Special offer: Julian Weekend Special Details
Enjoy our spacious, beautifully-crafted open cabin with stunning views across our valley through two-story windows: an instant feeling of retreat!
The spacious kitchen, outfitted with new stainless steel appliances and plenty of cooking tools, lets you enjoy meal preparations without missing out on any of what's going on. The generously-sized island makes both a great work area and a good place to hang out. The kitchen includes a microwave, two full-size ovens and plenty of gadgets for your culinary adventures.
Curl up on the loft couch or downstairs in front of the fire for a restful getaway. Get a group together to play board games or put together puzzle from our collection. Gather in our front room to watch a favorite movie on our 47' flat screen t.v. with Blu-Ray/DVD player. Spend a morning reading in the teak swing hanging in the oak tree just outside the kitchen window.
The two similar bedrooms feature queen beds, with luxurious and cozy linens (and the same goes for the pull-out sofas downstairs). The cabin is perfect for a family get-away, and includes a pack-and-play crib for the little ones.
Modern rustic tile in the bathrooms and showers compliments reclaimed antique vanities. The downstairs bath includes a spacious shower; the upstairs bath has a shower/tub.
A generously-sized balcony/deck spans the back of the house, accessed through two french doors. Teak patio furniture lets you enjoy this extra outdoor living space--perfect for morning coffee, outdoor dining, and stargazing at night.
The house features stunning custom work, including a rustic and elegant railing made from oak trees that grew on our property; solar water heating continues our commitment to eco-friendly choices. Whether you enjoy being outside hiking and exploring Julian or just want to stay indoors for a weekend of rest and relaxation, this house offers an experience of mountain retreat as soon as you walk inside!
Our home is located about 2 miles south of Julian's town center, and about 5 miles north of Lake Cuyamaca. On a beautiful hillside, it is a gorgeous vantage point for watching the seasons in Julian, and has easy access to town and to outdoor adventures.

Beautiful House!
Beautiful House!

The house is beautiful, comfortable, spacious, and set in a great location. It was easy to book and straight forward. The only problem is that we ran out of hot water, and if there was something we needed to do to restore it (like turn on the hot water pump or something), it was not a part of the house instructions.Recommended for: Girls getaway.

We had the most amazing time in this awesome home. It is truly magnificent! We loved reading about the history of this home and feel that the family atmosphere was felt in our stay. Julian is a beautiful and quite the “home away from home” We will definitely be back. My son (6) especially had a very hard time leaving. Thank you for opening up your home to us.!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

This house was as wonderful as the pictures show and as others have reported. It was as clean, comfortable, and well-appointed as our own home. We really enjoyed our stay there. The pride the owners have in the home and in maintaining it shows. Because of the cold and rain outside, we spent a delightful day lounging, playing games, watching movies, and appreciating the views of blustery weather and fall colors afforded by the big windows on the west(?) side. Thank you also for the recommendation on the BBQ place in Julian - it was delicious. The hot water went out Sunday morning, but the management company took my call and dispatched someone to repair in about a half hour.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children.

The girls in the family helped me celebrate my 70th birthday at this amazing cabin. I walked into the cabin to see the beautiful glass view windows and the birthday balloons, etc. What a view and surprise. We throughly enjoyed the stay and found the cabin very comfortable, kitchen well stocked and we all enjoyed the wii. The area is very private and the stars were beautiful. I loved the families history book on the rebuilding of the house and the the family pictures on the walls. What a family and friend project and what a wonderful result came from their efforts. We hope to make another visit in the future. JeanRecommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

My Wife and I brought our two daughters, as well as one of their friends, up to this wonderful cabin for the weekend in order to get away and celebrate their birthdays. All of us had a great time! The cabin was clean, well stocked, and nicely laid out. The kitchen and dinning room were well laid out, and the t.v. room maid for great movie watching. The beds were comfortable, and the location was convenient. My family and I will definitely be back. Thanks!Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

We had such a fabulous time at this home! The weather and Julian were gorgeous, the house was immaculate and the home atmosphere gave me the chance to relax the way I never have in the 30 years of my life! Being a San Diego native, I'm blessed to live in this gorgeous city; but with my life being so busy, enjoying it the way vacationers get to is a rare experience! I was able to soak up every minute and share it with friends and family! Which is exactly what I believe it's intent is! We played games, watched movies, grilled out, went on a hike...and so much more! To top it off the neighbors were very friendly! I will definetly be staying here again!!!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: Thank You for the kind words. It brings us joy to know that other people love staying in our home as much as we do. I'm glad you had a chance to relax and unwind!

We really enjoyed staying in this lovely home. We appreciated the Pack N' Play crib for our 8 month old, and the Wii was a wonderful surprise for our 6 year old. Spending time in the great hall, soaking up the natural light was very uplifting. The kitchen was well equipped, and I was able to prepare all the foods I was hoping to. The bench swing outside was enjoyed by the whole family. The neighborhood was very quiet and peaceful. We are all looking forward to our next stay in this house.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, families with young children.

Owner info
Year Purchased: 2003
About the owner: We're a family of three generations. Grandpa and Grandma moved to San Diego with the Navy, and have enjoyed it ever since. Mom and Dad are retired now, too, and the kids try to fit weekends in Julian in between their other commitments!
Why the Owner Chose Julian:
This cabin is a beloved part of our family, since our grandparents built here in the 70s; after the original house burned in the Cedar Fire of 2003, we've rebuilt it ourselves as a place to enjoy the mountains and each other!
The Unique Benefits at this Cabin:
We love using the house as a place to relax and hang out, as a place to work on projects, and as a setting for family meals and cooking together. The back deck is a fabulous place to sit and stargaze at night or soak in sunlight during the day. Plus, it's a great base for exploring the fun things in the area. We like hiking, GeoCaching, and shopping in town, and love the pie at the Julian Pie Shop. (If you go there, tell Tim the Littlehales say hi.) :)
