Linhaven Lodge is conveniently located within 6 miles of Dushore, in the endless mountains of northeast PA. You can find the amenities you need amidst the backdrop of small town charm. Nestled in the woods, Linhaven borders the 7,909 acres of state gameland #66. You can choose to enjoy the simple pleasures of nature that surround you by walking the quiet stoney roads that access the lodge, drop a line in the nearby large ponds, or simply prop your feet up at a peaceful campfire and enjoy the spoils of friends and family. For the adventurous at heart, you could test your skills by scaling the 24 named falls of the Ricketts Glen falls trail, or hike the Loyalsock trail to the Haystacks boulders and Dutchman falls. Linhaven is centrally located between Ricketts Glen and World's End state parks, so you can choose a trip to either with a mere 1/2 hour drive.
Enjoy the numerous wineries that welcome NEPA visitors with open arms, and generous samples of their spectacular inventory. Easily accessible as well, are the unique country shops, scheduled fairs and festivals, boating and fishing the Susquehanna and Lake Jean, swimming, skiing and snow tubing, a day trip to Knoebels amusement park or PA's little grand canyon.

My boyfriend and I stayed at the cabin for a weekend and it was fantastic. Everything was there that we could think of from towels to even coffee. We both enjoyed being able to go for a weekend getaway and just spending time together after a long week of work. We love how it is nestled in the woods and when we had awaken in the morning we did not have to listen to the noisy cars going by. It was a very peaceful stay and we hope to do it again. Thank you Cindy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

The Linhaven Lodge was Heaven! We planned a last minute weekend trip to relax and that is what we got! The owners were so wonderful, made special arrangements for us to make our trip just perfect. The cabin is so cozy, watching dvds infront of the fireplace was so relaxing and you have a ton of movies to pick from. I am looking forward to coming back in the summer when we can stay longer and go out and do things.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children.

My Wife, two sons, two friends and myself rented the Linhaven Lodge for the week, and we had a great time, The House is Cozy, Well decorated and warm. The Movie Selection, Flat Screen TV, and Satellite TV made Movie nights great. The Property is beautiful, as well as the surrounding countryside, lots of places to Hike, or hunt. There are a lot of games as well, We were able to keep ourselves Busy every night after the kids went to sleep. All in all I would absolutely recommend the Linhaven Lodge to anybody whether they use it for a Hunting trip, or just a place to get away.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with young children.

We spent an enjoyable 3 days at Linhaven Lodge during the peak time of the leaves changing colors. Some rain showers kept us inside more than I had hoped, but we did do a little exploring at World's End State Park and in some of the neighboring towns. We had lunches at Forksville and at the Jolly Trolley in Dushore and time for checking out all the fun items at their store. We also took advantage of a local church fundraising supper being held in Dushore. What a nice way to meet some of the local townspeople and learn about some of their local food traditions! Since the cabin is located on a dead-end dirt road, it is very quiet and provides for opportunity to walk the back roads and look for wildlife. We saw deer and turkeys in the area. Cindy and Hugh were both helpful and answered all my questions via phone, email and in person. The cabin is very comfortable with a big screen TV and tons of movie DVDs. When I wanted a quiet spot to read, I just curled up in a chair in the upstairs dorm room. It's nice to find a rental that supplies the linens, shower supplies and many pantry items. The cabin is cozy but provides additional space for relaxation on the front porch and around the large fire pit. I hope to return with some of my hiking friends, so we can hike the trails at the nearby state parks.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners.

