Lovely location and charming house
We returned home to Toronto yesterday after two wonderful weeks in France. We really loved la Petite Bergide, and also La Baume. It was a lovely location, and we made many day trips to all the small towns nearby. The kids loved the pool and the stairs to the second floor bedroom. Nico was very helpful. The first night we arrived so late that he gave us some milk and fruit from his own home to tide us over. The house is so charming, and the gardens with all the lavender make everything smell so fresh and wonderful. I hope that we can return someday soon The advertisement did not disappoint. Thank you very much for all your help and I hope you also have a lovely summer

Delightful family vacation in Provence
Delightful family vacation in Provence
Our family of four had a lovely retreat in this delightful home. The old house is charming and comfy; a great example of a Provencal country home. The grounds are truly stunning, lined by rows of tall trees and filled with lush, colorful plants. The effect is of a secluded sanctuary . We spent a good deal of time soaking in the birdsong, sun and refreshing breezes on the patio and often lost our ambition for touring. Our boys loved swimming in the pool, which was clean and well-maintained with many comfortable lounge chairs. The situation of the house was excellent as a base for exploring the many nearby villages with their own charms and sites-medieval and ancient. We found the owner's advice on markets and restaurants very helpful. For dinner, we would additionally recommend La Troubador in Visan, which is a short drive or bicycle ride away. If you are up for an outdoor adventure, walk upstream in the valley of Toulauranc to find beautiful canyons and refreshing waters. This is a very special place and you will walk away with lasting memories of your time here.

Beautiful house and great location
We rented out La Petite Bergide for our honeymoon in September '10. The house is beautiful inside and out, brimming with elegance and traditional French charm. With a private pool and hammock in the garden, one of our favourite things to do was to relax in the afternoon sun with a good book and some local wine. The house is in a great location on the cusp of La Baume de Transit; a traditional village where the locals speak very little English, which gave us a chance to put our broken-French into practise! There's plenty to see and do in the surrounding area; visiting markets, vineyards, great restaurants and of course the historic, Avignon.

Peaceful, secluded setting amongst lavender fields
We love La Petite Bergide! It has a peaceful and secluded setting amongst the lavender fields and vineyards, with distant mountain views. The beautiful house is a delight and the grounds, orchard gardens and pool area are completely private. We spent our days lounging around the pool and exploring nearby towns, their busy markets and fairy-tale castles, usually stopping for a glass or two of pastis at the village bar before a gentle stroll back home. We've spent two holidays there and we long to return.
