North Coast Village condo description
Stroll down to the seawall at sunset with your bottle of wine or champagne- a couple of plastic glasses - and your binoculars. If it is winter - you will likely get a good view of some whales passing by enroute to their winter homes in Mexico - If it is summer you will be dazzled by the array of boogie borders and surfers dotting the surfline in our world famous short board beach. Any time of year you will be calmed by the pounding of the surf at the base of our seawall and the fantastic almost spiritual sunsets we enjoy nearly every day.
If you are with your kids - perhaps it is the end of a special day at one of the area amusement parks and you're all ready for a hot tub or swim in our heated pools. If this is an adult vacation .. perhaps you can end your day with a workout in our gym and a few minutes in our saunas - or try your hand at our putting green, or in the ping pong centers. You can bbq outside all year long at the professional bbq center next to the main pool.
We have titled our 2 bdrm cottage style condo the Secret Garden bungalow because our location within the complex is in an amazing little jungle of tropical trees and foliage - not unlike what you see in Hawaii Our deck literally overhangs a waterfall and With huge tropical trees and plenty of shade from summer sun. Our unit is not an ocean view - it is on the East boundary of our complex. We are closer to the railroad tracks than the waterfront units - and you will get more train rumble here, but generally no tooting as our complex is not adjacent to any rr crossing. We have priced our bungalow similar to what a 1 bdrm unit rents for - but you get so much more for your money!
On a very positive note, we are an end unit - upstairs with no one above us and we have no other condo on 3 sides. That means extra windows - including skylights - and very little 'neighbor' noise to bother you day or night. Our garden location is private and quiet (except for train rumble) - the outside balcony is completely enclosed by thick green foliage and full grown banana leaf trees - a cool respite after a hot summer day. Our pricing reflects our location within the complex - not the quality inside .. and we are still just a short walk thru the gardens to the beach that you came to enjoy.
In our budget bungalow - everyone will have space to stretch out and find some privacy. There is 1050 sq feet of living space all on one floor with 2 full bedrooms and 2 full baths on one side and a full kitchen, dining, living room -plus an outside balcony deck with a custom dining counter on the other side. A doorway shuts off the bedroom side which gives even more privacy and peace if someone needs a nap! We have a large walk in kitchen with a small table for your toddlers or preschoolers. We also have a dining room table and bar counter too.
Our Master Bedroom has a Cal King bed - mission style furniture - a portable crib - a convertible chair bed - and wall mounted TV with vcr - The master bedroom has a private bathroom with sink, shower and toilet and a couple of closets. This room has a portable AC unit set up between May and October - available by special permit from the HOA. It lets you close the new double pane high efficiency windows - and cool off your primary sleeping area quickly. Our 2nd bedroom has a new Spring Air queen bed - wicker dresser -large closet stocked with baby equipment like booster seats and umbrella stroller - a wall mounted TV with VCR. Our 2nd bathroom is just outside in the common hallway between the two bedrooms it has a full tub, shower sink and toilet.
Our Living room area has all new furniture 2013 - plus new carpeting - We have warm colors in Cinnamon and Navy blue - with cool grey carpet. In the LR we offer a twin sofa sleeper. We keep 2 large tri fold futon mats and one small toddler sized futon stacked in the corner of our living room to provide flexible sleeping options.
We include WIFI in our condo and all of our tv's are high quality: Phillips, Sony or Toshiba are our favorites. All have front AV jacks for your games. We have a nice stereo in the Living Room that plays cd's and mp3's too. Our video library has over 50 titles in both vcr and DVD format. The living room video player is a combo dvd/vcr. As we update our units - or when equipment fails we upgrade to the newest formats available. Flat screens - BlueRay or HD are not yet in all of our units - but when individual electronic pieces fail and need to be replaced we replace with current technology.
One of the best aspects of renting a condo is being able to cook your meals rather than dining out. Sure it's nice to have a couple of meals out - especially if you have a very busy day. We can recommend budget minded restaurants close by the condo even within walking distance- or close to some of the main local attractions to help you stay within your vacation budget.
Our kitchen is fully equipped. We have a full size range, oven, dishwasher, refrigerator, microwave, toaster oven, george foreman grill, blender, tea kettle, tea pot, coffee maker and all the dishes, cups and glasses and enough support items to cook a full thanksgiving dinner (if you want to).
They say we have the best weather in the entire world in San Diego County .. not too dry - not too wet, not too cold, and a mild range of temperatures that bring world travelers to our area all year long. It's so easy to get here too. We have 5 major airports all within a 2 hour drive including San Diego International and Santa Ana John Wayne International just 30 and 45 minutes away respectively. You are bound to find a flight and a fare that matches your needs.
When you are considering your travel needs .. and costs and the chaos that generally comes with traveling with kids ..or the chaos of traveling in our emotionally mixed up world today ... you are going to be very pleasantly surprised at the ultimate cost of your vacation in our condo. Your wallet will be pleased, your nerves will be soothed, and hey it's safe to drink the water too! Please read our guest reviews and leave one too!

