Chateau Bournand's nine acres are peacefully nestled in a petite village. Special care has been taken to enhance the character with warmth and charm. All rooms are decorated with antiques, art, and oriental and needlepoint carpets to adorn our original tile and wood floors.
Our five chateau, chateau courtyard and manor house bedrooms are large, most with separate sitting rooms and queen beds; all with en-suite baths. Numerous salons are available as well as a solarium and a glorious eleventh century dining cave. Extensive French breakfast included.
We have recently renovated a beautiful two bedroom, three bath carriage house/gite with a full kitchen, salon, and dining area for weekly or longer term rentals. Towels/linens are changed weekly in the carriage house or you may have maid service if desired.
We have a pool and pool house for your relaxation. Bournand's restaurant, along with the grocery, butcher and patisserie, all within walking distance, will add to your enjoyment of our rural paradise. Private parking is inside the walled grounds.
Our gardens are vast and varied. We have a storied tree parc including 4 sequoias over 225 years old. You will enjoy experiencing our floral, fruit, vegetable and herb gardens, learning about past celtic life in the renowned Jardin Celtica, or just choosing a place to relax.
We are the perfect base for exploring the Loire River Valley, designated by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site fot its beauty and history. Whether you are visiting to experience the chateaux, wines, food, market towns, climate or peaceful country life, you will find it difficult to leave and will look forward to your return.
