Stroll down to the seawall at sunset with your bottle of wine or champagne- a couple of plastic glasses - and your binoculars. If it is winter - you will likely get a good view of some whales passing by enroute to their winter homes in Mexico - If it is summer you will be dazzled by the array of boogie borders and surfers dotting the surfline in our world famous short board beach. Any time of year you will be calmed by the pounding of the surf at the base of our seawall and the fantastic almost spiritual sunsets we enjoy nearly every day.
If you are with your kids - perhaps it is the end of a special day at one of the area amusement parks and you're all ready for a hot tub or swim in our heated pools. If this is an adult vacation .. perhaps you can end your day with a workout in our gym and a few minutes in our saunas - or try your hand at our putting green, or in the ping pong centers. You can bbq outside all year long at the professional bbq center next to the main pool.
In todays world most everyone travels with their tablet, phablet, Iphone, Android, Kindle or other hand held device that streams content. To facilitate the way we all travel these days we have just switched (Aug 2015) to ATT Uverse - with 18mbps speeds which are triple the PRO DSL speeds I was formerly getting. With this improvement we dropped our outdated landline. We pay more for this service but it is highly dependable - dedicated to our condo only - and you don't share the airwaves so download time is reliable. Each of you can utilize our WiFi to access your individual device content in the comfort of your own bedroom, the living room together or on the patio areas. If you don't travel with your own hotspot - you can access wifi at the pool or beach from the ECCO system for a daily rate just like you would at a hotel. That is a separate service avail to all guests in NCV - and you can link up to it rather easily by looking for the ECCO - SSID on your device - and follow the prompts. Speeds vary - according to amount of traffic.
We have titled our 2 bdrm cottage style condo the Secret Garden bungalow because our location within the complex is in an amazing little jungle of tropical trees and foliage - not unlike what you see in Hawaii Our deck literally overhangs a waterfall and With huge tropical trees and plenty of shade from summer sun. Since CA is in a drought our waterfall may not be operating year round. However the trees and foliage are healthy and dense. Look at our balcony pictures. Our unit is not an ocean view - it is on the East boundary of our complex. We are closer to the railroad tracks than the waterfront units - and you will get more train rumble here, but generally no tooting as our complex is not adjacent to any rr crossing. We have priced our bungalow similar to what a 1 bdrm unit rents for - but you get so much more for your money!
We are an upstairs end unit with no one above us and we have no other condo on 3 sides. That means extra windows - including skylights - and very little 'neighbor' noise to bother you day or night. Our garden location is private and quiet (except for train rumble) - the outside balcony is completely enclosed by thick green foliage and full grown banana leaf trees - a cool respite after a hot summer day. Our pricing reflects our location within the complex - not the quality of our condo.
In our budget bungalow - everyone will have space to stretch out and find some privacy. There is 1050 sq feet of living space all on one floor with 2 full bedrooms and 2 full baths on one side and a full kitchen, dining, living room -plus an outside balcony deck with a custom dining counter on the other side. A doorway shuts off the bedroom side which gives even more privacy and peace if someone needs a nap! We have a large walk in kitchen with a small table for your toddlers or preschoolers. We also have a dining room table and bar counter too.
Our Master Bedroom has a Cal King bed - mission style furniture - a portable crib - a convertible chair bed - and wall mounted CRT TV with vcr - The master bedroom has a private bathroom with sink, shower and toilet and a couple of closets. This room has a portable AC unit set up between May and October - available by special permit from the HOA. It lets you close the new double pane high efficiency windows - and cool off your primary sleeping area quickly. Our 2nd bedroom has a new Spring Air queen bed - wicker dresser -large closet stocked with baby equipment like booster seats and umbrella stroller - a wall mounted CRT TV with VCR. Our 2nd bathroom is just outside in the common hallway between the two bedrooms it has a full tub, shower sink and toilet.
Our Living room area has all new furniture 2013 - plus new carpeting - We have warm colors in Cinnamon and Navy blue - with cool grey carpet. In the LR we offer a twin sofa sleeper. We keep 2 large tri fold futon mats and one small toddler sized futon stacked in the corner of our living room to provide flexible sleeping options.
Each bedroom has a standard CRT style wall mounted TV with attached vcr to go along with the video library in the condo. Our video library has over 50 titles in both vcr and DVD format. The living room video player is a combo dvd/vcr. As we update our units - or when equipment fails we upgrade to the newest formats available. Flat screens - BlueRay or HD are not in this unit- but when individual electronic pieces fail and need to be replaced we replace with current technology.
One of the best aspects of renting a condo is being able to cook your meals rather than dining out. Sure it's nice to have a couple of meals out - especially if you have a very busy day. We can recommend budget minded restaurants close by the condo even within walking distance- or close to some of the main local attractions to help you stay within your vacation budget.
Our kitchen is fully equipped. We have a full size range, oven, dishwasher, refrigerator, microwave, toaster oven, george foreman grill, blender, tea kettle, tea pot, coffee maker and all the dishes, cups and glasses and enough support items to cook a full thanksgiving dinner (if you want to).
