Location: Buffalo, Big Horn National Forest, Wyoming, USA (32 mi. West of Buffalo, Wy.) View Map
Accommodations: Cabin, 3 Bedrooms, 1 Bath (Sleeps 2-6)
We built this beautiful 1500 sq. ft. cabin for our own personal getaway. We like high places so the cabin is on the side of a mountain at 8000 ft. elevation with a panaramic view of the Big Horn Mts, the highest being Cloud Peak at 12,223 ft. The sun rises behind the cabin which provides an amazing light show on the peaks in front of the cabin and sets over the Hazelton Peaks at the left front of the cabin's 16x20 deck for a truly one of a kind sunset. The show is not over yet because at this elevation with no other lights around the stars are so crystal clear and brilliant. The view from the porch or the big picture window in the living room is a never ending enjoyment day or night.
The Cabin has a king size bed in the master bedroom, double bed in other private bedroom and 3 double beds and one twin bunk in the loft. The Kitchen is fully equipped to do any kind of cooking that suits you and there is a large oak table with 8 chairs .The livingroom is equipped with a beautiful red Vermont Casting wood stove, a leather couch with 2 recliners, leather love seat w/2 recliners, and a large leather recliner. There is also a 32' LCD flat screen TV with dvd player so you can watch your favorite movies. The walls and ceilings are all Aspen finished and there are hard wood floors throught out.
The cabin is perfect place for early risers to sit on the deck, enjoy your morning cup of coffee and watch nature unfold as the sun rises. You never know what you might see before you.
This is an ideal location for snowmobilers, fourwheelers, hikers, and other outdoor enthusiasts as it borders the National Forest on the front and BLM on the back. Your fun is only limited by you.
Keywords: Cabin, Big Horn Mountains, 23 acres, joins National Forest in Front, BLM in back. Breathing view

Fabulous view from the cabin, great walking trails nearby, scenic panoramas everywhere, all tied in with VERY comfortable, nicely appointed, and beautiful lodging. We enjoyed the feeling of the open country, but loved having hot showers, running water, a full set of appliances and all the kitchen ware and gadgets needed to make it feel like home. Everything was clean and well maintained and all we needed to take along was our own food and clothes! We also saw a variety of wildlife this trip - fox, deer, groundhog and antelope. What an easy way to experience the wild beauty of the Cloud Peak Wilderness area and the peaceful quiet nights that only being out in nature can provide.
Owner response:We look forward to having you come back

Our family of four (two adults, two teenagers) just returned from a week's stay at this beautiful cabin, and it was everything we were hoping for. The view is just as everyone exclaims - expansive and spectacular. The cabin is the owners' personal mountain retreat, and you are treated as one of the family. It is very attractively appointed, clean, and comfortable, much more a home than a cabin. The owners were kind and considerate, bringing us medicine when one of our sons took ill. They helped us plan our activities, which for us included lots of hiking, fishing and scenic drives. Outdoor opportunities abound in the surrounding area, yet we also enjoyed just being at the cabin, playing games, fixing our meals, taking walks, watching movies. This lovely place is truly "away from it all", very quiet and peaceful. We wish we could have stayed longer and definitely plan to return.

Six of us stayed for 2 nights in July and we would definitely return to the same cabin again.

This cabin is beautiful inside and out. The view from the deck alone will make you want to return again and again. The decor and furnishings were lovely and comfortable and the kitchen has everything you want. The owners have thought of everything in terms of guests comfort and we couldn't have been happier with this beautiful dwelling in the Bighorns.

I could not believe my eyes. The surroundings...front and back are just breath taking. The Cabin is more like a home than a cabin. Filled with pots and pans, beautiful bedding, lovely furniture, board games and a flat screen TV with movies. I mean this was top notch and I felt so comfortable there. This was a real get away I will remember for a life time.

I was visiting family in Wyoming and decided I needed a night in the Big Horns. I called the owners and they were so helpful in setting me up for my mini-vacation. Since I was unfamiliar with the area, they gave me explicit directions to the cabin and offered their assistance in any way I needed. I was so excited when I arrived to find a wonderful cabin in such a beautiful setting. I quickly unloaded and settled down to enjoy the view. I was able to watch a glorious sunset with all of the fall colors. The cabin is beautifully decorated and everything you need is at your fingertips. Since I was there in October, I built a roaring fire in the stove and after dinner I snuggled down with a big bowl of popcorn and a good book. There was a nice assortment of movies to choose from if I so desired. I slept like a baby in the big comfy bed. The next morning I was able to see a small herd of Elk move among the aspen at the edge of the mountain meadow in front of the cabin. With the brisk mountain air, a strong cup of coffee, and the fall colors spread out before me, I felt totally rejuvenated and ready to face the outside world. I only wish I could have stayed longer. I will definitely come back to this little piece of heaven in the Bighorns, and heartily recommend it to anyone that wants a place to go that is away from the hustle and bustle of the outside world.
Owner response:Thank you we certainly enjoyed having you there.
