My Fiancé is a law enforcement officer in Citrus County where we were renting the home that we had lived in for the past few years. A few months ago we decided to move and begin our journey to look for something more permanent before we get married and begin our family. We were in need of a place to stay for only a few months so that we could find what we were looking for, however I was fearful of signing into a full year rental agreement. After looking at a few places I found this cottage through an internet search and I felt that even from looking at the pictures it would be perfect for us. I contacted the owners and after explaining our situation they were happy to help us out by allowing us to rent on a monthly basis. This home is primarily rented as a vacation home but worked out perfectly for us. We have now moved out and have a home of our own but we could not have asked for a better place to call home, even if only for a short time. The owners are so sweet and we truly enjoyed having them as neighbors. The property and cottage are absolutely beautiful, we loved living there and truly enjoyed the wonderful view from the porch. This is such a peaceful country location it is so quiet at night and being able to see all the stars at night is great. We both grew up in a rural community much like this one and it was so nice to feel so at home. There are also stores and restaurants with in close driving range, and lots of great outdoor activities to enjoy. Citrus county is a great place to come and enjoy the simple life of Florida, and as a true Floridian I can tell you that floral city is one of the prettiest spots you will find.

We were very pleased with the cabin, cute, cozy and loved the wrap around porch with rockers. My husband and I would sit outside in the morning and have our coffee and just relax. Since we live in a small town in Canada, Floral City was perfect - not busy at all. The library in Floral City was very helpful - gave us lots of information and for a very small fee, we were able to join the library and keep in touch with our family by e-mail. Since we love to bike ride, we were pleased that all we had to do was travel approximately 3 miles into Floral City and be in the center of a beautiful paved biking trail called the Withlacoochee Trail. On this trail, you can visit the State Cooper Park, bike into Inverness, walk a board walk over their lake and see alligators. There is also a nice country store near the path, where we would stop for ice cream. When you are in Floral City, there is a Bike Shop right next to the trail and we were able to pick up a map of the area that we used all the time. It hi-lited the areas that are very popular on the nature coast. We really enjoyed Ellie Schiller Homosassa Springs Wildlife State Park. We met alot of people on the bike path, in town, over at Crystal River and everybody was so friendly and helpful. I don't think you would get this type of treatment, if you went to a larger community. Right beside the library, there is a Community House and they play cards there every 3rd Friday of the month and we were able to join them and have a game of Hand & Foot. It was really fun. There is a low cost for this but it is to help with the rental of the hall. Small price to pay for an evening out. If you love Flea Markets then you must visit the one In Webster but make sure you go to the one across from Dollar General in Webster. It is really big and you can not go thru it in one day. I did look into Condos but we are not condo people, the cabin was exactly what we wanted. To be able to sit on the porch, walk the property and watch the Sandhill Cranes with their babies. I really recommend this area, if you want to lay back and enjoy. Oh by the way, the owners are really nice too.

I have stayed in this cottage many times. It is a wonderful place. Very quiet and very charming. Lots of wildlife right outside your door. Mostly enjoyed the mornings there. Drinking coffee on the porch just overlooking the the land. It is a must for those who want some time away from the crazy city life. You must see this place...

We were very pleased with the cabin; clean & nicley furnished , the property; good directions made it easy to find & a breathtaking view of the country side, and the surrounding area; good restaurants and lots of nature trails, historical land marks. The owners went above and beyond expectations to make our stay a wonderful experience. A slice of heaven for anyone who likes to be off the beaten path.

We moved here from Miami in 1997 to get away from the fast paced way of life and crime. Come experience why we chose Floral City. You will love it.
