My husband and I took the kids for a weekend in Vancouver. We took the kids to the Planetarium and the Aquarium. The location was close enough for going into town, but it was nice to stay out of downtown. Plus, it was fun to stay in the marina and feel the house floating on the water. Everything was very clean and comfortable and the amenities were all that they said. Becky, who greeted us, was friendly and helpful. We were well taken care of by both the owners and Becky. Thank you, thank you for opening your home to us.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We rented the home on our wedding weekend getting married @ Mosquito Creek Marina Sept 15, 2012. Becky the home greeter was amazing... showed me the ropes... and off she went... the marina staff.. we're on a first name basis :-))) that's how great everything was... There is nothing lacking in the house... everything you need you will come upon... Again just made the whole weekend go of without a hitch and we fell in love the Marina community that we are actually now looking into buying in the marina... Thank you again Mr. and Mrs. Rose DaviesRecommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

This place is a little gem. The lady in charge to welcome you is adorable. The landlord CM very responsive and empathetic even though you can tell she is very busy. The place is clean and incredibly suited and stocked. The kitchen has everything you need and we cook a lot so it is a big thing for us to say. The view is incredible, we had sea-lions playing in the water right outside our window. Check out colorful starfish on the outer walls of the house right under the water! The house is close to a first nation area, that offer something not every turist get to see (don't miss taking a look at their art). It was our first time on a floating home and we loved the experience. If you are considering going to Vancouver do not hesitate in renting this place!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

This unique property is a perfect base from which to explore greater-Vancouver (Vancouver, North Van, West Van and Whistler). The house is marvelous, the location unique and the warm welcome by Becky was unforgettable. The owners have spent a great deal of time to make this property very user-friendly. We stayed six nights and were very sad to leave. Our children (ages 15 and 13) were captivated by the home and the location in the marina. My wife and I truly felt that we were on vacation in this home. The mark of any true vacation property is the desire to return once the weeks have passed and the daily routine of work has resumed. We will definitely be returning in the near future....Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We loved the house! Kitchen was even more than described if that's possible. We didn't lack for a thing and enjoyed eating off of different dishes every evening. It was such a joy to find all the spices and every cooking pot your could need and knives that actually cut something. It was so convenient to use the sea bus to go into downtown Vancouver. We loved the market by the terminal and bought lots of fresh fruits and veggies along with fish. Everyone at the marina was very helpful and nice. Very quiet also unlike a lot of marinas. We will recommend to anyone we find out is traveling to Vancouver!Recommended for: Age 55+, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

This place is worth every penny. The house is perfect..pictures don't do the surroundings justice. The location of this place is perfect ( first trip to Vancouver, so we got lucky there). George--guy that helped us out--was the nicest guy in the world. The amenities of the house are too long to list. We stayed for 8 nights, and hated the fact that we had to come back to triple digit heat. Seeing a seal outside of the bedroom window wasn't included in the price, but something my son can't stop talking about! We will be back, and we will rent this place again.....what a trip!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, tourists without a car, romantic getaway.

Imagine being gently rocked to sleep as you gaze out on a marina with the whole of downtown Vancouver’s incredible skyline as your view. The uniqueness of the Float Home was everything advertised and more. We finished a cruise and stayed another three days in Vancouver. I was very lucky indeed to find the Float Home here on VRBO; I’m in agreement with one of reviewers in wanting to keep the secret to myself. My only compliant is that we didn’t stay longer. Transportation was abundant and easy to get to. A grocery store was close by, and the market by the Seabus had a marvelous set of shops and restaurants. And there is simply using the gourmet kitchen or the sundeck’s BBQ and drinking in the view. I hope to be back soon.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Our group of co-workers rented this home while we attended a conference. This place is the best equipped VRBO home we have rented! The owners have made sure that you have everything you could possibly need to feel at home. The layout is great - upper level for living and lower level for bedrooms provides great views and quiet areas for sleeping. The gourmet kitchen is extremely well equipped and our gourmet meal on the deck under the stars was amazing. We were able to attend our conference and then head back to our "vacation" each night. Don't waste your money on a hotel - it is less expensive and a LOT more fun to experience this wonderful place. Can't wait until the next Vancouver conference. I write this review to attract those individuals who don't mind being at a distance from the convention hotel cluster. There is a bit more travel time and walking involved in getting to various venues, but it is well worth your efforts -- especially if you are combining business and pleasure. We often rent a home in larger cities in order to have it all and avoid the feel of being JUST ANYWHERE and the sense of being boxed in. Thus, we chose the float home with little hesitancy! The float home is as described. It's comforting and scenic. The marina is also quite fun to observe. A unique experience awaits you here! Getting to Vancouver proper is equivalent to about a 6-8 block walk along the water and a 15 minute ride on the Seabus out of Lonsdale Quay. We have had few waits for the Seabus which can be as long as a half hour depending on the day and time -- but, usually it was right there within 5 minutes. In Vancouver, public transportation abounds or you can continue a healthy walk to many locations, even the Convention Center. Since we did not have a car, we spent lots of time using Google Maps to find the best scenario for getting to a restaurant or hotel during the convention. That seems to work well most of the time. Maps at the terminals are also helpful, to some degree. We added a bit of imagination and adventure to get us through in some cases! A grocery store is about 4 blocks away as well as an interesting Market with a variety of take-out foods and gifts. Fun place to meander, right next to the Seabus. Restaurant recommendations: Fishworks here in N Vancouver; Chambar on Beatty street in Vancouver; Teahouse at Stanley Park We don't give restaurant recommendations lightly -- these are all WONDERFUL restaurants! Just to comment further on the float home, the property manager is quite accommodating. He was available for any consultation. As US residents, we preferred to communicate by email rather than cell phone ($) and he was always responsive. The owner is also very communicative and pleasant. All in all, you can't go wrong staying here. So, I add my very positive review to the group of many others. These reviews are often the basis of how I choose homes on VRBO. We've done well in that regard and have come to trust renting in this manner!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