Excellent 2 Week Stay in G2 at NCV
Excellent 2 Week Stay in G2 at NCV
Our family had a fantastic stay here at North Coast Village. It was a great two week stay with great weather and no negative issues to report. This unit is fantastic in a quiet part of the property which meant it was not windy, loud, and little foot traffic. The unit is immaculately maintained and equipped with everything you could possible need and very comfortable. Our family of 4 fit in perfect and with 2 full baths, no arguments ensued. Train noise was minimal, similar to a truck going by. North Coast Village is a haven. It is on quiet part of the beach away from the bustle at the pier, but great for walking either to the pier or the harbor for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. The grounds and facilities are extremely well maintained. Bring your bikes as they have a bike storage room and there is a 7 mile multi-use trail literally across the street from the unit. The place is like staying at a high end resort without all those parking\taxes\resort fees that they add on. We were even lucky enough to meet the owner Cindy. Cindy was super nice and was very responsive through the entire rental process. You will not go wrong renting this unit or another unit from Cindy. We cannot say enough good things about our experience and dealings with Cindy. Thanks so much Cindy for a great stay and we look forward to working with you next year. Owner response: We are thrilled that Caroline and her family had a great time.. In fact they have booked already for next year. This is exactly the king of response we are aiming for with each of our rentals. Renting from the internet is daunting - and for many it is a new experience. We will try to make the rental process easy. We will try to make our condo fit your family just like you are visiting a friend's home. We will try to answer all of your questions so you will know what to expect and get the most out of your vacation dollars. We aim for consistency so that our condos stay refreshed - clean - welcoming - each and every year. We write in our description that we are a budget bungalow because we don't have the ocean view. But what we do have is a great private little enclave - surrounded by thick tropical foliage - and a giant waterfall under our deck - and a spacious one floor end unit which is very well equipped. Our condo is easy access to the beach - pool - clubhouse everything. And - we spend a small fortune on upgrading our condo with all new top of the line doors and windows - extra energy protection and super quiet too. We even have one of the only approved AC units in the entire complex - so if you are from Arizona and dependent on an AC .. our master bedroom has one for you. Come and enjoy G2 - for about the same price as a one bedroom .. we'll leave the light on for you!

We just returned from a three night stay at this property in North Coast Village. Living in the desert we knew we'd enjoy the cool temperatures of Oceanside and were bascially willing to accept any living accommodations just to get out of the heat. We were so pleasently surprised when we arrived. The condo is perfect! Yes, its at the farthest point from the beach, close to the train and had a couple of lights that weren't working but none of that matters-trust me! The walk to the beach can wind through the beautifully landscaped complex, past the pool and spa, past the putting green and all the Koi ponds directly to the beach. The entire walk takes less than five minutes! The train nosie was never bothersome in fact it reminded me of times past when we [the country] were dependant on trains for transportation; almost like a lullaby to wisk you off to sleep. As for the non-working lights-if you went to the ocean to worry about that then I personally think you need to chill. The condo offers two bedrooms and two baths which is perfect for two couples. The bedroom are decorated very nicely and the beds are comfortable. The living/dining room is very welcoming and provides ample seating for all. My favorite place was the balcony. It has a view that makes you feel like you are in the tropics and the gentle breeze coming through the trees is heavenly. The cross breeze you get from leaving both the font and balcony doors open feels so good! We had a wonderful time and cannot wait to return and yes we will be hoping this unit is available!

Owner response: We are thrilled that Debbie had a great time and was pleased by her G2 Cottage. We have added super insulating doors and windows - but as energy efficiency and also for noise control. They are GREAT! In addition we have decorated and outfitted for comfortable sleeping and gatherings for up to 6 persons. The back balcony with the custom dining counter built into literally hangs over the waterfall - amidst giant banana leaf trees and a tropical jungle of plants. It is amazing and feels like Kauai .. We can't wait for our guests to return and enjoy more beach time. Thanks for posting! We'll leave the lights on for ya! Cindy and Gregg
June Family Vacation
June Family Vacation
Hi there. I wanted to send an email and just thank you so much for your vacation rental. It was the first time we have ever rented a vacation home instead of booking a hotel and we were a little nervous. We thought your place was fantastic! I cannot begin to tell you how much my children loved staying there. My daughter, who is 6, gets very anxious about staying anywhere but at home, she had the best time and told us that this was her favorite place away from home!! You leave nothing out right down to the wine glasses and my husband, who is much like my daughter, said that this might be the best vacation so far. My teen-age son had a wonderful time as well, we loved that the beach was just a quick walk away. We never really heard the train, it did not bother us at all. The waterfall located just outside the arcadia door was lovely to hear in the background in the evening time. The property offered something for everyone and much for relaxing. Thank you again for your hospitality! I have sent you link to everyone I know recommending your condos for vacation rentals! Thank you! The Bose Family

