We rented this house for the 2011/2012 ski season. My husband and I have 5 kids as well as my parents who still ski with us. This house was perfect. It was just down the street from the mountain which made drop offs and pick ups a breeze and even allowed for eating lunch at home! Paula was really easy to work with and had we not decided to move up to a bigger mountain we would definitely be coming back for more.Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, age 55+, families with teenagers.

I can't think of anything this place DIDN'T have. There was a beautiful fireplace, a huge back and front yard, 2 canoes, 3 bedrooms, 1/2 mile to town, 1/2 mile to Butternut, short drive to lakes and hiking trails, plenty of charm, board games, huge television with cable and a sweet kitchen with dishwasher. It was very reasonably priced, and Paula was very cool about check-in/out times and always accessible. You may do just as well somewhere else, but I can almost guarantee you won't do better. Highly recommended.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 2/2

We spent July and August at Paula's house, and loved it! My wife is in the Boston Symphony Orchestra and was in residence at Tanglewood for the summer. The layout of the house was especially important to us because not only do we have two children and a small dog, but my elderly parents came to stay with us for three weeks. My father has a lot of difficulty walking, but he was able to navigate the first floor comfortably, since it felt like a ranch house, and yet my wife and I had a private and very large suite upstairs. The patio in the backyard feels very private and got a lot of use. We also appreciated the fact that the house has many different areas for sitting, and doors that can be closed when we were practicing our musical instruments! The house was very clean, all the bedrooms are comfortable, and the kitchen and dining room were fully equipped and perfect for our needs. Paula was always available, friendly, and helpful whenever we needed her, and in general we found the location to be very convenient.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 2/2

My husband and I spent a week in this delightful home in October. There was plenty of room and everything we needed for a very pleasant stay. The owner was very gracious and a pleasure to work with. She made sure we were comfortable with the house and let us know that she was just a phone call away if we had any questions. We made several day trips through the mountains to many of the small historical towns in the area, as well as a trip through the nearby Catskills. There is so much to see and do in the area and this was a great location to come back to after a long day of sight seeing. There were plenty of restaurants, grocery stores and shopping just minutes from the house. This home would be perfect for large families or groups because of all the separate living areas and the ample dining spaces. The sunroom is spacious and a very relaxing place to spend time reading or just soaking up the sun. The large screen television in the living room was my husband's favorite toy in the evenings. There was a good selection of books for reading and a quiet area around a warm wood stove to snuggle up with a good book. Overall, the house was clean and well equipped, comfortable and a good value. We were completely satisfied with our stay and would recommend this home for a short or long visit.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

I stayed at this place with a small group from my Church including kids and we had a wonderful time. Paula is a very nice and accommodating person, she went above and beyond to ensure we had a great place and a great time. We were pleasantly surprised at how clean and well stacked the place was, everything was in order. We even had the opportunity to make apple pie from the apple tree in the yard. I recommend this place 100% you will not be disappointed this place is very spacious and clean. God bless you Paula!!!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 2/2

We very much enjoyed our 2 weeks at Paula's house! It's a great value for the size: downstairs has 2 bedrooms, 3 huge living areas, and a very well stocked kitchen, while the upstairs is a huge master bedroom suite. All very comfortable and relaxing. We loved being just outside of Great Barrington, a wonderful village with a perfect balance of upscale and funky; great restaurants, great shopping, hiking and yoga. We will be back!!!Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, pet owners, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.