This home is truly unique and beautifully appointed, and we spent a wonderful week drooling over the views of the Downtown skyline and the yacht basin! The owner & Thaedee (the accomodation assistant) were extremely reliable, accomodating and helpful -- hopefully next time they will be able to arrange a personal sighting of the resident seal for us...:) Would recommend this place to anyone.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway.

I highly recommend you consider this Float Home for your Vancouver vacation. The location is superior, due to the proximity of the Seabus in getting you to downtown in 12 short minutes. The home was very quiet with tremendous views of the city. The home appears to be brand new with furniture and fixtures in top notch condition. We appreciated the time the owner's agent spent with us to give us a little orientation on getting around the area and also some great tips on things to see. Will definitely stay here again on the next trip to Vancvouver.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, tourists without a car, pet owners, sightseeing.

What a wonderful home in a great location. Easily accessible to all the best Vancouver has to offer. We walked to the market and cooked on the deck, watched the seals and sunsets. Home was well equipped and what great fun to be on the water. Usually I've stayed near English Bay when coming to Vancouver, but this was a delightful change, in a great area and very peaceful setting. It's almost hard to leave the home to go out sightseeing! Thanks for providing such a lovely home with top of the line amenities. Anyone interested in a vacation rental in Vancouver should reserve this “floating home” right away. As the word spreads, this modern and unusual house will have a very full calendar. Information provided by the website and by the other reviewers is absolutely accurate. Even so one is not prepared for how well equipped and well designed the house is. The top floor is a “great room,” featuring a professional-quality kitchen, comfortable and elegant furniture in the seating area, and a deck overlooking the marina and downtown Vancouver. This is a great place to hang out, plan jaunts, and do some serious cooking. The bedrooms and bathrooms on the ground floor are pristine. Arrangements with the owner and attention by the agent are easy, professional, and friendly. And, it floats. You really do have a sense of place, of being in an unusual spot for the time you are there. For us, it was the perfect spot.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