Owner response: We were so genuinely touched to hear from Rosene about her stay in June 2011 .. It really makes us feel good to know that our efforts at providing a home away from home feel to our condos is appreciated. I have actually been told many times that our condo just feels like a home instead of a stark timeshare but often people don't get around to posting the important online review. We have those little extras.. a few toys for kids - a couple of stuffed animals to make your guest bedroom a friendly not so scary place for a child - special futons just for your toddler .. favorite videos to plunk into the machine when you are making dinner and the kids need to be entertained. Ahh - and yes the wine glass. I have plastic stuff for kids or to take to the beach.. sure.. everyone does. But wine doesn't taste right in plastic so our champagne and wine glasses are the real thing. For our future guests - please know that it is our goal to make your vacation affordable and fun. We want you to feel at home - walk in and feel that you are entering a clean - well organized and relaxed place..enjoy your stay and come again and again. Thanks Rosene.. we welcome your return visit. Cindy and Gregg

We just returned from our vacation in Oceanside where we stayed in the 2 bedroom Condo and it was absolutely fabulous. For a family of 5 it was so spacious and nice and less than a 5 minute walk to the beach. The grounds and pool of the condo are spectacular and we spent a lot of time at the pool when we weren't at the beach. We also did all the San Diego Attractions from the Zoo to Sea World and the Wild Animal Park and the condo was 30 mins or less from each, very convienent. We even drove to LA to see a Dodger game and it was only 1 hour and 30 mins. We definitely will be returning next summer. Thanks Cindy! The Baltazar Family

We stayed at North Coast Village from 13 October until 20 October 2007. The condo, grounds and location were great. We stayed as part of a driving holiday of Arizona, Nevada and California, and it was great to be able to relax and walk everywhere when we were in Oceanside. We could drink in Jo's Crabshack at the marina, we could walk into Oceanside for coffee, shopping, library etc, and we could walk to the station when we caught the train to San Diego. The complex is right on the beach so sea front walks were part of our routine every day as well - that's when we weren't relaxing on our balcony looking at the ocean!

Hi Cindy, sorry it has taken so long to get back to you. Thank you! Michael and I received our deposit refund into his bank on May 27th. We had a wonderful 4 days in Oceanside - and the condominium was lovely. It was good to have all the luxuries of a dishwasher etc... we were able to relax around the pool for a few afternoons, although the wind was a bit nippy at times. The hot tub was great too. The holiday went all too quickly, but it was great that everything went well and we did not have any disasters. We enjoyed Cabria and Yosemite Park, which was stunning. We finished off in Las Vegas... but didn't make our fortunes so had to return home. If we have another trip to San Diego, we will contact you again.. and if any of our friends are interested in coming to California we will tell them about your place. Many thanks for arranging our stay with you. Best wishes, Sue and Michael

About the owner: Here I am with our two boys Oct 16, 2010 - at North Coast Village near the koi pond - Dad's taking the picture - and we're excited to be here for my niece's wedding which was held on the seawall with the reception in our party room.
Why the Owner Chose North Coast Village:
We live in Tahoe in a small ski town near Alpine Meadows and Squaw Valley. Our winters are long - and snowy. Yes, we are avid skiers. We love the snow - but we also love the incredibly nice weather of San Diego County where my sister and her family live. So back in 1987 we bought into our first beachfront condo - we needed to rent it to make our payments and so a business was born. When the internet came into being - our business grew and we now have 4 beachfront condos available for rent all year long. As a flight attendant for 38 years now - I feel we have a good handle on what it takes to provide a comfortable vacation place. We have certainly stayed in all kinds all over the world. As parents of small children - we know what families need to feel right at home (booster seats, potty rings, some toys, perfect sized futons for toddlers, portable cribs and umbrella strollers for those quick trips to the pool- and we know what everyone wants with regard to their money: good value. Since we are much older parents than most - we understand that to make it we need year round revenue. Our winter season brings seniors from cold weather places - and we certainly can relate to that. We offer senior pricing - special multi month tiered rates and reliable quality year after year for our retired winter guests
The Unique Benefits at this Condo:
We are currently in love with Legoland because our kids are ages 3 and 5 . It is only 5 minutes away and we can spend a few hours there every day without feeling like we ran a marathon or depleted our college fund. We also love the Wild Animal Park - a part of the San Diego Zoo which is just 15 minutes away - and perfect for our family. We also love our beach playground .. it's just about 15 minutes walk from the condo along the Strand (beach) - and it is enough of a walk added to their play to end a perfect day. We keep sand toys in all of our units - an umbrella stroller and plenty of beach gear. For other guests - don't forget that Disneyland is 45 minutes away - Temecula is the new Southern California Wine Country - we have over 30 golf courses close by - some world famous - others just notably nice. There are things for everyone to do - and you can either drive there - or in many cases take to the rails as our transportation center offers Amtrak, Metrolink, The Coaster, buses and taxis too. We have some seniors who stay with us who come by train - walk everywhere they need or want to go- and return home by train - they don't need a car to enjoy the beach. That's a big plus as you remain active and start into your golden years - because renting a car gets more difficult after age 75. I have friends who are on a budget and come down by air- take the train from the airport - and do the same thing .. so they can avoid the extra expenses of a car. This is really a unique and wonderful place with so much to offer every age group and every budget.
