! It is a home on its own with one BIG living room and kitchen in one and one BIG bedroom upstairs. It is nicely furnished with a little art and Asian style, brand new kitchen, big TV screens, nice terrace for dining. The house is in a residential area great for jogging and walking. From the terrace, we enjoyed spectacular views over the valley and mountains. Excellent address!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Roxy Ann Retreat couldn't have been more welcoming; from its newly painted yellow exterior to its elegant and calm interior it is furnished and decorated to the highest degree of quality and designed for serenity and comfort. We wanted for nothing. We spent a wonderful week here. Medford provided sunshine, great hikes (Table Rocks, Roxy Ann Peak, Grizzly Peak, Howard Prairie Lake) and it was easy to reach Crater Lake (just do it!) and Ashland (don't miss the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, we saw a stupendous production of Troilus and Cressida at the New Theatre). Our hosts were charming and welcoming and went way beyond the extra mile to provide everything we needed for our wellbeing and comfort.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 3/3

Roxy Ann Retreat was a wonderful property, very spacious and an incredible value. David and Elyse have thought through absolutely everything that guests could possibly need! The photos of the property are accurately reflect all that it has to offer. It was wonderful to have a full kitchen and I don't think we'll ever be able to stay in a hotel again for future vacations... My husband and I traveled out to the west coast for the hiking and wineries and were not disappointed. Roxy Ann winery, which was right down the hill from this property, was our favorite! We also took day trips to Crater Lake, the Redwoods, the Oregon Caves and the coast. If you'd like to attend any plays in Ashland, I highly recommend buying your tickets early... we went last minute on a rainy weekday and all the discounted ones were sold out! David and Elyse have all the maps, brochures and information for nearby traveling destinations, which we appreciated a lot. Also, the Medford Visitor Center next to the Harry & Davids store has a lot of good information as well as discount coupons.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with young children.

We stayed here for a week in May 2012 and the place was comfortable, clean, quiet and very reasonable. We even had our three granddaughters spend one night with us and the queen airbed and twin sleeping pad made it possible. Best place for two people looking for something different and fun. Shopping and great restaurants within 3 miles. Would recommend to our friends. We saw the owners several times briefly, but never formally met them with our busy schedule. We plan on staying there again during our next trip to Medford. It beats any 5 star hotel experience we ever had, so don't hesitate on staying here, as a romantic getaway from it all.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, romantic getaway.

I have been renting vacation homes for over 20 years, and this is among the finest anywhere. I hesitate to describe how lovely this place is, and how beautifully equipped, because I don't want any competition for dates! However, it must be said. Elyse and David are the pluperfect hosts, who have created a traveller's sanctuary. They will leave you entirely alone, unless you need something, and then viola!, it will appear. This gracious home is immaculate, peaceful, sweet smelling, and lovely. You will wake to chirping birds, and perhaps deer roaming in the beautiful yard. And if you appreciate art and learning, you will feel blessed.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 2/2
