"Treetops" Cabin is tops in my book!

Guest: Cheryl (Atlanta)
Date of Stay: 02/04/12 Review Submitted: 02/07/12

Our group from the Georgia Canoe Association really enjoyed this cozy cabin. It's located very close to the Chattooga and other outdoor activities. It was great coming back to a real wood burning stove after a long days paddle. Cost is very reasonable and the owner was extremely helpful and attentive. We'll definitely keep them in mind for our next trip.

Owner response:Great having your crew stay at Treetops. Always enjoy catering to other nature lovers. We look forward to your return.

'Had fun at Treetops

My husband, neice and newphews recently stayed at the Treetops and found the cabin comfortable, well appointed and located near many local attractions. Our dogs, Penny and Cotton, also enjoyed the area and were especially happy to see dog bowls included in the appointments.

Owner response:So glad you and your family enjoyed yourselves. We welcome you back anytime.

All the Comforts of Home plus views to die for and fun hikes

What a cozy delightful stay we had at TREETOPS. Homey, gramma's house decor, Comfortable beds. The wood burning stove was amazing. I was worried because the forecast told us the weekend was going to be COLD. I wrote the owner and he assured me that there was a back up heating system. We never used it! The stove was centrally located and had a blower system. The whole place was toasty and the wood fire smelled so great! My friend and I both love hikes, and there were well marked, fun trails at different difficulty levels within walking distance and even more a short drive away. Also, there is a WONDERFUL grocery store with everything from goat cheese to a great selection of fresh herbs to an olive bar just a few minutes away down the mountai----and at TREETOPS the kitchen was so well stocked and organized that I was able to indulge my love of cooking. Pretty much a perfect weekend!

Owner response:Thank you Joshilyn. So glad you enjoyed yourself up there. We welcome you back anytime. Another "hidden gem" up there for fresh fruits and vegetables is the Osage Farm where you can get "straight from the dirt" produce from March until the end of October. It's located just north of Mountain City on the way to Dillard. Check it out when you come back!

"TREETOPS" weekend was "TOPS"!!!

Guest: Yvonne & Lyall (Snellville, Georgia)
Date of Stay: 10/28/11 Review Submitted: 10/31/11

Just returned from a lovely autumn weekend stay at "Treetops". As frequent VRBO renters, we were totally impressed with everything about the stay..........the location, the scenery, and especially the coziness of the house. We had everything and more than what we needed for our stay. The nights were chilly, so the abundance of firewood and the blower on the woodstove made our stay comfy and warm. This house has EVERYTHING necessary for a home away from home experience. I knew that I had chosen a special place when I saw the doggie food and water bowls. As 'treetops' is only a very short drive from Clayton, we were able to do some antique shopping and also visited a local studio that houses 35 local artists. We will definitely stay there again, as this is our favorite VRBO thus far.

Owner response:Thanks so much Yvonne. We look forward to having you back.

"TREETOPS"...definitely! Good accommodations, great price!

Guest: Jolie (Panama City, FL)
Date of Stay: 09/30/11 Review Submitted: 10/08/11

Nice cabin with quaint mountain decor! The beds were comfortable along with the great room furnishings. My sister especially loved the glider! There is a slight musty odor which does not linger with you, but that can happen anywhere that is closed up a while. Great Wifi access...we were able to keep up with a college football game on the computer while we watched DVDs brought from home on the TV. The DVD player probably needs to be cleaned as it froze up a lot and I know the DVDs were not scratched. The location is rather remote and maybe it should be described as such on the VRBO site, especially for those not familiar with Black Rock Mountain. The driveway is very steep with a 90 degree turn into the covered parking at the top. I would not want to leave the covered parking/driveway without someone outside guiding me, although it might be easier in a smaller car rather than in a minivan! The outside steps are a bit steep, especially for someone with bad knees, but the ones inside are very easy to traverse. Jon was great and took several calls from me before we rented as well as during our stay. He recommended several eating places in Clayton...we tried three of them...Clayton Cafe', Zeppelin's, and Grapes and Beans. The best, by far, was Grapes and Beans! We were too early for the fall leaves, which would have been an added bonus for the dates we wanted! Thanks so much, Jon, for a great weekend!

Owner response:Thank Jolie. It was a pleasure to have you in our home. We seal the house after each rental so the slight musty odor is common for a cabin that remains sealed between renters. We are proud of our "remoteness" of the cabin and it should be mentioned that we send out a map that gets all the renters to the front door without issue. The stairs downstairs and upstairs are of the same angle and steepness, and both have stable handrails for climbing. Jolie and family were great guest and we will welcome them back anytime. Thanks again for the review.

Our stay at Treetops

Guest: Lisa (Hartwell, Ga.)
Date of Stay: 05/28/11 Review Submitted: 06/05/11

Thanks so much for the use of your beautiful cabin. We absolutely enjoyed our visit and will be coming back soon. The evenings were peaceful sitting out on the deck grilling. The cabin was so full of everything you needed to have a wonderful weekend. I loved having a washer and dryer so I didn't have to come home and start washing clothes. My only complaint is that I had to come back to reality. Thanks again and we will be coming back. Lisa and Steve.

Owner response:You are welcome! Glad you enjoyed your stay and Treetops will be waiting for you when you are ready to return.

The perfect mountain getaway...

Guest: Hugo (Orlando)
Date of Stay: 05/15/10 Review Submitted: 03/31/11

I would have to have to say Treetops is the perfect mountain getaway. A huge cabin in the woods, far away enough from the hustle and bustle of city life, and yet close enough to go out to dinner. It is nestled in the woods, a couple of miles from the nearby town. It is spaceous! The living room has a huge ceiling, and the rooms are large enough to be comfortable, but small enough to feel cozy. The kitchen is full-sized, so you can get groceries in town, and not have to go out to dinner every night, unless you want to. This is a great place for families, and couples alike. The fireplace is great at night, for lighting and reading a story, or cozying up to that specail someone. My girlfriend and I just sat on the porch and listened to the sound of the leaves rustling in the wind as the sun went down, and went inside to talk by the fire. There is nothing better than being in the woods, and having all the conveniences of home. I took the best hot showers in the morning, The location is perfect, there are plenty of sights to see during the day, and the town provides great restaurants at night. The owners even have a book full of great suggeations, if you go be sure to add your own story to it.

Roberta and I really enjoyed our stay at TreeTops. I think I could really enjoy living in North Georgia. We stopped in Clayton, window shopped, and had dinner at the Clayton Restaurant. This restaurant (established in 1937) had True Southern cooking. I had catfish, turnip greens, black eyed peas and mashed potatoes, with southern style cornbread (salty, not sweet). That dinner reminded me of when I was a little boy in Opp, AL. Our time at your home was a ray of sunshine, and we want to thank you and your family for our stay at TreeTops for a few days. Thank you so much,