They say we have the best weather in the entire world in San Diego County .. not too dry - not too wet, not too cold, and a mild range of temperatures that bring world travelers to our area all year long. It's so easy to get here too. We have 5 major airports all within a 2 hour drive including San Diego International (SAN), Santa Ana John Wayne (SNA) Ontario International (ONT) Palomar Airport (8 miles away) BUR 1:45 away and LAX 1:45 away. You are bound to find a flight and a fare that matches your needs. Almost all of the airports - connect in some way to the rail way stations although the further away the more tedious a transfer might become. The easiest routes are SNA and SAN - both offer transfers to the Amtrak and Metrolink stations.
When you are considering your travel needs .. and costs and the chaos that generally comes with traveling with kids ..or the chaos of traveling in our emotionally mixed up world today ... you are going to be very pleasantly surprised at the ultimate cost of your vacation in our condo. Rates are subject to change until reservation is confirmed by owner. A discounted rate for Senior WINTER guests apply to rentals of 90 nights or longer and for a max of 2 full time guests. There is NO tax on rentals of 30 nights or longer. There are NO refunds for cancelled reservations. Maximum of 6 persons, no smoking or pets allowed. For our WINTER Seniors more than 2 guests will be charged a per night fee, as our Winter rate is based on 2 persons. Damage protection insurance is not refunded, but $200.00 incidental damage deposit is refundable within 14 days of departure if there are no fines or cable fees. Winter Guests must pay by Electronic Check to obtain our lowest winter rates.
Cancelled bookings will not receive a refund.

Oceanside - a historic beach town popular all over the world for it's short board surfing competitions - and life guard training events. Boogie boarding is also very popular here. We host a couple of Triathalons per year - and Volleyball competitions. There is truly something for everyone. Our beach is protected by a jetty on one side and the longest municipal pier on the West Coast on the other side. We have a great marina - just steps away - and so much to do within a 45 minute drive. We are far enough away from San Diego to avoid the crowds - yet central enough to enjoy all of the major attractions. Legoland - is just 5 miles away - Safari Land - 15 minutes - The San Diego Zoo is 35 and Disneyland - Knotts Berry Farm just 45 minutes away. Don't forget Universal Studios a bit further up the I-5. We are walking distance to a large transit district - you can take buses or trains to anywhere in Southern California. Use UBER if you want a ride to the train station. World class health care abounds - and an active Seniors Community too.

About the owner: Here I am with our two boys Oct 16, 2010 - at North Coast Village near the koi pond - Dad's taking the picture - and we're excited to be here for my niece's wedding which was held on the seawall with the reception in our party room.
Why the Owner Chose North Coast Village:
We live in Tahoe in a small ski town near Alpine Meadows and Squaw Valley. Our winters are long - and snowy. Yes, we are avid skiers. We love the snow - but we also love the incredibly nice weather of San Diego County where my sister and her family live. So back in 1987 we bought into our first beachfront condo - we needed to rent it to make our payments and so a business was born. When the internet came into being - our business grew and we now have a total of 5 beachfront condos available for rent all year long. As a flight attendant for 38 years now - I feel we have a good handle on what it takes to provide a comfortable vacation place. We have certainly stayed in all kinds all over the world. As parents of small children - we know what families need to feel right at home (booster seats, potty rings, some toys, perfect sized futons for toddlers, portable cribs and umbrella strollers for those quick trips to the pool- and we know what everyone wants with regard to their money: good value. Since we are much older parents than most - we understand that to make it we need year round revenue. Our winter season brings seniors from cold weather places - and we certainly can relate to that. We offer senior pricing - special multi month tiered rates and reliable quality year after year for our retired winter guests
The Unique Benefits at this Condo:
We are currently in love with LEGOLAND - and our kids haven't outgrown it at all at ages 7 and 10 . It is only 5 minutes away and we can spend a few hours there every day without feeling like we ran a marathon or depleted our college fund. Since they added a waterpark and aquarium park - we now have 2 more reasons to head to LEGOLAND and we continue to buy our annual Merlin Passes every April (best prices of the year). We also love the Wild Animal Park - a part of the San Diego Zoo which is just 15 minutes away - and perfect for our family. We also spend time at the beach playground .. it's just about 15 minutes walk from the condo along the Strand (beach) - and it is enough of a walk added to their play to end a perfect day. We keep sand toys in all of our units - an umbrella stroller and plenty of beach gear. For other guests - don't forget that Disneyland is 45 minutes away - Temecula is the new Southern California Wine Country - we have over 30 golf courses close by - some world famous - others just notably nice. There are things for everyone to do - and you can either drive there - or in many cases take to the rails as our transportation center offers Amtrak, Metrolink, The Coaster, buses and taxis too. We have some seniors who stay with us who come by train - walk everywhere they need or want to go- and return home by train - they don't need a car to enjoy the beach. You can order grocery delivery .. so if you are not driving - it's not the end of the world. That's a big plus as you remain active and start into your golden years - because renting a car gets more difficult after age 75. I have friends who are on a budget and come down by air- take the train from the airport - and do the same thing .. so they can avoid the extra expenses of a car. This is really a unique and wonderful place with so much to offer every age group and every budget.
