After a day spent sightseeing or hiking, enjoy a drink at sunset on the stone patio of our charming and secluded old Rectory in the heart of the Cotswolds while the children play croquet, tennis, basketball or swim. After a bbq by the pool or dinner in the designer kitchen, hop in the hot tub or heated pool for relaxing swim.

As you enter the house from the private gated drive, there is a kitchen/family dining area with a large AGA on the left and an attached mudroom opening up to the tennis court. A formal dining room is on the right with a wood-buring fireplace. The spacious hall is tiled with Victorian tiles and a door leads to the patio facing the church. A powder room is off the hall as well. There is cosy, but ample, living room with a wood buring fireplace and library filled with good books, an HDTV and a full set of James Bond and Pink Panther movies as well as a host of others for every age group. Board games and cards are also available. A conservatory/play room opening out to the pool contains a fold-out couch with a double bed. Upstairs, the house has four bedrooms and three baths (two with power showers). The master bedroom has a queen four-postered bed with a large ensuite bathroom. The second bedroom has a queen bed with an ensuite bathroom containing a period clawfooted bathtub. The third bedroom has two twin beds, but can accomodate another twin rollaway. The fourth bedroom has a double bed, but there is also room for a rollaway. There is a shared bathroom with a tub/power shower at the end of the hall. A portacrib is available.

Outside, there are ample lawns for playing ball games and croquet, bicycles in the shed, a tennis court with ball machine for practicing your strokes and a hot tub and heated pool with an electric cover. Pool toys and water wings are available and there is a table and chairs for outside dining on the York stone patio as well as a fire pit for relaxing at night.

The view is spectacular. There is loads to do in the area. Beautiful Broadway is 4 miles away, a pub is within cycling distance, walking and hiking abounds and the area is full of picturesque villages with good restaurants.

Our house is NOT for those expecting a standard, run-of-the-mill rental experience. It is an old house with all the quirks and is well-furnished with lots of extras, but we can guarantee that those who like this sort of thing will absolutely love it!

This rambling country estate is an unbelievable find. We were four retired couples and we could easily have spent the entire time relaxing around the pool, the fire pit, or the tennis court - there's no need to go anywhere. But, of course we did day trips to the quaint villages of the Cotswolds, to Oxford, Stratford, the historic Sudeley castle - all within easy reach of the house. In the evening we enjoyed our glass of wine and cocktails around the pool - and cooked our dinner in that technological marvel - the Aga stove. The house is very well equipped, and beautifully furnished with exquisite taste. Traci's decor is impeccable in the historic rooms. The 18th century church was just 30 yards away - chiming on the hour to add another touch. Traci has left a humorous and comprehensive list of what to do. Our weather was great, which helped - but the star of our memorable stay was this bucolic piece of heaven in the scenic Cotswolds. We cannot recommend this house enough - it was an unforgettable stay.

Our stay at the Old Rectory was perfect. The property exceeded our expectations and met our needs in every way. We enjoyed the related history and surrounding areas to visit, yet lots to do when returning to the house and activities there each day. Tennis, pool, hottub, croquet, walks and more kept us active and entertained. Broadway is a lovely town with nice pubs and restaurants for those days we didn't eat in. Thanks Traci and Weaver family for all.

We spent a week at this wonderful house in July and had one of the best vacations of our lives. Here is my husband'sr eview: Dream something wonderful, double it, and you might get close to what this place is like. It is both old and modern, rustic and comfortably connected, bucolic and convenient, etc. etc. Every room is beautiful, the amenities are perfect, the owner's notes helpful. We had a great time and wish we hadn't had to leave. We will be back! Thank you Traci (my old friend from early career days) and David.

We were looking for a large house in the Cotswolds and found this beautiful home on VRBO. Traci was incredibly easy and helpful to work with in making the booking & telling us about the house, it could not have been easier, and we received clear instructions how to find & get into the house. Once we were there, it was clear we had found a very special home, with every luxury imaginable including heated pool, jacuzzi, tennis court, croquet set, DVD's and books galore, bicycles - there was no shortage of things to do, all while located close to Broadway and Chipping Norton. These delights were combined with well stocked supplies - loo paper, kitchen towels, high quality crockery and even drinks. High quality bedding and comfortable beds ensured we slept really well. The home had been extensively remodeled to a very high standard around 2003, so as a Brit living in the States, I can really appreciate the upgrades to "American" standards - ie great plumbing / showers / lighting! Every room has wifi and so remaining connected to the outside world was easy as was a very cool telephone system that allows up to 1 hour of free calls anywhere in the world - that was an unexpected surprise. This home is well suited to couples, groups and families with kids alike and with plenty of "favorite" places to call your own, you never ever feel there isn't enough space. During our week, we loved the house so much, we hardly left it, playing tennis, swimming, lounging around the pool, BBQ's. The views of the grounds & surrounding countryside are spectacular, and being an old Rectory, there is a "secret garden" path to the beautiful village church whose nostalgic church bells chimed on the hour to remind us just how fast our vacation was going! We could not find a single fault with the home and no sooner had we got home that our deposit check had been returned. We highly recommend this property and look forward to returning

                  Owner info

                  Year Purchased: 2002

About the owner: We moved to London from Baltimore in 1999 and soon realised that with two small children we needed a country escape. The Cotswolds captivated us, and we fell in love with this special house which had everything we needed for an enjoyable weekend or holiday. We have had many amazing times with friends at this house and even hosted our 50th there last year. Sadly, our kids are teenagers and their weekends are consumed with sports in London. While they still love to go to the country, it is just not possible. We would love to share this experience with you and hope that you will enjoy it as much as we have. Having owned the house for almost 10 years, we know the area well and will provide a notebook filled with helpful hints and sightseeing ideas to enable you to get the most out of your vacation.

                  Why the Owner Chose Broadway:
We had visited the area many times, and it has so much to offer that we decided to buy. The surrounding towns are picturesque and have great pubs and restaurants.

The Unique Benefits at this Chateau / Country House:
The house feels very secluded and private ,but is is very near Broadway and other sights. A train station is 10 minutes away with service to London.
