A quick walk to Taos Plaza and with outdoor vendors, live music, great restaurants and cultural events. My personal favorite is a very easy stroll to the Bent Street historical shops (home of Govenor's Bents residence). Enjoy your morning coffee by a fountain, hearing the music of buskers and watching an artist or two with their pleine aire painting. Only a 5 minute walk to Kit Carson park with soccer, a playground, baseball, volleyball, basketball and picnic tables with grills. An easy stroll to the historic Taos Inn (Doc Martin's) with great food and live music nightly. 2 blocks to the best area farmer's market. Take a pleasant evening stroll to the Taos Community Auditorium to view live theatre and independant films and lectures. A very quiet, safe neighborhood nestled in the middle of the historic district: Truly the best of both worlds!.

Johnny and Kate are long residents of Taos. Kate is a musician in a blue grass band and an all-girls Mariachi. By day she is a therapist here in Taos. Johnny is an expert skier and mountain biker and can help you plan your day of hiking or skiing with great tips about the area.

The unit we rented was upstairs. The hot tub was working, although we never used it. The location is good, as you can use back streets to avoid the congested area near the plaza. Also easy drive to TSV, since the unit is on north end of town. Would recommend to a friend and would return if in the area. Only complaint...no door in the bathroom, just a shower curtain.
Recommended for:Romantic getaway, sightseeing, pet owners, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with young children, families with teenagers.

Photo is not of the property we rented. The actual apt is nice despite it being hard to find (entrance in alley). Clean, private, comfortable and walking distance to town. Price is excellent. Hot tub not in full working order, which was a downer. Owner is new to this though so I think the kinks will be worked out over time. I'd recommend to a friend.

My wife and I stayed in this property in september 2010. We could not have been more pleased with the location and quietness of the neighborhood. We had our own private garden and a hot tub right out our bedroom door. Everything is within walking distance including the plaza, about 3 blocks. The owner is an amazing artist with her art work displayed in some of the local galleries. This is a place you must stay especially when you consider the cost of a motel room.
Recommended for:Romantic getaway, tourists without a car, sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+.

We were passing through and called to see if they had any availability. fortunately they did. This was a very quiet apartment close to town. The owners were very accommodating and it was perfect for what we wanted. The only problem was the driveway to the apartment was dirt with some potholes which made it hard to maneuver a motorcycle. The good thing was it was not a long driveway. I would highly recommend this rental.