I can't recommend this wonderful 'float' home enough! My husband and I took our 3 teenage daughters on a tour of British Columbia last August and this was by far the nicest VRBO rental we stayed in. The home was spotless, nicely decorated and equipped with every amenity you can imagine. They even had a milkshake maker! The marina location was fun to come home to each evening, and we loved our 'neighbors'... human, otter and seal. Thaddee, the property manager, went above and beyond the call of duty to make sure that we had everything we needed. I can't imagine a nicer place to stay in Vancouver, and I hope we can visit it again soon.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We had the pleasure of staying in this float home in August 2011, it was everything advertised plus more. The home is very unique and we thoroughly enjoyed the experience. There is nothing missing, every detail is completely covered, from beautiful dishware to the most comfortable and luxurious bedding. The location is fabulous, minutes from great shopping and dining and only a few minutes to the ferry that takes you into downtown Vancouver. The view of downtown Vancouver is amazing, the float home community is peaceful and very charming. Thank you for a great holiday, we will definitely stay again when we are back in Vancouver!!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We came to Vancouver from the U.S. based on what we saw on TV during the Olympics (and Supernatural). Needing a place to stay we took a chance and Googled condos. Boy, did we hit the jackpot! For less than what a hotel costs for two rooms the 4 of us spent a wonderful week in a top notch home with an unsurpassed view and easy access to the great public transportation system. We were very surprised how well appointed the whole house was. Practically everything you need in the kitchen, bath, and laundry is provided. Despite how great the pictures are-they can't do justice to how great the house and the location are. The nights enjoying the cool weather on the deck are very relaxing. The marina is very quiet-no city noise. We were paid a morning and evening visit by a harbor seal to say hello. We flew in and got everywhere quite easily by public transport which is located 5 minutes through the park from the home. The property manager is quite personable and wanted to make sure we enjoyed our time in Vancouver. If you are coming to Vancouver do not short change yourself-this home is a must stay.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We've used VRBO to vacation in Hawaii, Barcelona, Michigan, and Florida, and this might be the best of them all. Since the kitchen was so well equipped with staples (flour, pasta, rice, condiments), we only had to buy food we'd consume. That was the best touch! The beds were comfortable, all the electronics worked, we lacked for no basic item. In addition, we loved the rocking of the home on the wake of boats. It was a bonus to be able to watch cruise ships leave the Vancouver terminal across the bay. Now, if only we had had a few more sunny days...Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We stayed on this floating houseboat for one week and wished we could have stayed longer. The description of the houseboat was very accurate and the home is in tip-top shape. The owners were very thoughtful in their design of the home and had a clear eye to quality as well (we enjoy cooking so do it a great deal but there is little question that their kitchen was better equipped than ours!!). The beds were extremely comfortable as well and all the linens, towels, etc were of high quality - as I mentioned - the owners spared little expense setting the houseboat up. The view was lovely of the marina with Vancouver across the bay and it was very peaceful and quiet. The houseboat was thoughtfully stocked with many routine items (condiments, toiletries, etc) that made it so one didn't need to run out to pick up little things constantly. There was a nice LCD TV and stereo system if one wanted to relax and watch movies (Netflix provided) or listen to music. The location is fabulous - simple walking distance to a big park, a large market area, many nice restaurants and downtown North Vancouver, or to the seabus into Vancouver. The caretaker of the boat was friendly and helpful. He touched base with us on several occaisions to make sure things were going smoothly and offer suggestions of activities that, based on our conversations, he felt we would not be aware of but represented particularly interesting things to do in the Vancouver area (this was very much appreciated - only locals would have those insights). Incidentally, one does not need to rent a car to get around in Vancouver - the seabus/bus/train system is very good and efficient. We would love to come back and stay again, for longer if possible.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, romantic getaway.
Owner response: This floating home, all 1200 square feet over two stories, is well planned out and utilizes all the space wisely to make our guests' stays relaxing and comfortable. Located only steps away from the centre of the action but still in a very quiet and serene surroundings.

Shhhh, I would rather keep this secret to myself but, in good conscience, I feel must share it with you. We rented this property for a week during our holiday to the Pacific Northwest for our family of four. We were not disappointed as we loved everything about this beautiful, spacious, and extremely well stocked home. By far it exceeded our expectations. The house was brand new and boasts some spectacular views from it's North Vancouver harbor location. There is no need to choose between a view of the mountains or the Vancouver skyline here you have the best of both worlds. The location is fantastic, just a short walk to restaurants... We loved FishWorks, with it's outstanding service and memorable food. Public transport located at Lonsdale Quay is about a 10 minute walk along the seawall from the house. There you are able to take a short Seabus ride to the Downtown Vancouver - Historic Gastown area. When visiting Gastown be sure to stop by the restaurant Salt located in Blood Alley. Salt Tasting Room is a must if you enjoy small bites with great wine pairing...be sure to ask for Tarla. Our last Foodie recommendation is Vij's an Indian restaurant located in the downtown area it has Amazing food... well worth the wait. Thaddee' the Float Home's property manager is very personable, making you feel like an old friend welcoming you to Vancouver. We plan on returning in the future and will definitely be staying here again. Catherine, thank you for sharing your home with us... it was our home away from home and it was wonderful.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, tourists without a car, sightseeing.

Our family of four (two teenagers) love to explore. We're always on the lookout for a unique but comfortable place to stay... this fit the bill perfectly! The location was perfect - convenient to everything "urban" but also peacefully removed from everything "urban." The photos actually don't do the property justice....it's even better "in person" with thoughtful attention to detail sometimes missing in even highly-rated rentals. Thaddee was most helpful in getting us oriented to the "lay of the land," including some great restaurant recommendations. The best meals however were prepared from fresh ingredients from the easily accessible (5 minute scenic walk) Lonsdale Quay Market right there in the beautifully designed gourmet kitchen! If you're visiting Vancouver, don't miss this one!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Our guests save so much by preparing a number of meals in the well stocked kitchen rather than eating in restaurants three times a day. We provide the spices, rices, grains, baking items, canned tomatoes, dried pastas, etc to keep the guests' costs down.

