I recently stayed in this apartment with my wife and 2 sons. This is really a fantastic apartment located in a quite street but extremely near to Vatican. You can take a leisurely walk of 2 minutes to reach St. Peter Square. The features quoted in listing are all present. The property was extremely clean and well maintained. Leo, the owner arranged a taxi to pick us up from airport and was present in the property to explain various features. He even recommended nearby restaurants, bus numbers to travel to tourist attractions. He even called up car rental company (hertz) to make an enquiry on my behalf. He is the perfect host. Can't thank him enough. I had asked Leo whether the apartment has Wi-Fi. He had said at the time of booking that it was Not but he was thinking of installing it. On arrival, we found it installed and very useful. He also provided us with a starter pack of sugar, salt, spices, tea/coffee, olive oil etc. So we did not have to rush off to buy grocery immediately on arrival. We all enjoyed our stay in this apartment. I would certainly recommend it for anyone. One last note, while leaving from apartment, I dropped and lost my cellphone on road. However, I was not sure whether I dropped it on road or inside apartment. I called up Leo and requested him to come down to the apartment. Even on a working day, he came down to the apartment in an hour, searched everywhere for it. This is over and above what is expected from anyone. Can't thank him enough.Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers, sightseeing, age 55+, tourists without a car.

This spacious, comfortable and well appointed apartment is in a fantastic location, literally a five minute walk to St Peter's Square. A variety of shops, cafes and restaurants are also very close by. There is a lift which is particularly important as the apartment is on the third floor. Whilst the apartment may not be walking distance to Rome's other major tourist attractions, these are only a 5 - 10 min cab ride away (probably faster given the way Italian cabbies drive). The highlight of our stay was the genuine hospitality offered to us by the owner, Leonardo. He happily arranged airport transfers, and was there to meet us upon our arrival at the apartment. He even sat down and marked out on a map a number of recommended restaurants, bars and other places of interest. Even though we had been to Rome before, it's always good to get a local's advice. Nothing was too much trouble. I thoroughly recommend this apartment to couples or those travelling with children. Thank you again Leonardo.Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers, age 55+, tourists without a car, people with disabilities.

My husband and our eleven year old son stayed for a week in this spacious and very comfortable apartment. Leonardo was a pleasure to deal with. Very prompt and efficient. It made us feel very confident in booking site unseen. The apartment was exactly as it was listed and in a perfect location for us. Very clean and cozy. Having a clothes washing machine was a plus. Italians typically do not have clothes dryers, so we hung out the laundry as locals do, on the clothes lines on the balcony -- which provided a view of the Basilica dome. (Not a bad way to do laundry!) There was so much to see at the Vatican, (from the Vatican Museums, to the Basilica) that we went back multiple days and we also just stumbled upon the new Pope giving his Sunday blessing. It was wonderful to return home in the evening and to cross through St, Peter's Square with everything lit up. The apartment is within walking distance of major attractions, Camp de Fiore, Piazza Novona etc. We preferred the Metro over the bus and used it frequently, to go elsewhere, such as the Colosseum and Spanish Steps. (The Ottaviano stop was about 1/2 mile on the other side of St. Peter's Square) We used taxis - which were easy to hail on the main street, when we went to dinner, trying out recommended restaurants. Lots of gelaterias close by, (very important for our eleven year old) as well as a couple of coffee shops for morning cappucinos, along with a bank and ATM, which we found was the best way to exchange euros, rather than the exchange bureaus that charge hefty fees. Having Wifi in the apartment was a huge plus. As Rome is a large city and can be noisy, I would recommend bringing ear plugs for light sleepers. Leonardo was very responsive. He immediately replaced a defective hairdryer. He also booked the airport transfers for us which was one less thing for us to arrange. I would absolutely recommend this apartment. Hopefully our travels will bring us back to Italy and Rome soon where I hope we might stay again in this perfect spot.Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, sightseeing, tourists without a car.

I would highly recommend this apartment. The location was perfect. You are a short walk to the Vatican and to the bus/train station. The apartment was bigger than I expected from the pictures. Although the post says smoking is allowed, we did not smell smoke at all and everything was clean, fresh and comfortable. We have five in our family and never felt cramped. We were greeted by a nice woman that taught us how to use the various appliances and a cleaning person came in once a week to change linens. Leonardo was very attentive to our flight time and responded quickly to all my questions and made an extra effort to set up cleaning days and times during our stay since we did not have a phone. We were able to attend 2 audiences with Pope Benedict XVI and 2 of his Masses. (Just ask the Swiss Guard for tickets to the various events) We were in Rome for 3 weeks and I did not want to come home. If I am ever given the grace to return, I will be calling Leonardo.Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+, tourists without a car, people with disabilities, adventure seekers, girls getaway.

In September 2011, our party of three stayed at the apartment and had a wonderful time. It was great to come back to a nice apartment each evening and have the flexibility of eating meals in when we were too tired from sight-seeing and shopping to eat out. Cons: 1. Rome is noisy, and the apartment is located near a major street. Street noise can be a problem there. (If the windows were closed, however, the apartment was very quiet.) 2. The shower is very small. This did not bother us but might be uncomfortable for larger people. (Overall, the bathroom was a good size, and the hot water was plentiful.) Pros: 1. Leonardo and his family were truly welcoming and helpful. 2. The apartment is in a nice neighborhood and is a security building. We felt very safe, and the neighbors were friendly. 3. The location is excellent: near the 64 bus, a Carrefour grocery store, the Vatican, shops, restaurants, etc. 4. The apartment is clean, spacious, and nicely furnished (including some guidebooks and other materials on sights in Italy) and has an elevator, lots of closet space, and good beds. 5. The apartment made Rome affordable.Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, age 55+, tourists without a car.

My mom and I stayed here for 8 nights to celebrate my 40th birthday, and it was wonderfully spacious. The pictures displayed on this website are very accurate. In fact, when my mom and I walked in it was like just walking into the pictures. The apartment was very clean, and well taken care of. Leonardo was sick the day we arrived, so he sent his sister to check us in. She was quite friendly, and shared in English about the apartment and location. They even have a Rome book there that we enjoyed reading to help us choose the attractions. They even added a couple extra treats of tea and biscuits to make our stay even more enjoyable. Thank you! The location was very convenient. We were able to walk to Saint Peter's and local restaurants quite effortlessly. The bus #64 was right around the corner, which took you to all the major attractions; including the train station which we later found out is convenient to use when traveling from the airport. Leonardo was excellent at making sure we were taken care of. He even helped us to order a taxi commute from the airport to the apartment. On top of that he went out of his way to deliver laundry soap so we could wash our clothes there. I was very grateful for Leonardo's hospitality. I would highly recommend this property to friends or relatives. The only thing I would suggest no matter where you stayed in Rome is bring earplugs to help you sleep at night especially if you're a light sleeper. It is a very busy city all through out the night. I come from a very quiet rural area, and wasn't used to all the city noises. People shared that this is the case no matter where you stay in the city. All in all this was a fabulous place to stay for location and space! Thanks Leonardo for making this a great 40th birthday!Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+, tourists without a car, adventure seekers, girls getaway.
Owner response: Dear Shannon, many thanks for this review. I am glad to see that everything was fine and you enjoyed your birthday in Rome. Hope soon you will have the chance to come again and visit Rome and Italy. Leonardo
