We offer the "Eagle's Nest" more value in this extraordinary 12,000 square foot, 8 bedroom & 8 full baths, 14 King beds with 3 half baths vacation rental home located at the entrance of the Galena Territory in Northwest Illinois. There are many golf courses within & just outside the G.T.A. The “Eagle’s Nest” is the largest private rental vacation rental home in the area. It is handicap accessible on the main and lower levels and situated on 12 pristine wooded acres.
The Eagle’s Nest will surpass even the most sophisticated tastes; it was designed for weddings, corporate events and meetings, golf, ski, groups, family reunions, multi family outings, wedding receptions and scrapbooking.
As you enter the main level great room, you immediately feel the spaciousness and luxury. The floor to ceiling windows provides natural lighting and panoramic views of the beauty in the surrounding woods. The centerpiece of the great room is the indigenous Dubuque limestone wood burning fireplace. It is flanked by warmth of fine leather furniture, natural hickory hardwood floors with large distinctive area rugs.
To the left is an intimate library nook. To the right are the twin dining tables seating for 16. The gourmet kitchen is fully equipped with a full open view. The granite countertops seating 12 and natural hickory cabinetry with stainless appliances is perfect for buffet style breakfast dinning.
Step out onto the main level furnished wood deck seating 20 with views and sounds of nature. Have a cookout on the gas grill or have a chef cook for you.
Each of the Eagle’s Nest (8) bedroom suites are themed Galena décor, with two bedrooms off the kitchen that are handicap accessible with one king bed in each bedroom suite. The other (6) bedroom suites have two king beds in each room. All (8) bedrooms have a luxurious jetted tub, two sinks, and walk-in custom designed tiled showers and nine foot ceilings. Two of the bedrooms have their own balcony with superb views.
There is plenty of room in this 4,000 sq. ft. lower level able to seat 120 when set up for reception style dinning. When set up for leisure, there is plenty of entertainment with the 55” TV, pool table, poker table, air hockey, foosball, and ping-pong gaming tables with 27’ of wet bar. The southwest wall is wide open to the patio with (6) double sliding glass doors allowing the perfect view to the 12 acres of wooded scenery. This will welcome guests onto the seventy foot furnished patio seating 20 for alfresco dining with granite fire pit. In the center of the patio stands the towering 80’ stone fireplace.
You can also choose to walk on the path through the twelve pristine acres of woods or play volleyball on the sand court. At the end of your day enjoy the eight-person hot tub under cover in the gazebo located just off the patio.

I Think We Were The First Wedding After This House Was Built!

We got married in the house on 3/15/2008, just after the house was finished. We got married at 9 pm in front of the fireplace on the main floor in complete candlelight while our guests watched from the balcony above. My guests said it was one of the most beautiful weddings they had ever attended. We hosted a dinner for our wedding party and their families in the basement bar area which was catered by a local caterer (and fabulous) and after the wedding we had a chocolate reception catered by Eagle Ridge Resort accompanied by chocolate cocktails on the main floor. It was unforgettable. Afterwards, our families stayed in their own rooms in the house while we had accomodations offsite. It was an amazing wedding ... an amazing day .... an amazing house!

The house is simply spectacular for mutli-family gatherings. While the weather did not cooperate for snow sports, the house provided a picture-perfect winter retreat away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The historical town of Galena is just up the road and DuBuque is just about 25 miles away (very cool National River Museum). For those who like to gamble, there's even a casino on the Mississippi. The house construction and decor is first rate (they even provided Christmas decor). All of the families in our party LOVED their stay. Thanks for a wonderful getaway!

My group and I had an amazing time at the Eagle's Nest this past weekend. It is an ideal home for bringing a large group together for a luxury skiing trip. The home is in pristine condition with every attribute your heart could desire. We definitely plan on coming back!

Bill, Words cannot express how beautiful the Eagle's Nest is. Our family vacation was fabulous and only made more special by your home. Many memories were made and laughs shared during our stay. The game room saw its share of action well into the early hours of each morning, much to the glee of our youngest children! Our entire extended family loved the vacation and would love to return to the area and to the Eagle's Nest. Thank you for your hospitality and graciousness in answering all of our questions. P.S. The only suggestion we have is the addition of a ping pong table. We are an EXTREMELY competitive family! :)

This was our 5th year of celebrating our family christmas in this wonderful house. We have so many great memories from each year celebrated here. With a large family the space is great to accommodate all both young and old. The decorations always make it feel like we are home for the holidays!

From the day I first spoke with Bill, I was certain that this was where we should host our intimate family wedding. Over the next few months Bill and his wife helped me to create a warm, inviting, fun, unique wedding experience...my bridal party had a fantastic time in this huge space all by ourselves on Thursday night, then we were joined by our family of 50 guests for a beautiful ceremony on the main floor Great Room, afterward we partied down on the the lower level, which was perfect for a reception with it's open floor plan and built in bar! Over the weekend, we had our immediate family and wedding party stay in the house; everyone loved their rooms and felt like they were in a 4 star hotel but with the comfort and love of family! We woke up everyday to coffee and a huge kitchen to cook in and gather around. During the day we grilled on the expansive decks, took in the beautiful views, went on walks, played games with each other and enjoyed the game tables downstairs, plugged up a karaoke machine to the GIANT screen t.v. downstairs! The only disappointing thing was that this house was so beautiful and inviting that no one wanted to leave! Few of us got away long enough to visit downtown Galena, but if you had the time, there is also no end to all of the charming sites in that picturesque town. The wedding was truly splendid...I would have married my husband anywhere and my family would have had a blast anywhere, but I truly believe this house added a magical, extra special element to our time together. I would recommend this venue for any gathering, large or small, any time of year...it's beauty is not seasonal! Bill and Sue will do everything they can to make your stay enjoyable and all you will have to do is open the door, walk in and wait for the wonderful memories to begin!

This is the 3rd time I have held a team meeting at this house. It has every amenity one could ever wish for; allows for team building through the preparation of meals and allows for fun and relaxation in an absolutely gorgeous setting. The conference room is great and no one from the team has any desire to leave the house from the time thry arrive until it is time to depart.