We had an excellent stay at this very unique location. We loved the novelty of being in a floating house in the water, and everything inside enhances that experience even more. It is beautifully decorated and furnished in such a way that you feel your every need has been considered. The location was great for all that we wanted to do in Vancouver. We would go back in a heartbeat and recommend this house to anyone.Owner response: Even though the location of the float home is in a nature-filled area (seals, otters, great blue herons, etc. outside the door) it is steps away from shopping, public transit, bars, nightlife, entertainment, banks, grocery stores, etc. Great for adult get-away vacations, family vacations, business people who would like an alternative to a hotel, conventioneers, vacationers taking a cruise that begins or ends in Vancouver harbour, local Vancouverites wanting a getaway for a few days.

I visited this home with my parents from SA. This place is PERFECT! Not only is it absolutely gorgeous, there is free parking and the sea bus to Downtown vancouver is 5 minutes walk away. The house is completely stocked with everything you could imagine and more. there are more gadgets here than at my own home. The suspension bridge is close by and the view cannot be beaten. I would recommend this place to EVERYONE!Recommended for: Age 55+, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: This guest is absolutely right that everything is so close to the float home. The suspension bridge can be reached in under 10 minutes. The walk to the sea bus is terrific. It is along the sea wall and is considered a tourist attraction with many people strolling this short walkway to enjoy the gorgeous skyline views of Vancouver. And, our float home guests are privy to this view all the time! It is directly out the windows of the float home and the deck faces this view.

We stayed at this property June 10-13, 2011. First, the location is amazing. About a five-minute walk to catch the Seabus to downtown Vancouver - it was a snap. The Seabus station is also next to the Quay market, where we shopped for fresh groceries our last night and grilled at the float house. The house is immaculate and has EVERYTHING you'd need. Also, the furnishings and decor are very new and modern. I LOVE the cupboards and bathroom floors. The kitchen was amazing as well. Again, the location is fantastic. Away from the craziness of downtown (we were there for the Stanley Cup Finals and a UFC fight), but so quick to get there. It's also close to Stanely Park and the Vancouver Aquarium, and a straight shot to the Capilano Bridge very nearby. Staying in the harbor was lovely, waking up to downtown views each morning. We definitely plan on returning to fabulous Vancouver and will be staying in this house again. I can't say enough about how wonderful it was!!!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: The float home really is close to everything. Our guests have the benefit of being in the city, but, in the immediate vicinity of the marina they are surrounded by nature including seals, otters, great blue herons - with an amazing view of the Vancouver skyline.

We rented this property a couple of weeks ago based on the pictures we had seen online. We were hopeful that the property would live up to the pictures and we were happily surprised to find that property exceeded our expectations. The owner had obviously spent much time considering the needs of the traveller - stocked spices, basic food staples, dvd's, cd's, games etc. Everything was perfect for us. It felt like we were taking care of the house for friends while they were away on vacation - it was that homey. Rent this one - you won't regret it.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: We know what it is like to rent a home and feel like you are intruding because it has so many personal items of the owners. We have removed all personal photos and personal belongings, and all closets, drawers and cupboards are empty for our guests' use except for items our guests would want to use. We also offer everything that a typical home would have so there would be few things our guests would have to bring or buy. Things like bandages, shampoo, laundry soap, dry goods, spices, teas (huge selection), bathroom tissue, etc. All complimentary. Enjoy!

I rented this float home when my parents visited Vancouver because I wanted to give them an experience unlike anything they have lived before. I am glad to say that we weren't disappointed...we loved everything about it! As we came down to the peir it was very exciting to think we were actually going to sleep on the water. The house was brand new and beautifully appointed with the latest appliances, quartz counter-tops, stone floors in the bathrooms, and an exposed-beam cathedral ceiling. The views of the mountains, and especially, of the Vancouver skyline, were worth a million dollars! The location is fantastic- just a short walk to movie theatres, restaurants, grocery stores and the unique Lonsdale Quay market. We loved Lonsdale Quay, with it's specialty food vendors, art galleries, and interesting stores. The fact that we could take a short Seabus ride from there, to get to historic Gastown, Canada Place, the cruise ship docks, and the hub for all the subway lines, in only 10 minutes and for a cost of about $3, was a big bonus. We will definitely stay there again!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, pet owners, sightseeing.
Owner response: A few people have asked about the possibility of motion sickness on a float home. We are pleased to say that all of our guests loved their experience on the water and that absolutely no one has experienced any uncomfortableness. One woman in particular, a senior in her seventies, was especially concerned, because she has never been able to stay on a boat for more than a few minutes without feeling the beginnings of motion sickness. She actually loved the experience so much that she is considering investing in a float home herself.