We have been coming to Sullivan Co. for years to attend the Pa Bowhunters Festival and found this perfect place to stay. It is a boys vacation, so this was a perfect place for us to go to have everything we needed at our fingertips. There was 9 of us, and it accomadated us wonderfully. Cindy and Hugh were very gracious and the cabin was beautiful. We will certainly be back next year.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

My wife and I have been vacationing around Sullivan County for many years. Unfortunately, we lost our cabin getaway to Irene and Lee last summer and we were very concerned that we might not be able enjoy all that the area has to offer this year. What a great surpise it was to discover the Linhaven Lodge. Cindy and Hugh have done a tremendous job providing the perfect location for a wonderful stay. They have thought to provide every comfort, form a fully stocked dvd library to the moring coffee. The lsiting photos more than reflect the actual property. We could not have asked for more. We had a truly wonderful long weekend, full of hikes along the Loyalsock, a very memorable trip to the Birdsong Winery, and a lovely dinner at the Whistlestop Restaurant. We especially enjoyed Cindy's falir for decorating and of course, sitting around the fire on a chilly evening just taking in the stars. Thank you Cindy and Hugh for a wonderful stay and looking forward to our return.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children.

My family and I recently stayed at Linhaven Lodge after a tumultuous year of flood recovery courtesy of Tropical Storm Lee. Our family desperately needed a respite and a time to rest and we found abundant opportunity to due just that. The description of the home is spot on and more. The interior is lovely, cozy and well decorated. Although the cabin isn't very large, it was definitely suitable for our family of 7. The property is tidy and nestled in the middle of the woods with plenty of opportunities to go on long walks for quiet talks with your loved ones. I found our hosts more than willing to take care of whatever needs we had (which were very few) and accommodating. Some of my favorite times spent at the Lodge were around the fire ring with the family in at night. We roasted marshmallows and hotdogs and even popped corn out there. With just a little effort we were able to scrounge around the woods for kindling and wood to burn, but just a hint: bringing your own hatchet may be a handy idea. Also we found a deck of Dutch Blitz and had a ball with that card game, so much so we bought our own deck when we went home! The area of Dushore is rather remote, so you're not going to find 'hot spots' or get a cosmopolitan night out on the town. But there is a grocery store, a luncheonette, ice cream shop/deli, a Subway and a gas station/convenience store in town. We did drive into Rickett's Glen and have a great afternoon at their beach. I would most certainly recommend this lodge to anyone who wishes to get away from it all. Actually, I'm hoping my husband will take me there for a long weekend, just the two of us sometime in the fall or winter, so that we can enjoy the fireplace!Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

My friends and I booked this cabin for a weekend fishing trip for my brother in laws bachelor party! The cabin was awesome, and very clean. It was a nice, peaceful, and quiet atmosphere. The fishing was ok but you have to find yourself some lakes to fish at in the area. There is a little pond in the town of Dushore about 10 minutes away that's not too bad, called Bob Kast's pond. It was a great stay and we enjoyed the cabin and the cold beers by the fire at night. The owners are very nice people and very accommodating. I will be coming again with my family!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: We encourage all renters who are unfamiliar with the area to ask for assistance in locating points of interest. We hope everyone will take advantage of the maps and tourist guides provided at the lodge to locate areas they wish to find. We, the owners, also provide our phone numbers for any questions renters may have regarding area attractions. For fishing enthusiasts, a lake is located one mile from the lodge, which is accessible from the state game land end. As well, it is a mere 10 to 15 minute drive to Ricketts Glen state park to access Lake Jean, which is a 245 acre warm water fishery, also know for ice water fishing in the winter months.

Just got back from three days at the logdge, and we could not have had a better time!!! Cindy and Hugh have really done a great job with the place - so warm and cozy and comfortable, and clean!!! It is by far the nicest cabin we have ever stayed in. The location couldn't be better. We hiked and fished and boated at Ricketts Glen State Park, just a short drive from the cabin. And then we took another short ride out to World's End State Park and hiked some more. Even our Jack Russell Terrier loved it, and she can be picky!! Oh, and don't forget the local wineries!! We really enjoyed the fact that the cabin comes fully stocked with everything you could need - even shampoo , conditioner and soap!!! We just brought some food and clothes with us - Perfect!! The owners are very accomadating, even helping with our early arrival. We've never felt so at home on a vacation before!! We will definately be back again!!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.
