During the fall and winter months, Parksville remains a very temperate region; temperatures rarely drop below O° Celsius (32° Fahrenheit). The Tanglewood development is very quiet, and an excellent escape for some quiet and solitude after a long work week in-town. During the winter, drive right into the heated garage; enjoy curling up with a glass of wine in front of the gas fire place; and explore the local holiday craft fairs, fine dining restaurants, spas, swimming pools, and shopping centres. Abby's Family Oasis is just 20 minutes from Nanaimo's Woodgrove Shopping Center and Rutherford Mall, making it an excellent base for a holiday shopping trip. Both shopping centers have a movie theater and some casual dining options, as well as lots of shopping- many stores not available anywhere else on the island.
