We arrived late Friday night and thought it would be hard to find keys, entrance, etc. in the dark, but discovered the cutest thing! The lights were turned on, a flashlight was placed by the door to find the lockbox and the fridge was full of water (which we had forgotten!). It just made us super happy. Amber made the booking process so easy, everything was clean and we had a great time in and out of the cute cabin. The only little suggestion we have is a screen door on the patio door, so it can be left open. Thank you for making our stay so wonderful, everything was so sweet and the attention to detail was amazing - we can't wait to visit again.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

Cabin is well kept and is what you see in other reviews. Our stay was very pleasant and cozy during the weather pattern that had moved through from California. Well stocked with fire wood which made our evenings very romantic and a feel of being away from it all. We would recommend this getaway to our friends and will be looking forward to doing this again in the near future. Thank you for all that was done prior to our stay. To my pleasant surprise the cabin looked way better compared to the pictures. We were looking for a cozy little place, not a big room in big hotel. And I found the perfect cabin for my family. My kids had the best time during our short visit. They had a good night's sleep and we all woke up very early in the morning .. excited. Kids ran around the place collected acorns and ran behind squirrels and neighbor's cat. :) Since the cabin is so close to Julian, we could go for a dose of apple pie in the morning and for apple picking. We decided not to look for any other place but this for our next visit to Julian.Recommended for: Sightseeing, people with disabilities, families with young children.

Very cozy cabin close to Julian but not in Julian which was great. Cabin would have been absolutely perfect as it was clean and well-maintained and exactly what I wanted with a few exceptions: there was no light to read by in the living room so I turned the TV on but the remote did not work (normally I would not watch TV but no light to read by) and the cabin was not as remote as I wanted (the other homes were closer than I anticipated) - on the other hand, the neighborhood was fantastic and the street the cabin is located on is a great quiet street that really makes you feel like you are out in the mountains. I can imagine this cabin would be wonderful in the winter and if you want the security of knowing you have neighbors close by, it would be perfect. The lighting in the living room and the remote can easily be taken care of so all in all, this can be a perfect place to stay and I would definitely come back. And I would (and have already) recommended this cabin to others. In addition to Julian, Lake Cuyamaca is only 9 miles away so there are plenty of activities to take advantage of. This cabin has excellent possibilities with minor fixes.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

We really enjoyed our stay. Our only problem being that my wife had to rush back to LA for a meeting, which made our stay too short! The cabin is located on a dead-end street, which means there was very little to almost no traffic noise. The interior was as advertised, and very charming, with lots of interesting details. I only regret that it was too hot to make use of the large fireplace during our stay. Perhaps we'll return in the fall,so we'll get a chance then. We had our dog with us,and the roads of the surrounding area were perfect for our early morning strolls. We will definitely be coming back.Recommended for: Age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway.

The cabin was very cute, welcoming, and clean. Charming antique-like decor. Great location just outside the heart of Julian. Originally we were going to go camping, but decided on this cabin instead for privacy and convenience. It was very refreshing to have the air-conditioning in the hot summer. We took the bikes and went riding in a nearby trail. Went fishing in nearby Lake Cuyamaca. A memorable experience altogether. I would love to visit again in the snowy winter!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway.

Den Elske Hytte was a perfect cabin for me and my wife as we returned to Julian 12 years later with no kids. It is very quiet, rustic, clean, private, cozy and secured with a outside security camera. It is a great place to getaway for two to have a nice little vacation for 2-7 days. The cabin owner Daniel had taken extra little steps to make your stay pleasurable. We really enjoyed our stay and we would go back again. Thank you Daniel for your hospitality!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway.

We arrived just as the big snowstorm began! The cabin stayed nice and cozy even as the wind howled, piled up the snow, and drifted it over the back porch. We had plenty of firewood and greatly enjoyed our broiled lobster tails by the crackling fire. About 12 inches of snow fell, and the street was plowed early the next morning.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway.

We went to Julian for some much needed tranquility and were pleased to find that at Daniel's Den Elske Hytte. The cabin is charming and I agree with other posts that it is even cuter than the pictures show. We loved the big fireplace. The bed was comfy and the cabin was very clean. Even though it wasn't our place, we felt at home. It wasn't in town which we liked but there were neighbors close enough which made my husband feel more secure. We would definately stay there again if we go to Julian.Recommended for: Romantic getaway.

Best New Years stay for us in many years......not only is the cabin one of most comfortable and thoughtfully furnished places we ever stayed - the host is equally pleasant to do business with. Although we thought 3 days would be enough, our host arranged another evening for us - as we fell into the serenity of the cabin life. Definitely take advantage of the location to access daytime and nighttime walks. Whether you cook or plan to eat some local BBQ....we were in the right place. What a fireplace!!.....this mellow cabin allowed us the time we needed to unwind and share the intimacy of that time. Can't wait til it snows....we're planning to return soon.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, romantic getaway.
